Ok so i was 100% for 2.5 weeks and told myself il have a day off on sunday that was yesterday. Saying that i had CD in the mornig and afternoon and a good meal in the evening incl dessert. Back on today. Wondering how much thi would have set me back. Today's going ok. Does anybody else have days off? I know it slows everything down and that but are there any health implications to do this I just can't bear the thought of no food until June. :((( any encouragement or advice would be much appreciated.

This is a really good question.. Would like to know that also xx

I've come off SS for dinners that I couldn't avoid. During the dinners I tried to eat mostly protein and veg and avoid the carbs; that said, I did have wine and dessert, so wasn't wholly successful.

When I do this, I up the amount of water I drink and get straight back on SS is the next day. During those weeks, I still lost weight, tho' possibly not as much as I could have. However, sometimes you can't avoid situations life throws at you, so was pleased that I still lost.

If you decide to have a day off, you can minimize the damage by, as you did, having CD for breakfast & lunch and eating the foods suggested for ss+ (chicken, white fish, eggs, certain low carb veg) for dinner. Your CDC will be able to provide you more information on this.

I know of one person who does 100% during the week and ss+ on weekends - and she is losing weight. So if you can't stand the thought of 100% til June, perhaps you can do something like that?

Good luck! I'm sure your weigh-in this week will be fine. :)

I had my weigh in today. Im downham 300grams lol. Dont know whether to laugh or cry apart from Sunday I've been ss the whole week. I am due on so possible that. Im might have to do that actually ss+ sounds good on weekends. Thx for the advice. Xx

Hi! A loss is a loss, so congratulations! You are still headed in the right direction! :)

Keep drinking the water! Often after a small loss, if you keep on the diet and drink loads of water, people experience what they call a "whoosh" and suddenly lose quite a lot of weight.

Good luck!

Thx for the support Tizzy. Ive been on the scales again this morning and it's showing 2kilos down which is about 4 lbs or so. I'm about 6lbs away from 14stone so am really happy.
My goal is 11 stone. Which is roughly where I was before I had my princess 6and half years ago.
Ive lost the weight before but put it back on and
Much more on top, I'm hoping the same won't happen this time round.

Hi Canan,

I started at 14st and my goal is 10st. Took a little detour last week during my skiing holiday - had a lot of fun, but also ate and drank a lot! Am doing ss this week and drinking loads of water to help flush away the gained weight and get myself back on track. So far so good! Will find out for sure on Monday.

I lost about 50lbs over 2 years about 10 years ago. I went up a bit after that (about 20lbs), but managed to stay at that weight for several years. Then I had a relationship go sour on me and ended a work assignment which left me with time on my hands, little to do but mope...and the lbs started to come back on. I keep a workout diary in which I also track my weight and I noticed for about a year after the breakup, I worked out less and didn't track my weight at all. The next time I got on the scale, I'd gained 15+lbs...so of course I didn't weigh myself again for a while and gained more! :sigh:

A friend of mine did CD and lost 50lbs in about 4 months - I was so impressed, I decided to do the same. In reading the diaries, it appears that those who don't do the steps after they reach their goal weight seem to come back to re-lose the weight, so altho' I wasn't going to do the steps, I'm now planning on it. And I'm becoming more conscious of what I'm thinking and how I feel when I get hungry and want to eat - I've discovered I eat for all sorts of reasons that aren't related to being hungry, like: boredom, watching TV, thirsty, just because food is available, feeling deprived, etc., etc. Now I've taken to drinking tea or water when I feel hungry to see if I was really thirsty instead. :)

Dieting isn't easy, even if the weight loss on CD is pretty fast! Like you, I don't want to put the weight back on!!! I'm a ways from moving up the steps, but am looking forward to a process that helps me develop the tools to better manage my eating.

Oh god I don't know what's the matter with me- I've sneakily gone back on the scales today and I've gone back up 4lbs just in a few days. Ok so I've had a sneaky piece of grilled chicken but 4lbs really. That would mean Ive practically stayed the same weight these past two weeks. This is really discouraging. Some one please explain this to me, what's wrong with me. Ok my period is really late but I'm not pregnant.!!!! Aaaaarrrrgggghhh!!!!!

Grilled chicken will not throw you out of ketosis and, unless it was huge, shouldn't impact you too much. Are you drinking 2.5-3 litres of water/tea a day? That really helps! Also, if your period is late, then perhaps that's throwing things off as well - women do experience gain before & during TOTM, which comes off!

Keep hanging in there and drinking the water! Also, unless you have excellent scales and they're in synch with your CDC's (or you know exactly how the two relate) you may want to stop weighing yourself at home.

Have faith - CD works!

Thx tizzy. I just feel at a stand still at the moment. My stomach normally looks flat but its just lookin really bulky these days i feel strangely bloated. I've got that husk stuff but just haven't got round to using it. I'm sure it will start coming off soon. Just wish I'd have this period, does cd have an effect on menstrual cycle does anyone know?

It has had an effect on my cycle. Was a week late last month and so far this month it hasn't happened. I have been telling everyone I have PMT for about 2 weeks and am now beginning to think I'm just a miserable old cow!

