Diary of a menopausal Yorkshire lass...

Hi Mandy, bad few days, (see my thread) I really like that oats and yogurt. Could take that to WI in the morning.

Good on clean bill of health from dentist. How is the No1 cat?

My kiddies have just got a kitten, ginger and white, mostly ginger. She is gorgeous. I do like cats, but do not have any now.

Catch up soon

Thursday 8th August - Green Day

I didn't get weighed this morning, but decided to measure my waist instead - 36" isn't the healthy range supposed to be under 32"?
I MUST stick to it this time.
I've nothing much planned today other than work and going to the dentist for a check up and polish. I was going to bunk off work early and join a new group, but as I'm already nipping out to the dentist, then finishing early tomorrow to take number 1 puss cat to his cardiologist, I decided there is only so much bunking off a girl can do in one week!
I hope my dentist doesn't find anything...

Is your cat ok? How many cats do you have? I love cats, I think they're such amazing creatures. I love how independent they are and how they always come first and foremost rather than thinking about others lol

Evening!
I have 2 cats, Bailey 9 1/2 and Charlie 8. We found out in March that Bailey has serious heart disease, fortunately he's insured and our vet has a very good cardiologist so we're managing to keep him going with lots of tablets. He's not suffering at all, just slowing down. The little monster has us both firmly under the paw!!
Your cat looks a cutie, have you just one?
Off to check your diary Doreen...

Aw bless him. Glad hes ok. Cats are like that aren't they, they know how to tug at your heart strings and get their own way!

Yep just the one cat, hes called bobby, hes 13 but still doing really well for his age! He is a rascal tho, he knows how to get his own way lol. He's so noisy, hes very vocal and is always meowing.

Morning!
I've so blown it! We ended up with friends round last night that we haven't seen in ages, so the wine started flowing and a takeaway was ordered...
I can't have been too bad cos I feel fine this morning, but I guess I will have blown all my syns. I now have to have the absolute minimum until Wednesday :(
I got the Mayflower curry from home bargains, it was 99p for a box that will do us 3 times!! It's a plastic box of seasoning, but you can get the sauce frozen from somewhere.
Thanks Doreen, I'll look out for that diary. I tend not to look at 'Green' ones because they always seem to involve quorn and lots of veg :)

Ah shame we don't have a home bargains round here! Wish we did it sounds fab.

What recipe do you use for your 5 bean chilli? I love chilli

Baked beans are super speed, I've just checked my little list!!!!:D

I agree they are super-speed but not super free. I should have realised you meant super speed when I saw butter beans too.

It has made me re-look at super speed items again. Thanks ;)for that anyway

Thanks for your suggestions, I definitely could do some more super speed food.
We've just got back from a late lunch out, I do really struggle eating out. What does everyone else have?
My latest favourite easy meal is cheats 5 bean chilli, it's simply heinz 5 beans and chilli powder and it's really nice. You can add other bits to it if you like, I have it with rice and a bit of cheese.

Morning Mandy, we are very lucky here to have 2 restaurants that have sw friendly meals and 2 Chinese as well , I always struggle to stay on plan when I eat out too,
All I can think of to eat is either salads with meat , baked potatoes or maby omelettes , can you tell them in the restaurants that you are doing sw and ask them for recommendations from their menus
This has got to be a plan for life to get the weight off us both and keep it off too so we really need to sort this out. Have you asked your consultant, she may have local knowledge of places beside you
I would be really interested to see how other people get on when out too

Failing that maby cut back on the eating out, and use the money you save to get some nice new clothes or wee treats for yourself

When I go out we usually go to the indian or mediterranean, the India is the worse really to chose from so I'll go for tomato or non cheese/creamy meals, I always have rice & very rarely have chips when going out, the mediterranean is easy as it's usually fish, chicken, pasta with veggies.

We went to a pub whilst out walking recently & we both wanted chicken in garlic & lemon, with salad & chips, so me & Bob swapped I had his salad & he had my chips, see below, delicious, I've no idea how the chicken was cooked but for me it was syn free:rolleyes:
