:sign0009:please don't b offended but I nearly wet myself when I read yer food 4 2day n saw irish stew made wif quorn! I kno yer a vegetarian n I eat quorn myself sumtimes but 4 sum reason it never occurred 2 me that irish stew cud b made that way. In fairness I'm so intrigued that I must make it 2 try....

Hehe it is my mums doing. I think she feels bad making the proper stuff for everyone and feels like I am missing out, bless her. I wouldn't normally do it myself but she uses quorn mince in it as well. I normally just use the veg and it still tastes grand.

Def having my hot choc today!
 
Thursday

Breakfast sw rice pudding with greek yogurt and berries 0.5 syns.

Lunch 2 asda mf burgers 1 syn and sw wedges with beetroot, peas and red onion, 1/3 Hea cheese.

Hot choc 2 syns with spray of aerosol cream 1 syn, hi fi light (half heb)

Dinner- mash, sweetcorn, beans, cheese 2/3 hea and quorn peppered steak.

Ryvitta minis, hi fi ligh (rest of heb). G and T 3 syns

So I am now 30. And definitely no wiser! Suffering from a bad hangover today after a party last night. I have to admit the past few days have not been sw friendly at all! I will be googling some free comfort food recipes shortly.

Friday- my birthday

Breakfast in bed- berries and yogurt (free), half a croissant with jam, coffee.
Lunch- banana, hifi light bar, 2 slices wm bread, quorn ham, dairylea and mustard (in car on way to hotel), Jacobs cream cracker and bit of cheddar..
We were to have afternoon tea but I booked a spa experience instead which was great (mud rasul).
Dinner- garlic mushrooms and dip with salad (???syns) and a filo parcel filled with cider apple chutney and goats cheese. Lots of salad and some chips.
I was so stuffed after that I had no dessert or even my cake (it still hasn't been cut!). 2 half glasses of prosecco and a cosmo (25 ish syns).

Saturday
Breakfast at hotel: beans, mushrooms, tomato, hash brown, 3 slices wm bread (heb). Museli and fruit (heb) with a little yogurt (3 syns).
Peanut hifi bar .
Lunch- piece if baguette with quorn steak, cheddar and red onion. Piece of my mums birthday cake (she was 70!).
Party- no sw food here I am afraid. I was not that organised and I am annoyed because I could easily have been. Just a group of friends at home (1 was 30 yesterday and I was on Friday, another in a few weeks); crisps, jelly beans, sun dried tomatoes, lots and lots of alcohol. 2 small slices of pizza. Some more alcohol. Mostly made with raspberry sorbet blended with gin, blackberry vodka, g&t's. A mix at one point of a bit of everything available blended with sorbet. Not an advert for drinking responsibly and certainly a recipe for a rotten hangover!

Sunday-
Brunch- 1/3 of a choc croissant, 1/3 of croissant and jam, 1/3 maple pecan slice. 2 slices wm bread and lmc red onion sausages. Coffee. Tea. Lots of water.
Dinner- depends on who feels like making something! It will be stodgy comfort food I expect. And I will probably have to cut my cake before it goes off.
 
No breakfast, struggling with a bit of a tummy bug. Not being sick but minutes after I eat/drink my stomach goes into spasm and it is pretty painful!

Lunch- 2 slices of wm bread, marmite and dairylea. Cup of tea.

I have a large pot of free tomato soup made so when I feel a bit better I will tuck into that. Family coming out to dinner tonight and bringing takeaway. Not too bad as I don't really do takeaway so I will avoid, unless they hit the Indian. Might mean a bit of cake or something afterwards though.

UPDATE:

Had a bowl of the soup in afternoon. Didn't bother having any takeaway but had a pasta bake dish (Tesco light choices 2 syns) for dinner with some sweetcorn and a half of a caramel slice (4 syns).

Hey chick, sounds like u had a gr8 b'day n w/end! Don't give the food/drink/syns a 2nd thought cos u only turn 30 once n u shud b able 2 njoy it guilt-free, any "consequences" can b dealt wif in the next weeks if needs b :)

ps: blackberry vodka.....sounds amazin! If I wasn't breastfeedin I'd b lookin 4 suma that! lol! :D

Thanks missus, it was a big birthday so I don't feel too bad about it tbh! The blackberry vodka is homemade- well, we flavour it ourselves and it has been left for quite a while (not worth drinking with the kids waking you up at the craic of dawn!) so it tasted so much better than I remembered! Hoping to get a start on my sloe gin soon as well for Christmas.
 
Tuesday

Today was weigh in day and I put on half a pound. I was happy enough with that- I think a loss would have been a birthday miracle, so on the whole not too bad.

Still feeling quite rough and sorry for myself today! Definitely blaming DS1 for bringing a bug home from playgroup, it is that time of year.


Breakfast- 2 slices of wm bread, marmite, dairylea triangle.

Mid-afternoon- free tomato soup, 2 quorn ham and quark roll ups.

Dinner- mash, carrot and parnsips, cabbage, quark, garlic and mushroom sauce, quorn peppered steak.

Pineapple delight- using all my syns on this.
 
