Big Boys Need Love Too!

I'm on my own in front of the tele watching The Verve at Glastonbury and feeling lonesome for a tent and a pair of wellies :sigh: I guess I'm just an old hippie really :D One thing I'm glad I haven't got to contend with is festival toilets and no showers - Oh and people out of their faces who think everyone wants a bit of their action. Ahh...... but give me a camper van with EVERYTHING in (especially the comfy bed, loo and shower) and I might give it a go next year!

good morning everyone. you seem to have had an eventful weekend.

congrats on the test bex. let me know when you are coming up and the more the merrier :D you can even have a bit of floor to sleep on if you like, ha. i do have a large sofa bed but you'd all be sharing!!

and of course i won't be eating :D

managed to get straight back onto cd after my night out on saturday. didn't manage to get drunk but not through lack of trying!! had an auberginey mozzerella thing to start and a goats cheese and roast veg pizza and both were jubbly. took me ages to eat them too!! and didn't have dessert!! would have if other people had been though i have to admit. and i had a subway sarnie at lunch time too. really wanted to make sure i was out of ketosis before drinking so i didn't collapse, ha. but it was strange. it was most definately eating for a purpose. it tasted nice and everything but i didn't feel like i had to keep on eating it. now i do!! ha. i could munch my way through a subway sarnied with ease right now!! ah well. hopefully it will pass in a couple of days. i gained 2lbs for my sins and as i was crap with my water yesterday that hasn't changed much so gallons of the stuff needs to go down my throat today!!

hope you all had a good weekend.

what did you think of wanted tyn? i saw it yesterday.

Glad you're weekend went well abz. I know what you mean about subway. Just the smell as you pass by is enough to drag you in! Sounds like you were much more restrained than me the weekend. I don't even want to know the damage so am staying away from the scales for a while. I reckon it's porridge, water, carrots and celery for me today! I'll make sure I have a "good" week with no lapses anyway x

i had to get on the scales to make a comparison gem. the fact that one evening can stick 2lbs on really puts into perspective what i must have done to myself before. i know most of it is water and that if i was a healthy weight it would just gradually come off as i ate healthily, but i didn't eat healthily afterwards before.

i have just started feeling really really sick. not sure why. have had nearly a litre of water already this morning. woo, ha. but my stomach isn't happy with me.

also discovered last night that my painkillers and this diet don't like each other. i can't take less of them as they don't work in a lower concentration and i need to eat really before i take them. so last night i was out like a light and had tummy ache. but my back stopped hurting!! ha.

abz xx

Don't just carry on like that as you could end up doing damage to your stomach. Get some advice from the Dr. He/she may be able to prescribe something that will not react with CD. Painkillers are funny old things and can in certain circumstances agrivate your stomach so much that it becomes ulcerated (defo not nice). See GP and be on the safe side hon.

well i very rarely take them gem. hence this is the first time i've had to since i started and only because i danced my arse off. if needs be i will go and get some more, no worries, ha. i don't intend to go throught that again :) they aren't tablets that you are supposed to eat before taking, but for some reason my body is just happier that way... even if it's just a biscuit or something in the past so i'd probably get away with a bar beforehand if needs be...

Glad it's all under control abz. Don't know what's wrong with your back but pilates is really good for backs. It gently improves your core stability, giving you a better structure for support. It does actually work but you have to keep at it. x

Well helloooooooooooo oh lovely friends of mine. welcome back Gem! and also, i forgot to say congrats on passing your text Bex!! Woop!! Nice work!! Bad day yesterday, willpower wasn't as stong as it should have been. My uncle came round to watch the match and so we had a table full of junk, e.g. crisps, chocolate, pistachios, cookies. I did try and stick to the dried figs but really couldn't manage it lol. however, i didn't eat everything i picked up lol, i gave some of it to my sister as a tactic to stop me eating it. but i dont care that i was forcing junk down her throat cos she needs to fatten up, she's painfully thin at the moment lol. :p and my water intake was ridiculously bad. i find it so much harder to drink lots of water at home. still on the pills as this problemo of mine hasn't really gone yet but these are helping. it says to stop taking them when you've gone 'regular' again so that's what i'll do.

oh well, here's to today everyone! i really would like to drop 2 more pounds by friday... :) xxx

Had no idea they did dynamite in pill form. I reckon it'll be some blast when that works  Have you alerted the authortities? They may have to cancel all leave and increase overtime down at the sewage works :D (evil grin) I'll keep watching the news for signs of earth tremor in your part of the world as figs have certain properties too :sick0019:
Having only been away for 3 days I came back to chaos. So many things to deal with. Still I had a good time :party0036:hic! and won't be on the scales for at least a week. I gues it's pay-back time now :sigh: x

well i get swelling in the muscles in the base of my back which traps my sciatic nerve. it's an awful lot better than it was, i don't get sciatica any more unless i do something silly like dance all night... ha.

the physio never did work out what was wrong with it and kept making it worse so i've stopped going and losing weight will help alleviate the problem. the physio also said that research has proven that ordinary exercise helps just as much as physio does so i felt kind of guilty for using up the nhs's money... so getting thin and then getting exercise is the order of the day...

Yeah but you can only buy it with *certain red shoes*!! the earth moved for me earlier, didnt you feel the tremour?:sick0019: hahaha this is DISGUSTING. we must stop Gem! Aaaanyway haha, I'm sure it's not as bad as you think. did you hear, i went to TGI's and lost a pound. Woop!:p haha. Looks like i'm out tomorrow night for food again for my friend's birthday, little bit worried about that one :sigh: But i'm going to TRY MY HARDEST!!!