Take the phsyllum husk fibre supplement (I'm assuming that's what you mean by "husk stuff"). Most people get quite constipated on CD and it can be uncomfortable.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend! :)

Sunday is going well so far. Feel better today. Hope it will carry on like this. Weekends.. what is it about them? everything is that much more difficult!!

Ok so Sunday was going well. But I just messed up big time. I had a hefty sandwich actually I had 2. I got quite upset today with my other half actually I got really upset and angry I'm thinking it may have been because of that. I hope I cam get back to it tomorrow but I probably did the worst thing by having such heavy carbs.
How is everybody else Sunday going?

Hi
I'm in week 2, started at 14st looking to get to 11st and then see how I go from there. I'd love to be 10st but 11st seems more achievable for now
My first week started ok but I had a rubbish first weigh in. Just a 3lb loss then somehow despite being 100% SS gained 2lb! Soul destroying :-(
But it spurred me on and if I'm tempted to eat, anything, I remind myself I can't afford to waste 40 quid a week on milkshake! Cos I know a couple of mouthfuls of anything will affect my loss
This diet is brutal but it does work if you stick to it. I've managed to drop 10lb according to my scales and the fact that I'm 4lb of getting into the 12's is also keeping me on track ;-)

Hi Canan81

I know the feeling... I am in my first week and ended up drinking a bottle of wine last night and a pack of crisps....it seems stupid as the diet is such hard work so I was angry with myself... I have been good today so hope I lose something on my first weigh in Tuesday evening x Just get back on it.... I am going away in 2 weeks so I dont know what I am meant to do !! ask my other half to take the kids out for tea whilst I have a shake in te caravan LOL and drink water inthe clubhouse x oh well will carry on for now x

I feel sick this morning! I'm sure it was the sandwiches I had yesterday, but I think also I know I got to start over with ketosis- hhhhmmmm
Heres the plan get through as many litres of water as humanly possible. And rollerblade.
Weigh in tomorrow. After last weeks weigh in I shouldn't hav done what I did yesterday im trying not to beat myself up but also can't help thinking what's wrong with me!!!
I just hope I don't come in with a gain - lol.
Also do the bars have any negative affect with getting back into ketosis?
I'm dreading the headaches! Stay Focused!!!

Hi Canan - sorry to hear about your row with the OH and the resulting sandwich attack. The carbs may throw you out of ketosis, so get right back on ss and drink loads of water! Hopefully it will only take a day or two to get back. The diet is tough as it is so restrictive, but it is also easy for the same reason. And the weight comes off fairly rapidly which keeps you motivated. Keep at it! You can do it! :)

CGTW14 - hmmm a bottle of wine is mostly sugar + crisps = carbo load. Not sure what impact that's going to have for you other than perhaps throw you out of ketosis! Hope you don't have a sore head today from the wine.

I went away for a ski week and purposely went off CD for it - in the mountains you need the carbs and calories not only to ski, but to keep warm, as you're outside pretty much all day. However, I didn't need to drink all the wine, cosmos, mojitos that I did... :p I made a point of drinking at least 2 ltrs of water a day if not more, which was tricky as it had to happen after the skiing (there are not a lot of toilets on the slopes and I didn't fancy exposing myself to the elements!). I was lucky and only gained 1.5lbs. Some posters have told me they gained 5-9lbs on their weeks off. Everyone is different.

Later this month I'm driving over to Ireland from Netherlands to visit some friends and explore the country a bit. I will be bringing CD with me and have already told my friends that I'm on a very restrictive diet. That said, I do plan to have *some* fun - I'm looking forward to eating meat, veg, salads and having the odd glass of wine. Perhaps even a guinness - I mean, really, I'd be remiss not to wouldn't I???
Basically, I'm planning to do CD for morning and lunch and then managing dinner very carefully. As I'm not skiing or doing other intense exercise this trip, my goal is just not to gain any weight. If I still lose, that would be a bonus! :) And, being a bit of a control nut - not only are the CD products coming with me, so are my scales! I figure if I monitor myself daily (as I do at home), I can minimize any damage.

Good luck with your weigh-in Tuesday![/INDENT]

Ok so I didn't feel very hungry this morning I just had a bar. I now know I get weak when food presents itself to me. Although that wasn't the case yesterday. :) Ilooked in my diary I'm supposed to be 92kilos on the weigh tomorrow. Have to keep this going. I have to I keep telling myself.

Canan I've exactly the same but my blips led to several weeks of one off SS+ing with binges inbetween which of course led to gaining 6 pounds from a 13 pounds lose. Don't go there and keep focused you can do it. Now you've experienced the blip and how awful it leaves you feeling you are unlikley to do it again. Bars are usually avoided for the first 2 weeks on CD so as to get one accustomed to drinking the 2.5litres or so of water so provided you are drinking the requisite amount of water having a bar a day should be fine and shouldn't affect you losses. You can do it you managed 2.5 weeks so it means you have the willpower to stick at this. Remember you are not alone we all have moments of hunger pangs even when in ketosis, or feeling of deprivation or mssing out on socialising but this is not forever. We can do it!
