Credenhill's Diary

Bloomin 'eck LoChan - it sounds like a flippin' stagecoach!!! Hope it rights itself soon - whatever you pulled!!

That's exactly what I meant about munching away but really not enjoying ... nothing ever seems to hit 'the spot' so it's obviously not about food - but hey..... just have to get in CONTROL!!!

I have been for a bit of swimming (or in my case floundering around) practice with OH. Wasn't 100% comfy in pool full of lane swimmers but just tried to stay focussed, especially when I realised that there was also a cafe full of people looking down ....... hmmmmmmm **cringe cringe, make self as invisible as poss - if ONLY - focus focus**

Still - made it through - mostly muttering to myself about how no-one is interested in what I'm doing or what I look like - even though every time I look up somebody is looking at me ... no they're not - no they're not, I just happen to be in their eyeline mutter mutter mutter, focus focus focus ..........

I can't say I enjoyed it but I'm glad I went as my Instructor on a Monday is always going on about how I need practice in between ... so I've done it - this week anyway!

Caroline, yes your cheerfullness IS contagious - thank you for that.

Will be biting the bullet at SW later, have been drinking gallons of green tea with lemon this morning - like THAT can make up for the rest of the week!!

Will check in later or MUCH later at work with result - but don't hold your breath ....

Enjoy the rest of your day everybody!

Ouch - those buses are dangerous. Remember the Little Gems? Lucky we are still alive haha! Hope you are not in too much pain :(

Have got the Mutton Stew and baby cauliflower and broccoli. I keep staring at the mini-bottle of champagne in the fridge - I got three of them real cheap in the post-New Year sales - have been firm and told myself I can have one once I've got underneath that 19 stone mark.

Aspartame - Lochan, remember you saying about aspartame. I also don't like some of the research I read even though I know some of it is scare tactics, but there is a good bit of research linking aspartame to migraines and as a sufferer I'm keen to avoid the stuff. Well, Sainsbury's own diet drinks do not contain aspartame - they have sucralose, i.e Splenda. There's some scare stories re sucralose but from what I can tell, the doses being talked about are pretty much really "out there". Got to be better than aspartame anyway :D

Had a quiet day work wise which has made me tired - weird, I know. I blame the lack of adrenalin hehe!

Mn feeling much better for doing the walking and swimming today, wasn't quite the best weather for it but I powered through and seemed to ease the pains a bit.

I bought some of the agave nectar stuff for coffees now, it's a natural sweetener plus I'm trying to get onto non-dairy milks. Not too keen on soya but oat milk is quite sweet if watery looking, goes quite well in drinks :) Also tried having yasai yaki soba at wagamama today without the egg to make it vegan and really didn't feel deprived or anything... Though after my swim I went and had vegan chocolate fudge cake in the 8th day cafe, oops lol

Back to being more stern tom'ow and finishing off my DC meals, think I've got 5 days left to last me through to monday so hope for a maintain or a 1lb loss or something with four days on plan before monday (not kept track overly yesterday and today).

I hope you are feeling better! We had lots of ice in Devon this morning and since the local county don't grit many of the roads - we were being advised to not make your journey unless absolutely necessary. Anyway with school (too far to walk -4 miles- with 4 children)and work, I decided it was a necessity, 2 of mine slid over on pavement and then another friend went to cross road skidded and fractured arm stayed with her 'till ambulance came. Poor love as she is 28 weeks preggers. Have found out in cast and babe scanned and OK.

Oh god, hope she stays okay and gets plenty of rest. I'm going to be so worried about going out next time I have a baby (which prolly won't be for another 3 years or so yet but laying the groundwork now getting healthy). It's bad enough with ice and stuff but even if the weather's fine there's always rude people about to give you a shove or whatnot heh.

Still, Devon must be bloory lovely when there's no ice about the rest of the year lol Been to Woolacombe Bay once on holiday with parents, dunno if that's in Devon exactly? Would love holidaying down that way more often but don't drive so it's tricky getting there and about once we're down lol

Woolacombe is North Devon and it is beautiful! We did a Sun holiday to there and had a fab time! We are in the South which is also really pretty and we are lucky to live in a town close to the beach and a few miles up the road we have the moors.

Hi, we did woolacombe last christmas was lovely. I am a part cornwall lass, mum & dad did an early break in 1970 in January (dad worked on farms it was his quiet time) and hey presto out I popped October.

But my mum and dad took us kids to Cornwall everyyear to Marazion, I have only missed one year so I have gone to Cornwall for 38 years and I love it. My friend Shelley worked up in Kent with me, went to Cornwall and stayed Married and have 2 littuns and now I am a god mother to them so have loads of excuses to go down. I am going to Cornwall in may for a week. Cant wait:D

Oh dear Laura, I hope your friend is okay.

Agave Nectar - sounds fascinating hehe! Is it as thick as honey like they say? I'm curious to know what it's like.

I've noticed there is an abundant of fructose syrup stuff available in the supermarket since Cook Yourself Thin was on TV. I'm studying the chemistry of fats, carbs and protein at the moment and it's all fascinating hehe! Not honestly sure why there's this thing about fruit sugars being better than any other sugar - it's all broken down to basic sugars, just that most fruit sugars come with the fibre ;) Take away the fibre and it is still sugar.

Another DC day ahead :D And nearly weekend - woohoo! :D

It looks like honey yeah, I'm not sure if it tastes like it yet - I've got the mild one and a darker one and have only used the mild one in coffee. Might try some with plain yoghurt (heh eating the dairy while it's still in m'fridge) later on.

