:character00238: Good morning everyone :character00238:
It is SO misty this morning. From where I'm sitting it looks as though it's a bright morning but when you look out you can see that it is the "whiteness" of the mist that is shining through the window.
OH and I have a nice little job to do this morning. A couple of days ago I bought a memory foam mattress. It is compressed and rolled in a box so we have to get the old one off early so that the new one grows back to the right depth by the time we get to bed tonight :nightf:
I am expecting great things as a 3 years ago I bought a mattress topper and even that made a difference
The problem was that it was after I unrolled the topper I found the piece of paper that said "leave for 8 hours on bed before using". It needed that time to plump up and lose it's new smell
As it was nearly time for bed we took the topper into another room and left it there
almost flat. Obviously almost was not good enough and we have lived with an annoying wiggly ridge right down the length towards my side
So today we are going to do it right. They are not a cheap item to buy and we can't afford another for many years.
Taz - The organisation must have been a nightmare. It was a very ambitious project. All through last week there were events in different venues as part of the festival, culminating in this festival weekend. It is still going on today!!! I think it would be better if they concentrated on one stage at the weekend and advertised it really well. The problem is that it is not just one genre. It is ANY accoustic and roots singer/songwriter. If it was a Folk Festival it would have a
natural following - people like to know what they're buying tickets for.
There was a charity aspect to the event too. The organiser has promised at least £200 to a charity that works with children of alcoholics so it would have been great to top that.
You are right though, it was good experience. Typical Folkie, I hate microophones but I have to get comfortable with them as a lot of venues use them. The show was also my worst nightmare.
All the audience were performers themselves and though appreciative there was not a big enough crowd to create that magic audience/performer
vibe :vibes:
that all performers thrive on. The good news though was that guinness was only £2.40 a pint
£3.40 where we go in Cornwall!!!
Have a lovely day everyone. It might be a good one here when the mist burns off and maybe Mr Sun comes out to play :character00238:
