Bananas

Hello this is my 3rd week doing weight watchers and I seem to be eating a lot if bananas put in getting very constipated and bloated does anyone know if bananas can course this!! Any info would be good as a friend of mine also said they can stop you losing weight if you eat too many?

What do you call a lot of bananas? One a day? Five a day? I think it really depends on the amount you eat whether or not this can make a difference.
 
I have approx one banana a day and am losing weight just fine. The thing is bananas have a lot of sugars I think compared to other fruits, so if you were to eat only bananas you could hinder your weightloss.
Not sure about bloating but experiment with it is my advice, try not having bananas and see ifthat changes anything,

I think one a day is fine, that's usually what I have. Perhaps try having other types of fruit too.

Hi Becky, Bananas are a high source of potassium, this could be causing the constipation/bloatedness, I would drop down to one banana a day,introduce soft fruit which will relieve the constipation etc and then see how you get on if you want to introduce more. On the Vintage WW Plan where bananas had to be pointed it was advised to only eat one a day due to the high point content. X

Thank you for your advice I will try and eat other fruit and see how it goes I will buy some pears and pineapple as I eat fruit with yogurt as I'm not a great fruit eater but try to eat it when I'm hungry instead of crisps and chocolate. Xx

Do you ever eat melon? It gives you the sweet hit of chocolate but as its mainly water you just wee most of it out! It's quite filling too so is a suitable snack,i quite often have some when I'm waiting for my daughter to come out of school and it keeps me filled up till dinner. X

I haven't tried it for years but I didn't like it but I know as you get older your taste buds change so they say so I will give it another go. Thanks x