Mn know what you mean about sugars, that's why I mentioned about the sugars in fruits per 100g - think the recommendation is anything with over 12g is something not to be overly consumed and isn't going to be very low-GI either. Think that's another thing against splenda and stuff, tis high GIness... Though I've not stuck to my giving up having pepsi max at home I was trying to adhere to before christmas. If I'm contemplating giving up animalness it's hard taking that away too lol

Hiya :)

Apparently, according to the NHS website - 15g per 100g is the max and anything 5g and below is considered low in sugar. This is kind of the reason I dislike fruit juice fasts so much - there are so many micronutrients and other things in fruit pulp and it all gets thrown away. Smoothies done with whole fruit are better.

I don't find Splenda in my coffee bothers me blood sugar wise, but Diet Coke makes me hungry. I've heard that artificial sweeteners can make you hungry. But who knows! I just go off how I feel and hope the rest falls into place.

I've been mega-hungry today but managed to hold on and resist the stodge - I'm starting to miss one of my favourites and with Friday tomorrow, it's on my mind. The Friday takeaway can be no more hehe! Not sure why I've been so hungry - but guess there are going to be days like this. Just have to live with them.

My only complaint re DC at the moment - my trousers are falling down. If I trip over and break my neck, I'll sue :p Not managed to check out whether I've dropped a size yet - will have to grab a tape measure and see what I get. My waist feels smaller - the fat around my stomach is more watery (hope that makes sense).

Roll on Friday :D

Happy to hear your trousers are smaller too Caroline!! That's some achievement :):)

I can't tell much from clothes because I tend to wear things that either expand and contract with me or which are designed to cover a multitude of sins anyway so it's hard to notice any difference. I do have one or two things which I try from time to time that I can tell a difference in. I won't be trying them for several more pounds yet though.

........ you could always try a belt ;);)

Mn I'm getting down some more belt notches again at least lol I've got size 22 jeans atm though dunno if I am that size officially as got a dress in that size which doesn't quite fit yet. From evans which is weird as I'm a 20/22 in their bottoms stuff and a 18 in their tops *shrugs* then I go somewhere else and have no chance in their versions of those sizes

Think should definitely start tracking actual measurements, it could be an option on the challenge thingy but not everyone wants to post there's even if they don't know anyone else in real life *shrugs* - might bring it up for the next one or something - it's good for the NSV board at least lol

I wouldn't want to post measurements - not because of anyone else knowing what they are but because I don't want to know what they are!! :( :)

I know what clothes sizes I am but I've never translated them into inches ......

Yeah, not sure about a measurements challenge - I often can't be that bothered with the tape measure and just go off clothes.

Went to bed early last night to avoid the munchies. My stomach was rumbling. Hopefully today will be a better day and that hunger has gone.

Got the tomato pasta for dinner - reached the bottom of the box and discovered a few packs of this hiding away. May put them away in the cupboard and have them every so often. I have added chicken to it before and that was okay - may do that tonight to up the protein.

Hope everyone is having a good day :D

Hi Caroline - I didn't get the tomato pasta meal - but I don't think I am missing anything by the sounds of it! I wonder how they decide what they give you as I ordered over the phone as the DC website was having probs with orders! I can't believe I am nearly 1/2 way thro my 2nd week! and thanks Caroline I have had a nice but busy day!! I ought to be really slim the amount of running around I do! At work now and will be here all night! (This 2nd job pays for the hols!)

Hope work went well Laura :D I'm not sure how they decide what to put in a box. Suppose it depends on what they have in I guess. I had the tomato pasta last night, added a load of veg and some chicken and was actually rather nice. Followed it up with a dessert of olives :p

Have received my Go Lower stuff and organised that to some extent - going to start that on Monday. I know with them you can alter the contents of the box without additional charge so I got extra chicken curry instead of the mushroom strogonoff.

Cats got me up really early - two pronged attached from the two oldest at 0600 hours. Don't think kitties believe in a lie in :(

Hope you all have a good day :D

My cats have a 'bedroom' of the downstairs bathroom so they can't do that sort of thing lol

I ordered my DC box from the website and got to pick all the quantities for my stuff? Best getting it from there when the site is working :)

Think I've just had about 12 hours in bed, not all of it asleep but stillness is good heh. Not much happening this weekend but working all next week so don't really want to be getting up to much now. Hope it recharges m'batteries!

Hehe great idea re separate bedroom for kitties.

Hope you feel better from all the rest.

Diet didn't go so good today, but will see on Monday if there's any damage. It is hard to keep track on Saturdays and sometime isn't as bad as I think.

Totally shattered - going to curl up in bed. "Speak" to you all tomorrow. Have a good one :D

Have had the usual mad day - I got in at 9am after night shift - didnt get woken so dozed from midnight till 6 am. Always feel a bit spaced out the next day!

Did the weekly shop and got colleagues leaving pressie from the team! A bread maker! and then got home as DH and children arrived back from walking dog, DH had just been badly bitten by a neighbours dog :( and needed hospital treatment! Nightmare...He had to have steristrips, antibiotics and tetanus, its quite a deep bite. I then had to get DD to a party and ended up leaving her with a friend and collected DH from hospital.

We hardly ever seem to get through a week without a drama of some kind.

The weather tonight is WILD its raining really hard and the wind is so noisy.... Have 2 DS's tucked up next to me in bed as they woke with all the noise of the windows rattling etc...

Will be getting head down soon as tired. My Skitty sleeps in airing cupboard downstairs and is shut out of hall way all night!

Dont dramas always happen at the worst time. (((((BIG HUGS))))) hope hubby is okay.
Well we hve rain again today but at least the wind has stopped it was howling through the chimney breasts last night. but all is calmer today, going to take the dog out for a walk and Deanna wants to go to the beach but will wear her wellies cause of the puddles, never mind the rain, But heyho just going with the flow but wondering if I should heat up a soup for me at lunchtime and put in thermos. Just in case don't want to get cold and end up going to a cafe and eating junk....
