Dinkie Dawnies Dubious Diary of Downsizing, Deflation, and Debauchery

I think its worth it tbh. Even if you decide that running isn't for you, the shoes aren't wasted as they make good walking shoes, and you can pay over £40 for a decent pair of trainers!

I can't think what make mine are...they were comfy and reasonable so that was that! Let me know how u get on. Are u going to do c25k? Xx

Definately no running for me, as I had the cartilage removed from my right knee two years ago, and have to avoid too much stress on the joint, or I will be having a knee replacement before I'm 50

I wear trainers to walk the dog, when it is dry, otherwise wellies

Ooh nasty! These running shoes are really padded so you're joints are well cushioned...mite be gd for yr knee? Xx

That's what I was thinking, at the moment, I have two pairs of Nike Air ones, which are also quite bouncy, but the oldest pair, are now in need of being binned, so need a new replacement

. . . Got a shed load of scrubbing, hoovering, tidying, wiping, bleaching to do first as we obviously have to leave the place in good condition, and we have kinda made ourselves at home! And I suppose the fact I'm still in bed THINKING about all the stuff that's gotta be done isn't actually GETTING it done lol!

Right! I'm getting up now! Time to hit the shower and get cracking!

See you later! Xx

Would you like to write a note please to all my clients at the apartment? I would say only 1/10 go to the extremes that you seem to be doing, 4/10 do an ok job, 4/10 empty bins and at least leave it tidy, 1/10 leave it looking like a wreck!

We had a bunch of golfers in at the start of May and when we went to say goodbye they had done a runner outside to get into their taxi (leaving the apartment door wide open). It looked like a bomb had hit it. It took 4 bin liners to get rid of the empty bottles, cans and half eaten food strewn around the lounge and patio. The worse was the fact that we have an antique pine dining table that now has bottle rings on it as does the teak patio table. And there were costers sitting on both tables right in front of their eyes.

MEN !!!!

Lol I'm not sure which category me and bf would fit inti, when we left our little caravan he didn't think I should even stick bleach in the loo!! Altho he did think we should make up the bed... Whichever category it isn't the 1/10!!

Really? That's awful! I can't believe they'd behave like that!

The cottage we stay at is sort of "self running" iykwim. Robert, who owns it, goes up several times a year to do maintenance work on it etc. but everyone who uses it helps out with stuff, and ALWAYS cleans it throughout. Otherwise Robert would have to pay someone local to do it, and he'd have to put the rent up...something he has never done in the 7 yrs we've been using it! Even though he had all the expense of gutting and refurbishing the place after 8ft of river water flooded it!
We also leave milk/loo rolls/cleaning stuff etc for eachother, and yesterday gwyn blitzed the drive and patio with weedkiller.

I think it only works like this because Robert only let's the place to people he knows so there's an element of trust there, but I thought EVERYONE cleaned up after themselves wherever they stayed! Infact I've left some places a damn site cleaner than I've found them! Lol...that could just be me I suppose! Xx

Ooh...excited...

Only 10 mins from Gail and Jules!!!

Now can someone tell me why, on the day I REALLY want to look my skinnyest cos I'm meeting not one but TWO sw legends, do I wake up feeling HUGE and with a tummy like a pot bellied pig?? Ok...so it could be the cream tea, or the pizza, or the curry, or the sausage and mash...but I'm sure I wasn't THIS big yesterday! Grrr!

Well here I come girls! See you soon! Xx

Ooh snap we posted at the same time! I had a great time. Don't worry about chatting we ladies are all partial to a chin wag! I loved your food too. I'll be making that fish pie for Bailey soon. Although as predicted he didn't like the sound of baked bean lasagne so I'll have to just make it for myself sometime!

Was lovely to meet Dawn and Gwyn and was lovely to see Gail again! Xxxx

Hellooo ladies!

OMG what a WONDERFUL afternoon we had with the GORGEOUS Gail and the FABULOUS Jules!!! You 2 girlies have totally made my holiday...luv ya to bits!
You are both looking sooo good now. Jules...you are stunning...this weight really suits you! You don't look as if you've ever been overweight in your life, more like a petite model. And Gail, your photos don't do you justice hunni...I don't care whether the scales say you're up or down...today you look wonderful xxx
I have to say that the food was pretty bloody good too...fish pie, baked beans lasagne, salad, home made dressing, and just when we thought we couldn't eat any more...out came Jules masterpiece...tiramasu! Yum Yum and more yum! All dishes I've never cooked before but definately will be doing soon. And then we had chocolate coffee! Perfect!!!

But the very bestest thing about today was meeting 2 super ladies who are every bit as lovely in real life as they are on here. Gail and Jules, thanks for the lovely meal, the friendly welcome, and for just being you xx
P.S. Think poor Gwyn is still reeling from the 2 fingers in the bra incident Gail lol! ;)

And Jules...Aviary rd...PMSL!!! :)

So glad you had a lovely day, not that I ever doubted it. What a lovely end to your holiday. Excellent.
Oooh baked bean lasagne sounds intriguing. Definitely would appreciate a recipe. Yum yum
Take care and don't be too harsh on yourself on your return home. I'm sure you'll lose whatever weight you put on. You deserved that break and sure you enjoyed the food you had.