Abz, sounds painful my love. I think there are a zillion and five different things that the doc has said will get better for me after weight loss haha. we'll show these evil problems! muhahahaha.

ooh. i'm bit hungry. always makes me happy because it gives me the right to EAT! Woop! xxxx

Weight does cause problems but it is also a convenient out for the lazy doc. A bit like "Well you are menopausal dear" or "I must be your time of month" or if it is a kid "Growing pains Dear" all with suitable looks designed to make you scurry out of the surgery. Don't be put off if ever you think there really is something that needs looking into. x

Hey all. Yes Bex, congrats...Welcome to the land of travel and traffic jams!

Abz..I know how you feel. Both my OH and I have had sciatica and it isn't nice. I had it really bad when I was PG which went along with the pelvic dysplasia I has so I was in a whole world of pain. But to be honest I rarely get the pain these days. But I have only to lift my son the wrong way and I am out with pain for a few days. My OH was on all kinds of stuff for his. And the physio didn't help at all, as you say made it worse. In the end he had surgery to helo remove some of his protruding disc but because he had to wait so long before they(NHS) did anything the nerve was permanently damaged. And now even after Private surgery, be still has the pain down his leg and his calf muscle is in permanent pain. But luckily he has a high threshold for pain.

Not like me...I stub a finger or toe and I am whailing like a banchee. heheh

Elle, Glad to hear you finally had a porcelain deposit! =-) I am sure you will be fine. Just when you go out just eat what you want but make sure you take your time and stop when your full. Try putting your fork down between bits...and make sure you talk a lot. Please have a tendancey to eat less when they are talking a lot and I know you can do that!! =-)

Elle - the sky did cloud over briefly - that may have been when the earth moved so keep up the good work and I'll watch the clouds. x

debating wether or not I want to start cleaning the house or leave it till tomorrow and just do nothing for a bit until I have to do the dreaded grocery shop!! ahhhhhh.. No more food for me....I started SSing today...so i am a food free zone!!

howdy guys. well my sciatica was a muscular rather than a skeletal problem and i hardly ever get it at all, and when i do it's a bit of a twinge and it goes if i'm careful. the one thing the physio did do which was marvellous was correct my posture. when i originally hurt my back i started standing strangely and tilting my pelvis the wrong way (apparently) because it hurt less if i did. once she'd shown me how to combat that it's been much much better. bit of a bad cycle that, bad back, avoid pain, avoiding pain tactics make your back bad...

and i have noticed over the past year with gaining and losing the same bit of weight again and again that when i was a stone down my back was much better. the huge boobs won't be helping either!!

so that's the plan. i didn't enjoy going, and didn't see any relief after the original get go. and i was going for months and months. i was patient. and after she said what she did i figured once i feel like braving a swimming cossie again i'll go swimming more :)

have just reminded myself that i want to get my old scales out. because i bet i've smashed my previous record before going up in weight again :) on the new ones i'm a lot heavier, ha. so on mine i started my diet at around 16 st and on my cdcs i think i was very close to 17... ha. but usually if i got to 15st 7 on mine i seemed to go back up to 16st 9 again, and then down again... so if i'm under 15st 7 on my old ones (which i'm sure i will be) i'll feel like i've achieved loads, does that make sense? because although i'm counting downwards on my new scales i don't feel like i've lost loads... does that make sense? in any case. i'm sitting here with my soup and i'm going to watch hewitt and federer for a bit :)

where's tyn this aft?

abz xx

Hey Jenn! You can come and clean my house instead if you want, it'll get you out of the house for a bit:p hehe.

Totally catch your drift there abz, i was the same with the 15 stone mark... i'd hit it, well, about 15st 2lbs and then i'd zoom straight back up the scales. its a massive lift when you get under it so get those old scales out!!

How's the match going? I'm a massive Baghdatis fan, being greek cypriot n all (he's about all we've got haha) and im hoping hewitt beats federer so baghdatis has a chance. haha. UNLIKELY! I can't sneakily watch it on bbc sport yet, too many people around. so do let me know what's going on! :) xxx

it's still on serve at the mo hon. both doing well but fed seems to be making silly mistakes...

jenn hon. i would clean the house now. if you go anything like me you'll feel crap and without energy tomorrow so clean it while you can because i couldn't do a thing after about half way through day two. by day three i felt like i was made of lead, ha. saying that i seem to be breezing along without too much trouble now...

abz xx

oh, p.s. it turns out i'm off to tgi's again tomorrow night!! aaaaah. Well, friday was an 'it's the weekend' treat. tomorrow i will have to be more controlled. it's doable. first aim is NO CHIPS. lol...

Abz...hehehe....Yeah I know what you mean. My scales was saying I was 20st 8 ( at the time) and my cdc's said I was 20st 13 (call it 21 st) which is 5 lbs difference. And when I was seeing my personal trainer his was always saying I was 5 lbs more than mine said. So I know that my real weight is 5 more than my scales say. But it doesn't really matter. Weight loss is weight loss no matter who's scales they are..so if I lose 5 or 15 it will show on both. The only thing I hate is that I can't just look down and see the weight as my belly is too big, so I have to lean and I know when I lean over the see the weight that the weight moves up ( even though it is digital). I have been able to tell this because it also tells me my BMI and when I weight myself and not look at the weight it tell and I get off it tells me my BMI...but when I look at the weight and then it tell me the BMI...the BMI is always higher the when I didn't look at the weight, if that makes sense.

Anyway...I am sure I will be losing weight so it doesn't really matter to me.

I am tidying up a bit and watching my 3 YO plan CARS on the wii.
