Been doing slimming world for about 7weeks now and had some really good loses but last week i was really ill with cramping and constipation (sorry if tmi!!) the pain kept me up all night and i'm stuck in a rut now with my sleeping pattern back to front. I couldn't eat much and ending up staying the same at weigh in. Still not feeling 100% and keep finding myself just snacking all the time as I can't find the energy to cook meals. Think I am going to end up gaining this week :(.

Sorry for the long essay think what I'm basically asking is has anyone got any idea how I can get my sleeping pattern back to normal and kick start the plan again?
 
Hello mrs.

The first and most important thing to do is to focus on your health and get better. You will not be able to do sw if you're ill so I wouldn't worry too much about sw for now.

What you could do is make some soup.. Chuck some veg in a pot with some stock and seasoning and blitz once done.. That way you will have something nice and filling and still sw friendly.

As for the sleep.. A method I used to use is stay awake for as long as possible.. So I'd not sleep at night and for most if the day and go to bed early evening.. Say 7pm.. That way it slowly starts to get into sync.. And slowly but surely it'll get back to normal xxx

Firstly MrsMcG, Roziee is right; your health comes first. Accept a gain- you know why it's happened and it's not because you've eaten a pack of custard creams. I had a similar problem just last week and actually ended up in a&e because of it, NHS direct advised me that constipation and back pains are baaaaaaad and as soon as that starts a trip to the GP is a must ( I didn't see mine, hence why I ended up in a&e).

Constipation is awfully uncomfortable and I too had trouble sleeping. I've only just got back to normal with my "movements" so the best thing for me was to try to stick to plan as closely as possible and try to get a load of bowel friendly fruit down- pineapple and kiwi helped me and I also changed my HEB to scan bran. I managed a 2.5lb loss- you can too!

Do you drink? I must admit that a sneaky G&T helped me too :) Synned of course. Good luck! Everyone round here loves a good poo thread so don't be embarrassed xx

JezVonSausage, I have been having a lot of back pain too. Think I will make an appointment with my gp this morning!! What do you do with scran bran? Can it be eaten "raw"?
 
Scan Bran is a bit like Ryvita but not as tasty- you can buy it in group or Holland & Barrett (but i've never tried those ones). I tend to have it with cottage cheese and salad. Give it a go xx

I LOVE scan bran! I did the challenge of having 5 everyday, I made sure I drank plenty but it had no effect on my weightloss. Odd!
