Diary of a menopausal Yorkshire lass...

:sigh:
I'm only posting this because I promised myself I would keep a check on the horror that is my pre-Christmas diet

Breakfast - Bran flakes and milk

Lunch - large turkey stuffing and cranberry baguette, iced chocolate cookie, three bags of hoops and crosses

My reasoning behind the hoops and crosses is I don't like them very much so they need removing from my desk drawer.
Am I quite right in the head?
:17729:
Goodness knows what I'll have when I get home...

Treat your taste buds like royalty..... don't assault them with things you don't like .... it's just not worth it... enjoy some glorious goodies instead x

I know, it's mad, I need to stop using my stomach as a garbage bin.
The last packet has been given away :)

It's hard to throw things away, even if you don't like them. But honestly, it's no more wasteful to put something in the waste bin than it is to eat it unless you're absolutely starving. Remember that eating something does not help the 'starving children in Africa' any more than binning it. (I'm sure you were told to think of all the SC in A, as a child?). Giving something away is the best solution.

I do sometimes have a taste of something, and then decide I don't like it enough to waste my Syns on, so end up binning the rest. Princess has a very good philosophy but sometimes the munchies happen and you (the generic you) just need to eat, regardless of what it is.

Just don't buy any more!

I won't, they're horrible!
Yes, the starving children got a lot of mentions in our house too.
Rob can't leave anything on his plate, I always give him a small portion and let him top it up. As children they were made to sit at the table until they'd cleaned their plates, even if it took hours or all night!

My mother got that treatment too. Some excuse there, perhaps, as it was during the war but Mum used to say that they knew she didn't like whatever it was so why not share it between the ones who did as that way it wouldn't be wasted. It created huge tension in the house as my mother was very strong-willed, as was her father!

Ok I'm writing this to shame myself, make people realise they're not alone (if indeed anyone is as bad and they chose to read my diary) and so I can look back a few weeks from now and remember how eating everything you want isn't actually much fun.

Got home to find the new slimming world magazine on my door mat - how rude!

Food in no particular order as Rob was working late so I didn't have tea as such

Celebrations - lost count
Budweiser x 3
Cream scone x 2
Apple and blackberry pie with cream
Five bean chilli and rice
Cadburys fingers x 2
Glass of milk

I feel sick, bloated, have stomach ache and headache, and will probably have a lousy nights sleep.

This girl is back on the wagon!

Oh dear - I know just how you feel! I had one of those moods a few weeks ago and remember saying that it was a relief to go to bed. If you were like I was, you knew you didn't want it but your mouth was demanding it.

Anyway, it's done now and knowing how you felt may just help keep you keep one hand on the wagon over the next week or so.

I think it's unrealistic to expect to stay completely on the wagon at this time of year when surrounded by so many temptations but Mandy, what were you doing have things like blackberry aand apple pie and scones in the house? Or did you fall into a shop on your way home?!

Hoping you have a better day today.

....sneaks on looking sheepish....

The cream buns were brought into work for us, and I couldn't resist when my boss gave me a pack to take home. The fruit pies were bought to be counted treats.
It was ridiculous, I didn't want or enjoy any of it apart from my tea.
It was a mad binge and I'm putting it behind me!

Morning!
Have just emerged from under the duvet ready for another day. I feel like Christmas is over after my mad week and am now ready to get stuck into my New Years resolutions and dry January!
I'll have to get back into the spirit of things as it's our works do tonight, Christmas dinner at the comedy club with 11 blokes to look after...

Works do sounds fun Mandy. You won't be alone in the pre Xmas mad moment re food I'm sure xx I'm sure you'll get into the Xmas spirit. Maybe doing just what you did will now help you out the brakes on, still enjoy but not end up feeling ill with it over Xmas, our stomachs aren't used to it hey. Don't feel bad, do what you can around it and enjoy the season xx

but Mandy..... Santa Claus is coming.... I here his bells a jingling xx :Christmas02r:

Well, I survived the party - just! I haven't been ill but have felt appalling all day. It might be that I've finally grown up but heavy drinking just isn't fun anymore.
I'm hoping for a good nights sleep and getting back to normality tomorrow.

Monday 23rd December

I've survived the return to work after the 'do' on Saturday and am happy to report that I managed not to show myself up. No topless press ups this year :D
:109:

Breakfast - Cheerios and milk

Lunch - Minestrone soup and roll

Dinner - Roast baby potatoes, roast beef, carrots and gravy

Snacks - wotsits and maybe a couple of choccies

I'm looking forward to not pigging out today!
