Diary of a menopausal Yorkshire lass...

What is the batchalors savoury rice your all talking about ?

It comes dried in little paper sachets, you can get it in all sorts of flavours and it's free. All supermarkets do it, in the pot noodle, pasta n sauce type aisle. I've tried mild curry hot and it was ok.

My morning so far...

My husband was up and off early this morning, waking me up with his banging and clattering, so I thought right...cooked breakfast!

Bearing in mind that I'm all thumbs in the morning, not to mention the grumpiest person on the planet, I was sort of resigned to the fact that I was doomed. Got into kitchen and realised OH hadn't given Bailey his tablets which is always fun (not) he has 3 which we wrap in wafer thin chicken, this morning he was on a roll and managed to eat the chicken and spit the tablets out several times, then he needed a bowl of cat milk to wash them down. The Charlie his brother appeared wondering where his chicken was. Then I couldn't find my small frying pan, then I could only find a large tin of beans, then I dropped and egg. I finally got my eggs in the pan and beans in the microwave when the cats decided to have an almighty fight because I wouldn't let them back out. By the time I'd screamed at them my omelette was stuck firmly to the bottom of the pan (how do you make an omelette without oil?) dished it up and ate it with Charlie stuck to my leg playing dejected puss cos he'd been beaten up.

Maybe cooking in a rush isn't for me. I was pleased to come to work where I can hide in my office and the lads know not to approach me until gone 10.
Breakfast however was YUM :D

I actually think I'm starting to lose the plot - maybe its alcohol withdrawal?
Hope your wedding went well x

Definitely! The bbq one is the highest syns for 8 a packet, in reality there was probably only a third of it there if that. It's very tasty and best of all very easy!

Yeah, I'm all for convenience when cooking, I have to be in the mood to cook from scratch, and as you say it's hard to get the taste. The maggi bags are great.

Saturday 31st August

A busy day today. We got lots of house jobs done, then constructed a new flower bed in the front garden. OH got a bit carried away and we now have a 3 tiered one! It looks a bit odd at the mo, but should be lovely when it's planted up. V strange - I've not been hungry today!

It really makes you forget about food when you have something like that to do. Must do my newish bed soon.

Went for a good walk yesterday, and on way back home met some friends so went back to theirs for drink (diet coke). They gave us a lift to their house but we walked back so extended or walk by about a mile, so feel pretty good about that. Also came back armed with fresh raspberries and courgettes. Had some raspberries last night and got some more for today. Rest have just put into sugar free jelly for the next few days. Don't like courgettes so OH will eat those. Being outside does take your mind off food and helps burn those calories.

That sounds like a pretty perfect day! X
