Ding Dong the Enemy's dead!

Ahhh shame they don't just let you have the day off and they actually send a car to get you!!! :giggle:! Hope you enjoyed your breakkie ;) yummy aren't they!

Crown goes to me again I think........no real choice though as we have virtually no food left in the house! Neighbours have just crawled past in their Range Rover and then reversed back up again so I guess that our lane is impassable. No shops within walking distance either.......our drive is on a slope and that's covered in about 6 inches. Paul has man flu so I guess we are going to exist on toast today!

What a bummer Mary, will they take you home again?

I have a 4x4 from work, and I can drive that home, as I am mornings again tomorrow anyway, so I will return the car then, and hopefully Phill can get our car out at some point tomorrow to come for me tomorrow evening.

Oooh Sandra, bummer about not being able to get out. Tell him to stop feeling sorry for himself.........duh men and men flu eh ;-)

Men...full stop!

We've got an X5 which would probably have been fine if only we could've got it out the drive and down the lane! It looks like it's melted quite a lot since earlier so hopefully we will be ok tomorrow. Hope so as there's only so much toast that I can stomach, the irony is that's what I really craved whilst on tfr:(

Oooooh an x5!!!!!!!! :heartpump: Fancy giving it to me?! hahahahaha!!!!! :p

It was a present to himself! I only drive it in France as it's just too big for Jersey's roads I think. Got amazing gadgets though:D

A present to himself?! Hope he got you one too!!! :p

Mary, sorry your party got postponed. Ours went ahead but a lot of people cried off who had long journeys. Roads were very, very icy and dodgy !! I had too much to eat and drink but enjoyed it all!!
It's nice that you can have a meal out instead in Jan. It gives you something to look forward to.
Stay safe on the roads this week as it looks as if it will be very bad for a while longer.

A present to himself?! Hope he got you one too!!! :p

I wish! No, I've got a 10 year old TT convertible which I love to death and there's nothing that I'd really like to swop it for except perhaps an R7 and that's not going to happen! When I go to France I generally take the X5 as it's usually full of stuff for the house and I love driving it over there but I'm quite happy with my little car when I'm here......what do you drive? I've been car mad since I was a kid and even did car sales for a while back in the olden days!

I've got a little Peugeot 206 sport, only a 1.1 :( Would love for something with a bit more power but it'd be a waste of money for what i use it for. My friend is car mad. Always wanting a new one and in the past 2 or 3 years shes gone through about 4 cars, including a subaru imprezza (sp?) she's nuts! lol But i've always said since the first time i saw one i wanted an x5! Bet they are a beaut. So you have a house in France?!! Did i know this, is this where you went for your op? x

Firstly, sorry Mary for hijacking your thread!

Tanya, one of the benefits (if there are any?) of getting older, is being able to afford and drive what you like! Plus, living in Jersey, I guess that we are very lucky in that until quite recently we were all reasonable prosperous so, yes, we have all the trappings of affluent middle age! Two huge houses, a boat and nice cars.......but sometimes I would glady swop it all to be 25 again, broke but beautiful! And with my whole life ahead of me........

You are so young Tanya and the car that I drove when I was your age was an X19, I bet you don't even know what that is do you? I think they probably stopped making them before you were born;) x

HaHa!! I don't even have that benefit! Though the car I have now is a lot better than what I had when I was 20odd it certainly isn't what I'd choose if I could have what I like ;) LOL! :D

Sorry your night out got cancelled Mary but probably better this way - certainly safer :) xx

LOL Had to do a search for an x19 ... i've never seen one before! :giggle: Feel free to swap lives with me ;) :p x

Cute wasn't it! Mine was a limited edition, blue metallic with pale cream leather....bought it when I was 24 and thought that I was the coolest girl in town.......I've pretty much had two seater sports cars ever since, though it will probably get to the point, if it hasn't already, where I just look daft rather than cool:eek:

Tanya, I just love other peoples' lives, what makes them tick.......I haven't even started on your Facebook photos yet but you can be sure that I will:D

Oh, Mary! Where are youuuuuuuuuuuuuuu?!!!!!!

I was wondering that ;) xx

Sorry for being absent girls, but work really stressed me yesterday, as you know we monitor the Motorway and Trunk Roads, set the speed limits and message signs etc. Well yesterday when the snow came, we were NON STOP answering the phone to members of the public. Constantly for 8 hours I answered the phone to the same questions, before another 4 hours despatching the Traffic Officers. Plus I felt sh**ty anyway with these flu like symptoms (again - I seem to be constantly complaining lately). Well I intended going home and getting pi**ed last night. We picked up a chinese on the way home, I ate half of that, done my farmville for about 30 minutes, and switched the laptop off. I just couldnt chill out. I drank one whisky and went to bed. I feel much better today, but not 100% yet.

Went Food shopping today and I am relaxed a little that I have got all that done. The blooming Turkey Crown was £37!!! I just have to get some prawns and strawberries on Thursday or Friday now and I am all set for Xmas, plus a few more little pressies for the grumpy OH!!!

Oh 'eck .... sounds like we're all 'suffering' from the Christmas strains and stresses eh? :(

Let's all (me more than most!) try to remember this is supposed to be a time we show goodwill, compassion and love to all. It's easy, with all we have to do, remember, supervise, sort out etc to get stressed and take it out those nearest to us. While it's not easy when 'those around us' SHOULD be able to see what needs doing, do it and just be generally helpful and anticipatory ... in general they don't, so perhaps accepting this - or even expecting this rather than hoping for something that's never going to happen and therefore ending up disappointed and grumpy will mean we don't get so stressed ... I don't know - just a thought .... even though I wish it was different  xx

Oooh can't imagine how stressfull your job has been of late mary! What a pain in the butt!

Jan speaks wise words :) xxx

Just one more shift after tonight until 27th Dec...............yahooooooo.
Work side of things is MUCH better tonight - thankfully.
