Donna's fighting depression and weight diary!

Wow. Ur diary is like food porn. Never thought of leaving the potato off the cottage pie and putting it over a jacket. I'm making the lamb hotpot tonight. I do tend to add more meat in mine as there are 5 of us. So kinda messes up the calories. I hope u like the stew. It's my favourite. Might try the cottage pie over sweet potato jackets though. Good news on ur little one sleeping in his own bed thorough out the night.

Hi Mitch - the cottage pie recipe is similar to the one in their Mum Knows Best cookbook - although it has flour and red wine (but is so delish!), the only difference is the red wine is missing and they have put a tin of tomatoes in the skinny one- personally I prefer it without the tinned tomatoes and will leave these out next time and they use bayleaf in MKB and I added that to the savoury mince last night - this mince recipe is the one that is most like my nan's - she used to serve it over jackets with lbs of grated cheese - good old Nan!

I love Cottage pie with swede and carrot mash topping, much easier on the calories and tastes great. Never thought of putting on a jacket potato before, Might try that one x

Just had a really good workout at the toning tables - did my fav leg bum and tum machine for an extra 10 mins - so 80mins worth of exercise today

Ironing all done

Got to get cracking with spring cleaning today - gonna do the kitchen - in prep for Meg's birthday celebrations xxx

Your Cottage pie looked so nice lol

I am the same today with cleaning. Have friends coming to stay on Saturday and want it to look spic and span by then. Spent hours in the kitchen doing that yesterday, gonna tackle the bathroom today, seriously Kim and Aggie would have a field day in this flat lol

I think I am more of a Kim too, i'm such a perfectionist, if I seen the tiniest crumb on the bench I would have to move it haha. Think I might just tell my friends to sleep in there as its cleaner then my bedroom now (Thats my task tomorrow lol)

That's great lovely walk I can't wait for the weather to get better to get out and about more I went for run with the dogs weekend but it was so wet I had mud splashed everywhere and the bloody dogs needed bathing

quiche sounds lovely
and I so like the fact that you are getting quality sleep that will help you so much on your road to recovery

sorry your DH is suffering health problems but eating with you is bound to reduce his weight while he still eats very well - hopefully it will inspire him to want to continue :)

thanks for you support it means so much

does all the worry about me make you feel good about you as you have not had time to dwell - I do hope so :):):)

Hi Donna - finally read all your diary (bit anal that way) and can now post in it. :D What amazing losses you have had and WTG with all the good cooking and lovely eats.

Sorry to read you've got issues with depression. I've had it too and it's no fun. Can I suggest something simple to try as it really helps my mood. It's a sublingual (under yr tongue) Vitamin B mix. (Mega B12 amounts though). You get a 60 ml (60day) supply for £7 and a bit from Holland & Barrett and I find it really helps me. I hadn't really noticed how much better I was till I ran out of the liquid and didn't get round to getting more. My mood plummeted and I was so down then lightbulb moment when I realised what was different and I got more, within a couple of weeks I was feeling so much better. I think H & B have a buy one get 1 half price atm so you'd get 2 bottles or 4 mth supply for £12ish quid. The liquid is supposedly absorbed better than taking in tablet form. I've got my mum on it now too and she feels better too and says it helps to clear her mind and improves her memory. Might be worth a go as it's only vitamins.

Hope your shins are better and look after yourself hun. :D

Hi Purple Patsy, I'm really enjoying the CC - its so much easier than any other diet - want chocolate - eat it - have smaller dinner

Have suffered on and off with depression prob all my life - will def get some of those next time I am in H&B, thanks for recommendation

Shins are much bettter now - got loads of bruises come up on my arms now
