Hey Capricorn et al :),

It's a gorgeous morning here today, which always helps you feel a bit brighter, I think. I'm an Activia Intensley convert :D - they only had the strawberry ones in our tesco, and I don't even like strawberry flavoured things, but OMG YUM :drool: (I can't believe they're only a saintly 2.5syns!). Thanks for checking my menu over Capricorn - I'd run it through the online food tracker thing, so I though it was okay, but new stuff's a little intimidating sometimes ;). It's is the one with the bits in I like, yep (it's okay, I'll eat your share, I LOVE them ;)), it's a shame they only come in the big pots, but I've a whole bunch of small lock'n'lock boxes so I figure I'll just portion it out when I open it and have done (electronic scales may be my favourite kitchen gadget).

That sounds like a gorgeous fruit mix - go you for not even thinking of the icecream for you! I need to haul over to Asda and see what they have (and pick up some more quark, I've discovered it with a little garlic salt and some carrots... snacky heaven!).

I totally second the shredded, stir fried nobbies :D - I used to loathe them but a very bossy flatmate I had as a student made me eat them stir fried and now I love them almost as much as I love broccolli (thank goodness it's healthy, I'm not sure the relationship I have with it is!). LIGHTLY steaming them and mixing them with grilled, chopped up (defatted!) bacon (put them in a covered dish and give them a shake to mix the bacon right through it) makes for a very yummy side-dish. Or main dish if you're a bit peculiar like me!

:bliss: summer's coming - lovely fresh fruit and veg are on their way and so is less of us all :D

I know that this week has been quite odd and somewhat restricted as I have gone off a lot of things... anyhoo I think... NO ... I WILL do a week of success express and see how it goes...
Right I will get off and make a start until huby gets in...

Well folks about 2 minutes after I posted this morning it started to snow :eek: -It did look pretty though, we got about 3" -its still here but its gone a bit soggy -although they have given out warnings of more to come....
Hubby has gone to get a few hrs kip (better than him lolling on the sofa ;)) -he never gets much sleep on duty and then tonight he has agreed to do some driving for the sgts mess -from about midnight - 3am... *fruit loop*

Anyhoo -we got to the naafi this morning so hubby got the €164 they owed him and then put some of that in another machine and won €150 :p -so thats another €50 I have gained..bless his ickle socks...
I did get a few bargains whilst we were there.... This ham :-

whoopsed to 20c a pack :eek: , so I have 6... I picked better ones than the pic though :p, I also got 4 chicken breast fillets whoopsed to €1 :clap: so they are all tucked up in the freezer now ....
I have decided that I WILL be giving a solid week of success express a whirl AND just to make it more fun I WILL aim to use my syns as a weekly total *gulp* -I always use mine on a daily basis and it a "use em or lose em" thing..well not this week.... so it could be fun and games this week :p
I have started sorting my meal plan out for the week so Im hoping to get it finished before bed time... I may well be calling on you lovely lot to keep me going -and to check Im doing it right :cross:....
oohh and hubby does break up on Friday but not for a week -its for a fortnight ...now that could be interesting -although on the up side, if the weather improves we can get out and do lots of walking :party0011:

Well the scales say "another 1lb has bitten the dust" :happy036:... which means I have exceeded my 14lb valentines challenge by 1/2lb and that means I have lost just over 1/3 of my body weight too:party0011:..
As I decided the other day I am giving success express a whirl this week, just for the heck of it.. so lets see what this week brings :cross:....

todays meal plan looks like this - success express EE (let me know if I have it wrong) :-

Right then amongst all that pretty colouring I make todays plan = 2A+Bs + 9syns... and I think I have that right for success express :cross:
so that gives me 9/105 on the syn front... I have done the entire plan for this week but Im really short on using my syns ... but Im not sure how Im going to use the rest.... unless I aim to use 70 instead :hmm:......:nono: I said I was giving it a week of using them all so I WILL ... I can always use more milk ...never can have too much of that :giggle:

Loving reading your posts.

As to your plan. Just wanted to ask what day are you doing? I think you said EE but you've still got 2 lots of each HEx. On EE day you can only have 1A and 1B.

Other than that it looks great. I love grapfruit, it's one of my favourite fruits.
 
Success express looks good Capricorn - looks like you've got plenty of SF in there. And well done on another 1lb off

Wicca -Im giving success express a go... and it seems you do EE but get 2A+Bs :happy036:.... I must admit I have just sent my meal plan through to a consultant I know via another site to see if I have it right as it does seem an even better plan for me if so as I love my veggies so eating 2/3 sf is a doddle :p.. Im a grapefrit addict too...

