Post Break Up Body

Thursday update: Had a few glasses of wine again for dinner, but the massaman wasn't up to much, so only ate a couple of bites of it.

Friday: Final day on the slopes. Had a plum tomato, some scrambled egg and a sausage. I had a slice of pizza for lunch, then dinner was a tomato soup and duck with green beans. There were also a couple of cake bites and nibbles for celebrations and, as usual, a few glasses of wine.

Leaving today. Had a pain au chocolate to take on the transfer as I was leaving before breakfast. Will definitely get something at the airport. No alcohol though, thank goodness!! I' be had a great week, but looking forward to getting back onto the diet and interested about weigh in tomorrow morning.

Finished off the holiday with a noodle salad, a coke and a chocolate bar at the airport. Then went for an Indians with my family when I got home. That included poppadoms and puri so not exactly the healthiest. In fact, yesterday was probably the most unhealthy eating of the week.

Weigh in this morning put me 2lbs up on last week. That's 10lb across the 3 weeks. Obviously it's in the wrong direction, but I'm actually quite happy with this result as I've been drinking a lot and eating carbs which would add on water weight.

So let's see if it all falls back off this week. Got to get back into the low carb diet. Looking forward to avoiding alcohol for a while!

Alright, back on track with two healthy days (although haven't done the shopping to properly track food)

Sunday: I had a two egg omelette with 5 cherry tomatoes and some feta for lunch. Chicken and Tomato creamy sauce with broccoli (pasta substitute) for dinner.

Monday: 2 eggs scrambled with 3 slices of ham for lunch. Peppers, onion, salmon and prawn fish stew using coconut milk for dinner.

3 people in the house have come down with a vomiting bug, so I'm desperately trying to stay away from them and wash my hands regularly. Feels a bit like it might be inevitable, but we'll see.

oh no - hope you can stay well!

Love the sound of the salmon and prawn stew. And well done getting straight back on track

It was delicious! One of those recipes from simply cook, so they send all the sauces and things and you just need to pick up a few ingredients. Benefit of everyone being sick is that there are still leftovers in the fridge.

I was nervous about staying on track, but I was really quite good on my holiday at sticking to 2 small meals, so it has been easier than I expected. I did a sneaky weigh in this morning and can see that all the water weight from eating carbs has dropped back off, which is great.

Hi, you’ve done really well avoiding dessert. I say dessert doesn’t bother me & I’ll go without on holiday & then I cave on the first day, ha ha. I did a lot of drinking on Friday, weighed in a day late this week & I’ve stayed the same, but the scales have been up & down all week.

I surprised myself. Only a slice of victoria sponge and half a crumble for the week.

STS seems an OK result if you had some ups through the week. Next week we can both be down

Yesterday was another good day. Still no shopping, so I will have gone a bit over on calories.

Lunch: I was inspired to eat 50g halloumi, 90g lentils, 6 baby tomatoes and salad. Would be around 300cal with the oil to fry the halloumi.

Dinner: I made everyone beef stir fry. I avoided the rice. It was another simply cook and it claimed 750 cal for a portion. So without rice I would guess about 600 cal. It was really good though, and stacks of protein.

Today I am sat eating a small bowl of the leftover fish stew from Monday. I'm not sure what's on the menu for dinner yet as someone else is cooking tonight.

Also, the rest of the house has recovered from the bug and I seem to have escaped...watch this space.

And long may the lucky escape last! Sickness bugs are horrible.

I'm glad I inspired you with the halloumi and lentils :)

I need to be stricter with myself - I've been terrible, especially on the days I work from home, for snacking when OH has gone out. There's no need, and it really is mind over matter.

Ended with dinner of 2 sausages and a cauliflower and butter bean mash. I just love sausage and mash, and the substitute was really really good, but not the most impressive looking meal on the plate.

Today, I had another lentil, halloumi, tomato lunch, this time with spinach. 300 cal ish.

