How are we all doing with the book, I don't seem to have had much time for reading this week but I do manage a few pages each night I'm about 1/4 of the way through. Anybody finished yet?

I am re reading it and I do find Art so annoying, he expects her- Ruth to do everything, I want to slap him!
That's cos I recognise myself of course!

I have not read very much of it maybe only one chapter or possibly two.
I will try and read more.
It will have to take precendence over the other three books I am reading at the same time.

So how is everybody doing with the book?
I hope you are not all bored with it (seeing as it was my suggestion!)
Was reading some of it last night and I thought the section where she, Ruth is so scared of her mother getting dementia was very poignant.
It is one of the things that is so hard to cope with when our mothers get old, they are the people who have looked after us in our most vulnerable times and now...it is like things have come full circle and it is really hard to deal with.
And then there are all those conflicting emotions...Ruth's mother drives her mad, she is so annoying and yet Ruth just wants to protect her now...
Any other thoughts on the book at all?