Well, I failed my bookkeeping exam :-( I now have to do a retake on 15th March, along with several other people from my tutor group, from what I can gather.

oohh bum Trace.... do you think the fact that those doing re-sits seem to mainly from your tutor group could be relevant? I would certainly ponder it.... can you get a bit of extra tuition from a different one? mind you are busy enough already -but it would be a shame for one area to stop you doing what you want to do...

Oooh interesting. I love my fruit and veggies too. I'm liking the idea of EE but with 2 HEx's. Do you just have to do 2/3 of your plate with superfree?

Wicca -sorry I didn't answer earlier I was waiting to hear back from the consultant -just wanted to make sure I had it right so I didn't lead you astray with my rambling :p. Im thinking it will suit me down to the ground as it has the ease of EE with the bonus of 4hex -and I never use all my syns -so paying the higher amount for bits n bobs won't bother me... Im not expecting I will get the big losses mind as I always have about 2/3 veg anyway -so it probably won't me much of a shock to my system -but it will stop things getting stale ;)
Anyhoo -yes.. here is the information I was given..

SUCCESS EXPRESS

Step 1
Have Three Success Express Meals a Day. At each meal follow the two to one principle.
Fill two thirds of your plate with Super-free foods then one third of the plate with foods that are Free on Green or Original.

Step 2:
Add one or two Healthy Extra ‘A’ Choices and two ‘B’ choices from either the Green or Original lists.

Step 3:
Snack on Super-free Foods such as fresh or frozen fruit, vegetables, eggs or very low fat dairy products. You can add Healthy Extras to Snacks.

Step 4:
Choose your Syns; enjoy five to 15 Syns per day. You can enjoy your Syns as part of a meal or for treats.
Snacks, desserts or starters that are not Super-free or Healthy Extras are counted as Syns.

SERVING SENSE

To get the maximum benefits from Success Express. It is best to follow the easy guidelines that put a little structure and control into your serving sizes.

If you find yourself building “towers” of food that are mainly free on Green or Original, it might be better to go for that choice rather than busting the “true” two to one principle.

On a Success Express Day, everything you eat that isn’t a Free Food (following the two to one principle), a Super-free Food or a Healthy Extra has Syns. If a Syn has a higher value on one choice than the other then you must take the higher value.

  • [STRIKE]14g cheddar(3)[/STRIKE] -Im swapping this for ham
  • lettuce (sf)
  • cucumber (sf)
  • tomato (sf)
  • tickled cabbage (sf)
  • tickled beetroot (sf)
  • tickled onions (sf)
  • 500ml semi (2xA)
  • fibre plus bar (B)
  • lychees (sf)
so that gives me 2A+Bs and 8 syns... and I have decided to settle on a weekly syn allowance of 70 for this week,,, so its 8/70

I really relate to what you say. I feel my tightrope getting thicker (I feel only a step away from the drop but less so than before). I haven't had any full days off plan but I have had a few 'flexi syn' meals but never a full day. I don't want to do that because I can't see anything that would be worth a full day 'off plan' - only an occasional meal.

And I can't WAIT for your Mum to see you. Wow. She must already be proud of you but even more so when she finally sees you. Please make sure that someone records that moment !

I talk to mum nearly every day and she has now started doing SW with the books I sent her. I really would like to be at target before I go home or at least as close as possible ;).. I was also "talking" to someone who used to be a consultant about trying to become one when I get home and she mentioned that you used to have to be within 1st of target to be accepted..so I really need to get the rest of it off....:cross:

so then I make that 2A+Bs and 3.5syns -however I may need to "buy" 250ml more milk for (6)-so I will add that later if need be... but until then my syns stand at 11.5/70
ooh I have decided to start getting my food photos done again -more than anything so i can make sure Im getting my 2/3 super free in ;)so I will post those later...

I have an interview on Wednesday, so hoping that goes well, then another the following Thursday (which I can only go to if Im unsuccessful with the one on Wed). Food wise, think i've lost a few lb's through stress more then anything else (its on my diary), so WI is Tues morning this week instead of Thurs eve with re to work.

I will be altering todays plan as there was NO WAY I could eat 3 ryvitas sooooo I had the 1 ryvita left over from brekkie.. and instead of using my other heB on 2 more I will have it as a fibre plus bar this evening - "woohoo" .
I love my square plates (they are actually fondue plates) -but I figured they are a great way of making sure I get my 2/3 super free -plus it stops my beetroot etc dripping everywhere :bliss:can't believe I didn't think of them before :eek:.... not that I plan on using them for everything mind...

Nikki -I hope the interviews go well :cross:
