Dinkie Dawnies Dubious Diary of Downsizing, Deflation, and Debauchery

I never stay off my backside for long even unwittingly! Lol

2 hours in the gym??!!! My goodness? I'm tired just thinking about it.

Glad you had a good catch up and lol @ 5k run. Ooops! You can do it though, even if you run 2.5 then walk then run a bit. You can do it!!

Sounds like you had a nice day though and loving the nails.

Any plans for today? Hope the sun stays out for you and you have a good one xxx

Hi Dawniepops!

I am hopelessly behind with your diary!

Love the nails. Are they gelled? I have started having mine gel manicured every three weeks and love having gorgeous nails! Money well spent in my opinion.

Have a nice day xx

Morning ladies x

Well I'm currently having a nice relaxing soak in the bath now as guess what...???

I ran 5k this morning!!!

I may possibly be dying atm, but I did it, so I don't care! A guy got on the machine next to me and I fell into his rhythm, and as I was feeling pretty good I thought I'd try for 3k. But then I did a bit more, and a bit more, and suddenly I was at the 4k mark and there was no way I was stopping lol! Anyway, I did it in 33 1/2 mins which I'm thrilled with! I've only run for about 13 minutes before!!! I felt really sick and wobbly afterwards but then I've never pushed myself like that before.

So I just did 2k on the rower, 1/2k elliptical, a circuit of weights and then 5k on the bike. Was too shattered to even shower there...hence the bath now lol!

So even if I don't lose tomorrow, I don't actually mind as I've done something today that I never dreamed I'd ever be able to do!!!

Right, gotta get scrubbing!!! :)

Ooh Jane, I think my nails acrylic? X

Thanks Penny x

Well I'm still alive so that's a good sign lol! I've taken a couple of paracetamol as I'm aching like mad! I know it's not really very far, but it's been something I've wanted to do for over a year, and I really can't believe I did it! :)

Of course I'm well aware that it's not the same as running outside...I don't have to run against wind or rain, stop for traffic, or watch my footing...but I can work towards doing that xxx

That's fantastic Im chuffed for you well done!xx

I hope you're not aching too much. You should feel very proud of yourself. Not only did you run 5k but you did it in a great time. I find it harder rubbing outside but you'll also have the support of Gail so you'll be fine. You girls can do it, no problem hehe! X

Hi there ladies x :D

Thanks for your words of encouragement! :thankyou: I was so tired I fell asleep on the settee this afternoon lol! So I haven't got anything to write about other than to put my food down! I'm going to the gym again tomorrow but not until 8am so I've got a lie in! I've actually got an appointment with one of the gym instructors to have a free trial on their vibro plate. I don't know anything about it other than it's supposed to help with toning and apparently it's hard work! Think I'm just a glutton for punishment!

I don't think I'm going to lose any weight tomorrow night. I've been very good since the weekend but I'm not confident it's enough to lose. Hopefully I might scrape a sts. And after wi, I'm off to the All You Can Eat Buffet with Gwyn, Frances and her husband Stephen! :17729:

Hi Dawn,

Just a quick note to say publicly 'WELL DONE' for your run - what a superstar. I told you that you could, it's just all in the mind. Don't worry if you're anxious before the next time and think you won't manage it again because that's normal (at least for me !). Every time I run, I think and worry that I can only run for 2-5 mins but I can and usually do manage more, much to my surprise !!!

Really looking forward to running with you although still worried that I'll be too slow for you !

Looking forward to it.

Gail x

:happy096: chica - and that's a very respectable time!
Gail's right, it is all in the brain. It'll be easier next time, even if you are a bit apprehensive beforehand.

Hi Penny x

Omg the vibro plate is a KILLER!!! You can only really go on it for about 10 minutes as its so powerful! In fact 10 minutes is the equivalent to a one hour gym workout!

Basically you stand/squat/lay on the plate and it shakes really violently!!! It causes your muscles to involuntarily contract incredibly quickly and frequently, giving a toning effect and often leading to weight and inch loss! But it's REALLY hard work, and not a particularly nice sensation either!

Here are the two machines. They do a similar job but work slightly differently ...

So I was pretty knackered after that, and only managed a 2k run, 3k walk, 2k row and 5k cycle afterwards!!

Then I met Sarah in town for coffee which was very nice...meeting Sarah I mean, not the coffee, although that was ok too! And we arranged to go out for a meal tomorrow :). We're actually going to the same restaurant I went to tonight lol!

And so to wi, where I actually did rather well, although in fairness I'd only had a bowl of porridge all day as I'd been so busy! Anyway, I lost 3lbs and got my 6st shiny! I'm over the moon! It's the most weight I've ever lost, and I've not been this light since I was at school! And it means I only have 1 1/2lbs to lose to reach my final target of 9 st 7lbs :)

Having said that, we then went out for a meal and totally stuffed ourselves lol! Doubt I'm 9st 8 1/2 now!!!

Thanks Hannah x

And I'd just like to say again how nice it is to have you back xxx

Well done Dawn!!! That is a fab result and very much deserved. Get you being the lightest since school.

That vibrating plate thing sounds a great workout but tough. Having said that if I could stick out ten minutes it would be worth it, because equivalent of one hour in the gym- wow! Not that I have one of these plates nor a gym!!

Morning Dawn
Catching up with your diary. Well done on the running, fab achievement. you'll be fine in your race, adrenaline will get you through, look at me and my race. It's all about stamina and you sure got a lot of that :)x good luck anyway, but I know you can do it !!!

Love the idea of those plates, no pain no gain !!! He he

Well done on your 3lb off too that's so good especially so close to target, you are still so inspiring Dawn, you keep me believing that what ever you set your mind too you can achieve it. 6 stone award too woohoo !!!!

Have a lovely weekend, don't forget to rest as well look after those tonned muscles ;-) xx

Morning ladies and Sarah x

Thank you all for your super comments xxx

Today's post comes to u from my bed! Omg! I can barely move! I honestly feel as if someone came in during the night and gave me a good kicking!!! Currently waiting for ibuprofen to kick in before I get up lol! So I'm assuming that the vibro plate must have worked!!! So it's a positive pain and I'm not really complaining!!!

So I need to get showered in a minute and then see about booking my car in for it's mot. Also need to do lots of housework, and put away the new clothes I ordered which came yesterday.

And tonight I'm out with sis Sarah woo woo! We're going to the same restaurant I went to last night lol! After having a good chat yesterday, we decided it would be best if we went tonight and got it over and done with so we can both then get back in plan, rather than having it hanging over us next week ;)

Anyway, I'm going to see if I can make it as far as the ensuite now...wish me luck!!!
