*deep breath* my journey to a thinner / healthier me

Thanks :D

I've messed it all up now as I've just had a soak in the bath - am making the most of it because it's just going to be showers for a fortnight :giggle:

I am sooooooooooo excited, just keeping everything crossed that we don't get delayed this time as we should be well on our way this time next week now :woohoo:

I'll be thinking of you next week when I'm at WI :)

I hope you're not delayed too x

I'll add my voice to the choir - the hair is fab!!!

6 days til your jollies Em, you lucky thing!! You will be looking sooo fabulous with your new 'do' and lovely new clothes :D

Morning everyone :wavey:

I've been up since 06.00 this morning and I'm absolutely shattered as I normally get up at 7.25 each day, I hope it doesn't carry on like this or I can see me spending most of our holiday sleeping :giggle:

I'm really not in the mood for food today and I have no idea why. I've just had some beans on toast for breakfast as I know I'll start picking if I'm not careful and I really don't want that. I think I might pack a fruit salad for lunch to take to mum's and then maybe have cheesy pasta tonight (something nice and easy that I don't have to put too much thought into)

I'm trying to think what I want to wear to travel in. I'm really not sure at the moment, but so far I'm thinking about a pair of loose trousers (which I need to turn up as they're too long) and a vest top. I don't want to wear anything uncomfortable as I know the arm rests will be digging in when we take off and land (unless the stewardesses are nice and let us have the arm rest up the whole time).

And I now need to go and buy factor 50 for Chris, the guard to his clippers broke last night and I've had to shave his head with no guard on, so he is almost bald :8855: I'll get him to take me to boots or matalan this morning so I can grab him some extra sun cream :giggle:

How about a dress for the plane? Nice and comfy :) And a cardy too as planes can be chilly sometimes.

I'd love to wear a maxi dress for the plane, but I'd be mortified if I had to have the extra body scan like last time, you know the ones they do with the paddle things? :giggle:

We went through the metal detector thing and nothing went off, but I think they have to choose like 1 person out of so many to do an extra scan on, so unlucky me was the one that got picked having stand there in a star jump position almost, and all Chris could do was laugh at me because I looked petrified apparently :8855:

Yeah, I went through that one fine, no problems at all :)

They might be different now because it's almost 3 years ago that we went last time

I'm really not keen on flying yet, I've only ever been on a plane 4 times (tunisia and back then turkey and back), and focusing on something silly like the security procedure etc distracts me

It's ok x Just think of the security procedure as the best thing about flying. I always think that. I think these people are making the plane nice and safe. That way when I see people moaning about taking shoes off etc I smile as that aren't thinking what I'm thinking. Plus its like 10 mins out of the whole holiday :)

:giggle: I found it really funny when I had to take my flip flops off

emily your flying from manchester aren't you ? they use the booths and only do the hand scan if something odd shows on the scan. there softwhere is quite intelligent and can identify most things like bra wires etc. i had no problem when we flew to munich last year but did on the way back cos munich's wasn't as sophisticated :giggle:
My daughter is doing a degree in flight technology and eventually wants to work for the air crash investigation board she always tells me that flying is the safest mode of transport and more people are killed crossing the road each year

her really helpful tip last time i flew was too sit at the back of the the plane, cos you have never seen a plane reverse into a mountain have you :giggle:

your hair looks great and will be so much cooler xxxxxx

don't know about you getting excited i am getting excited for you :D

Thank you Mandy :D

Yes we're flying from manchester, I'd read about those booths, but wasn't 100% sure if every single passenger had to go through them or not :giggle: I like to be well prepared and know what's going to happen lol, I think a lot of it comes from when we went to tunisia I was so nervous as I'd never been on a plane before and I was literally crying, and all my aunty could do was take the mick, not reassure me or anything, so I get really worked up and tense until we're actually up in the air (I'm hoping that taking my camera will help to distract me when we're in the air as I want to take some pictures from the window). Were sitting at the back of the plane, row 39 :D Chris insisted on sitting at the back of the plane as he says we'll be one of the first to board (I can't remember in which order we boarded when we went last time)