For dinner I will pick up courgettes to make into ribbons for a prawn pasta dish (without the pasta). Probably 500 cal as it has a bit of cream in the recipe. It's yet another simply cook. Trying to whittle down the backlog of them in the cupboard.

Yesterday, I was wearing a top and skirt that I bought a month ago, and it fitted much looser, which was nice. I think I've lost about a stone at this point, but we will see what the scales say on Saturday.

I also find snacking when WFH is really difficult. Gets to the afternoon and all the good intentions go by the wayside. My only replacement is to make endless cups of tea to the point that my lip starts twitching!!

hah I know what you mean! At least in the office (and especially this one), I'm pretty much limited to whatever I bring in with me.
Everyone seems to have abandoned this afternoon to enjoy the sun, but I really want to build up my flexi time!

Hi, I’ve just purchased the the slim 800 air fryer cook book. £5.99 from ebay brand new, rrp £14.99. I’ll be choosing some recipes for my hubby to cook. I think my attempts would be disastrous. No pics in the book though.

I’ve been feeling really hungry for the past 3 weeks now, but don’t want to snack on fruit because it spikes my blood sugar so I only really have strawbs. I saw a video that they help you lose weight don’t know whether it’s true, ha ha.

So I’ve been havin low fat supernoodles cos they’re only 2 syns for an afternoon snack. A jacket spud with beans would be better. Only 1 syn for the microwave frozen jackets & beans are a speed food. Been havin salad for lunch. I must not give in to my craving for a kfc fillet tower burger ha ha. I need to ask my hubby to make the fakeaway version.

Unfortunately, no air fryer over here. Would be great at reducing the amount of oil I use. Hope you find some good recipes.

I had some itsu pot noodles the other day on the plane and I was shocked they were only 200cals.

Cucumber and hummus it usually a good snack for my hunger. I don't love it, so I eat it slowly. And it's pretty filling. But I have no idea what that means in SW points.

I LOVE the Itsu products. Great when you're in a pinch. And their frozen dumplings are delicious.

We got a cheap second hand air-fryer, and keep considering getting a larger one. It saves so much time, as well as being great for reducing oil. I love cooking salmon in mine, with the added benefit of the whole flat not smelling of fish.

I will have to have a look at that book, Ali. I tend to just find recipes online these days. Mainly because I'm an intuitive cook: recipes are an inspiration, rather than something to be followed. Probably why I'm terrible at baking!

Prawn pasta was great - very healthy. Only spiralised courgette, tomatoes, salad, prawns, garlic, and the food pots that come with the recipe. It was actually so low calorie (<300 cal) that I gave myself a glass of wine to sip before making dinner.

Today is Friday, which means wrap pizza. One tortilla, Passata, goats cheese, antipasto meat and spinach. For lunch I'll have eggs, salmon and spinach. Then it's weigh in tomorrow morning - hoping for something good after last week's result.

Today, I'm wearing a skirt that I couldn't zip up a month ago. I will pick up my smaller-sized clothing in 2 months, so that's a big motivator for me to lose more weight for when that arrives. Lots of summery clothes that I haven't worn for a few years.

Speaking of motivators, next week it's mother's day and we're doing a home made afternoon tea to celebrate. I'm making the trifle. Is there anything in an afternoon tea that's low carb? Maybe the tea itself. Anyway, I need to eat well over the next week to feel guilt free about dishing up a big portion of trifle to myself. Trifle is my absolute favourite of all desserts. Probably eating unhealthy food is not the best motivator for a dieter, but I don't care. I want the jelly, cream, cake, fruity goodness.

Maybe this is how I should cook my cauliflower! Truly the aroma of dieting in my house.

Right now my issue is kitchen/bench space. I'll be moving in a couple of months, so maybe I'll get something then. Great to not have to do the whole oven when you're just cooking something small.

I love mine air-fried or roasted in the oven. Definitely works well in the air-fryer.

We only have a small kitchen, but the flat is open plan, so put a breakfast bar between the kitchen and living areas, which gave me some extra space.
