Done a daft thing, need some encouragement

:( Well I weighed myself just now- I don't know why, i'd promised myself only once a week but according to my scales i'm 4lb UP on my last WI on Monday. I usually weigh in my undies first thing in the morning but this time I was fully clothed and its afternoon.
I don't know why but I still expected to be about the same as my WI day or less. STUPID stupid me!! :cry:I should know better but it's really upset me!
I have been 100% since starting and drinking plenty (2-3 litres easily) so I know I've not done anything wrong.
Please can someone say something that might make me feel better.... x
 
Ok, take a really deep breath and calm down! :)

Weight fluctuates all the time. Physiological fact.

Even if you ate and drank nothing all day, everyone weighs heavier during the day and lightest first thing in the morning. Add a couple of pounds for clothing, and there you go!

Put the scales back in the cupboard - right now!!!

You are doing well. This works, it really does.

Weigh once a week, in the morning, and no more. You will only upset and demotivate yourself otherwise.

Mayb Ur bunged up and need to increase fibre by adding Fibre Clear to Ur shakes? Dats my pennies worth!

Ahh Bless you Darcy, that's very level headed advice. I can't believe I weighed myself- what an idiot. I know from previous diets that it can really knock my confidence.
I will get DH to hide my scales until Monday.
Meanwhile I shall have a hot black decaff (you thought I was going to say 'man' there didn't you ;)) and not think about it.

I would imagine it's physically impossible to GAIN weight doing TS? That's what i'm telling myself.

I can categorically tell you, I weigh myself before going to bed, and I am anywhere between 3 and 6 pounds heavier than I am in the morning.

I know all too well about wanting to see it going down, but even the week I lost the 10lbs I was still heavier in the evening than I had been the previous morning. Darcy is right back away from the scales and chill, I promise this is working for all of us.
 
We lose water vapour as we breathe in our sleep which is why we are lightest in the mornings. I weigh first thing in the morning after a wee, before a drink, with no clothes on. Every litre of water you've drunk is 2lb, clothes are a few lb. Glad you've decided to hide them. I weigh every 2 or 3 days but always in the same 'state'.My 'real' weight is probably mid afternoon, but I won't worry about those few lb until I get to goal.
 
Thanks guys, i'm feeling loads better and hubby has now hidden the scales- I won't do that again, it made me feel like crap. LW, reading your post really helped. I thought i'd had a gain!:( I'm SO relieved it's normal! This is my 1st vlcd and it deffo works differently to other diets i've tried.

SO true LW, I was Sooo close to throwing in the towel! When it comes to self sabotage I wrote the book! That's why Exante is PERFECT for me. I'm like an alcoholic but with food, so I need abstinence to detox myself from bad habits. It doesn't take much for me to lose my grip despite my determination. Thanks to everyone for pushing me back onto my stallion and slapping his butt to get me going again. Wubs ya!!! :hug99:
