Down with Spanx!

Ended up not being well on Friday and still don't feel great today. I'm not expecting a loss tomorrow, as I never lose weight when I'm ill, even if I haven't eaten much!

Hope you feel better soon hun x

Thanks Emmey! Hopefully it's just a 48hr bug. Hope you are having a good weekend! x

Also, ordered some new clothes from Next this week - wore a new top today and two people asked if I'd lost weight! :D:D

Well, today is my birthday - I am 43... This time last year, I was 15 stone and still avoiding the camera like the plague. This year, I went out for dinner with friends that I only see once every couple of months, wearing skinny jeans and knee-high boots - was told I looked amazing - and felt fantastic! What a difference a year makes!

One of my friends decided I looked like a size 12 and told me I didn't need to lose any more weight. Another followed me to the bar to fling her arms around me and tell me how amazing I looked - think the barman was quite surprised!

Also, forgot to record the best NSV - I bought those knee-high boots in the Clarks sale last Easter and couldn't get them done up over my calves. When I wore them this week, they not only did up easily - but over jeans too!!! Maybe my 'hockey-player' legs are on the way out! :D:D:D

I LOVE your NSV's. Fantastic to hear you doing so well. It's so inspirational to read others feeling that way and helps to motivate people like me to keep going. Yay (and thanks !).

Woohoo! I love SW - 5lbs off this week! That's that pesky 2.5lbs gain from last week and 2.5lbs more!!! :D:D:D:D

That Cheshire Cat grin is back!

That is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Well done you :). Just shows how right you were not to change your stats. Good luck for tomorrow. Hope it's another good one :D

P.S. Sorry I haven't been here for a while - got bogged down in work etc etc :(

I'm starting my life all over, and a girls first thing to do is lose weight, well I've a long hard road ahead, but after reading your story it give me a little hope that I can succeed!! Thank you for that. I look forward to your next post xx

Hi Angelica - thanks for your support! Well done on your SW journey so far and I'm glad that I've provided some inspiration.

I can honestly say that I am a different woman from the one that wrote that post last year - much happier, much slimmer and much healthier, so don't let anything stop you! x

Thanks Gail! I have to admit to feeling on top of the world this week. The new photo that you commented on is now my profile pic on a *drumroll* dating site - and I already have a date lined up for next week!

I've posted in your thread (and Sunday Weighers!) to say a huge well done on your fab loss this week! x

So, 1lb off for me this week, which I am really pleased with. I don't normally manage to lose anything when I've been off-colour, it's as if my body wants to store all the energy it can get to fight off the bug, so 1lb is fantastic!

I am now only 2.5lbs off being 11st 7lbs, and 3.5lbs off my 5.5st shiny, so these are my goals for the next 4 weeks - before I go off on holiday for half-term! :D

Started the week pretty much as I mean to go on, so feeling good!

I've just watched the Biggest Loser Australia 2008 final (it's been repeated on SkyLivingit) - they had 4 people who had lost over 40% of their original body weight! So I'm feeling all inspired now!

I had a lovely NSV tonight. Think I mentioned above that I had uploaded a profile on a dating site... Well, I had my first internet date tonight. After about 15 mins, the guy said 'I hope you don't mind me saying this, but why on earth did you describe yourself as overweight on your profile? You're not at all!' I was like a cheshire cat for the rest of the evening!

Tuesday: Green

Now that is a cracking nsv:D:D.How did the date go? Well done on your loss:) hope your feeling better.x

Thank you ladies!

I knew I wasn't going to get away with just posting the NSV....! :D

The date was 'nice'. The guy was very nice. He was funny and interesting and reasonably attractive. Sadly, however, I didn't immediately fancy him. He is very keen and has texted me umpteen times since, making it clear he would like to see me again, and the sooner the better.

I might be absolutely honest with him and tell him I like him, but don't fancy him and if he wants to go out on that basis and see if it goes anywhere, then that would be fine, if not, that's fine too!

All very flattering for the ego though!

Have been so busy this week that I haven't had time to do a proper shop, so no fresh fruit or veg in the house. Must remedy that this evening!

Wednesday: Green
Brekkie: Crunchy bran (HEB), ff yoghurt (2 syns), strawberries
Lunch: Baked potato, beans, apple
Dinner: Pasta, pesto (2.5 syns), peas, mushrooms, cheese (HEA)

Syns today: 4.5
Week so far: 19

I'm not expecting a loss this week. Although my syns have been really low and I haven't been off-plan, I've not eaten well - far too many carbs - and I'm feeling bloated and fat.

Just one of those weeks where I haven't had time to shop or cook properly... :(

Thursday: Green
Brekkie: Crunchy bran (HEB), ff yoghurt (2 syns), strawberries
'Lunch': (meeting overran, missed it!) Banana, apple, alpen light (half HEB)
Dinner:pasta, pesto (2.5 syns), green beans, broccoli, peas, mushrooms
Snack: Apple

Syns today: 4.5
Week so far: 23.5

Hey Spanx,

If you don't lose this week, so be it. If you have stuck to the plan, you have done well, loss or no loss.

Sounds like the date went well to me. It was a good confidence boost and you both had a good time. Result !

Fingers crossed for this week, even if you're not optimistic.

Thanks Gail - I know you're right, so I'm not going to stress about it!

Yes, I suppose it was a success - I did what I said I might do and told him that I thought he was nice, but I wasn't sure it would ever be more than that and he's still keen to see me again, so we shall see!

I've managed to eat a lot more fruit and veg in the last couple of days, so feeling a bit better about the week, even though I do still feel really bloated!

Friday:Green
Brekkie: Crunchy bran (HEB), ff yoghurt, strawberries
Lunch: Baked potato, beans, cheese (HEA)
Snack: Apple
Dinner: Chicken (HEB), uncle ben's express rice (3 syns), broccoli, peas, green beans
Snack: KitKat (5.5 syns)

Syns today: 8.5
Week so far: 32

Dont forget to drink! Especially in this weather as dehydration will also make you feel bloated :) sounds to me like your doing great sticking to the plan, hope you get the results you deserve :)

Thanks Emmey - I think you may be on to something. I bought a big box of Diet Coke last weekend, as it was half price - and I've been drinking it all week.

I try not to drink it too much, as I know it's not good for you - so that's probably got something to do with the bloating too.

Back to the NAS squash from tomorrow!

Saturday: Green
Brekkie: Crunchy bran (HEB), ff yoghurt, strawberries
Lunch: Baked potato, beans, cheese (HEA)
Dinner: Chicken (HEB), oven chips (5 syns), BBQ sauce (1 syn)

Syns today: 6
Syns for week: 38

Wish me luck for WI tomorrow...:)

Well, as I suspected, not a good WI. Scales were hovering between STS and half a pound loss, so I'm going with STS and hoping for a good loss next week!

I ended up having some chips from the chip shop tonight - so unimpressed with myself and *TMI alert* still burping that greasy aftertaste! I had about a third of a portion, so I'm going to count 10 syns for it...

Sunday: EE
Brekkie: Crunchy bran (HEB), ff yoghurt, salad
Lunch: Gammon, Baked potato, large salad, curried rice (3 syns), ff yoghurt
Dinner: Chicken, large salad, chips (10 syns)

Syns today: 13

Only time for a quick food diary today:

Monday: Green