Argh just did a big post and lost it!

Weighed in with a half pound gain today- given the weekend I have had I am happy enough with that. A loss was never on the cards so hopefully get that off plus some next week.

Still feeling rotten with this bug type thing I have so been rather sorry for myself today!

Sloe gin u say!? Yer a woman after my own heart - I LOVE sloe gin! :D I aven't made any in years tho. Do u just make the blackberry vodka in the same way then? I'l mayb try 2 make sum......

Well done on a measly 0.5lb gain 2 by the way, that rocks! I'm gutted 2 report ANOTHER STS 4 me this week. Not sure wat the craic is wif that but I'm gona ave 2 shake things up a bit n try 2 get the scales movin in the rite direction
 
Yes the blackberry vodka is pretty much the same- blackberries and sugar in the bottle and shake it everyday or so for a few weeks. Raspberry vodka is even nicer- perfect if you get some cheap mushy reduced price ones- goes a lovely colour as well!

I think I was lucky not to gain more this week- maybe it will creep up and surprise me next week but I hope not.
Posted about your STS on your thread; maybe change it up with your hexs and keep drinking the water- have you tried scan bran? If you make a wee cake to snack on or have some scan bran pizzas? I find it helps speed things up- I will prob try that this week.
 
Wednesday-

Really trying to be good this week. I still have more nights/lunches out for my birthday planned (the longest birthday in history lol) so aim is to be 100% other than these times and make good choices whilst I'm out.

Breakfast- sw rice pudding and berries.

Lunch- superspeed soup, 2 slices wm bread (heb) topped with tomatoes and cottage cheese mixed with spring onion, garlic and chilli.

HiFi Peanut bar (heb)

Dinner at mums - quorn turkey burgers (no idea of syns but no breadcrumbs etc. so assuming they are free or low), salad, few chips 3 syns, onion ring 1.5 syns Mars bar ice cream 7.5 syns.

Thanx 4 yer post on my thread chick. I noticed u mentioned scan bran on here, I'v never tried it tbh. How many r u allowed as a HX? Also (sorry 2 b really dense but...) when u say scan bran pizza do u mean scan bran wif stuff on top or is it pizza base made from scan bran like the way u make scan bran cake? xx
 
It is 5 scan bran per heb. I make scan bran pizza usually by putting the toppings on it and grilling them or using salsa and cheese on top just as they are. You can make a pizza base from it too, i think you soak it in stock and mash into shape then bake but i have never tried it. I usually make smash pizza which is apparently a no-no!

You can get it in holland and barrett.

I actually made scan bran porridge this morning- soaked in a little hot water, zapped it in micro. Added a dash of milk and sweetner zapped it again. It actually wasnt bad and pretty filling. Made a quite respectable size bowl of food as well!

Brwakfast can bran porridge (heb) and a banana.

Lunch veg soup and jacket potato

Apple.

Dinner out with the girls from work for a wee birthday dinner. Nothing fancy just noodles and a good gossip! Ordered diet coke, i didnt get a diet coke grrr. Had a bowl of noodle soup with lots of veg. Doubt it would be that many syns i need to check. God knows how many syns for the full fat coke lol.

Had a chewy delight bar when i got home- heb.

7 syns for a can of coke?!! Ridiculous. Next time i will send it back! I only had one of the bottles (200 or 250ml) so prob about 5 syns. Not aure how to syn the noodles- fresh veg, noodles and a broth. Def a bit of oil in there so it wasnt free but i didnt use any more syns yesterday and i would like to think 10 would more than cover it!

Lunch jacket potato, baked beans, cottage cheese. Orange.

Dinner was a free veg and lentil curry with boiled rice.

Snack- ryvitta minis (heb), 2 dairylea triangles (rest of hea), pickled onions, cherry tomatoes, 2x quorn sausages (2 syns). Galaxy caramel slice (7.5 syns).

Saturday

Had a really lovely day yesterday. Out shopping with my mum and sister and had lunch in avoca. Then out with friends last night at manic street preachers, which was awesome! Not so good on the syns though as had a few too many drinks, a great night nonetheless.

Breakfast- alpen light (1/2 heb) and yogurt.

Lunch- superfood salad- squash, baby leaves, edamame beans, sugar snap peas, broccoli, blueberries, tomatoes, quinoa, feta (heb); asked for the dressing on the side and didn't bother with it so lunch was free. I passed on all the gorgeous desserts and traybakes and had a coffee instead.

Alpen light bar (1/2 heb)

Dinner- beans, mash and lmc red onion sausages.

Saturday night- several gin and tonics and a bit of west coast cooler. ???? syns!

Had toast and dairylea when I got home, better than a pizza anyway.

Sunday
had a lovely lie in thanks to dh, had half a grapefruit for breakfast.
Lunch pasta n sauce with peas and asparagus 0.5 syns.
Dinner cottage pie (free) with quorn mince and lots of veg. Small piece of garlic bread 4.5 syns.
Did some baking with the kids and made myself a chocolate scan bran cake which i ate all of during the evening! 4 syns for the cake and my heb.

So not too bad over the paat couple of days and on plan as well which is good!
