First day and COUNTING!!

Zenloola

I WILL fit my clothes!
Hiya! Done all the diets in the world. Now following Atkins Induction (sort of - it's really a diet for Hypoglycemia) but very VERY similar!

Having a MASSIVE CAFFEINE withdrawal headache at the moment! BOOOOOOOOO

today I've had:

breakfast: Atkins chocolate shake thing.

lunch: 2 eggs, tomato & ham fried with a bit of cheese.

Snack: 8 tiny strawberries with soured cream (only fruit I'm allowed on my diet).

butternut squash & mooli rosti (while cooking them for dinner) :)

dinner: Roast chicken, butternut squash & Mooli rosti's & pureed cauliflower with soured cream and cheese!

drinks: plain old water - plenty and a cup of chicken bovril :)

Do you have a carb count you're sticking to? BNS is a bit carby for us inductionees.

Oh crap!!! Just read my list and I'm not allowed butternut squash!!! (Crys!!!) ruined on my first day!!!

Thanks for pointing it out!! I have a list of veg I can eat and it's all the very low carb stuff - very VERY similar to atkins induction. But it says I can have "summer squash" so I got mixed up :( boooo! No carb points just very strict on the veg I can eat.

Just had my 12 pistachio nuts (that's my daily limit o nuts) and now I'm going to sit here while OH has glutinous rice balls with sesame paste in syrup) OH IM STRONG!!

I am usually carb queen so I know I'll be ins agony next few days! How long till your cravings went everyone else?? my head is pounding from no coffee or chocolate :s

Keep glugging the water, that will help flush the carbs and caffeine out - took me a few days.

Stick with it, you can do it :)

What do you induction guys do for gravy?? I'm not allowed any flour and I think gravy is a no go?? But I had some with my breakfast :s.

Breakfast was left overs from last nights dinner :) but with a bit of gravy.

Any tips on lowwwww impact excersize for someone who can never be bothered to move... :s x

Personally I use a little bit of stock, bouillon or broth - but if I'm at someone else's I have a bit of gravy.

Gravy in America is this really thick stuff full of flour, not the oxo cube type. I suspect that's why the books are so down on gravy.

And I barely exercise at all I'm afraid.

yea me either! However I did walk to Tescos today instead of driving which I'm very proud of myself for today.

No lunch today as I am a bit bunged up... my digestive system isnt running as smoothly without the caffeine to help move it along *ahem* :) However I'm also on medication that makes you constipated so thats the main reason. Today I've drank 3 little bottles of water and had 3 cups of hot water. Going to keep trying the hot water to see if I can rehydrate myself a bit.

Dinner this eve will be smoked macrel with creamy leeks (made with soured cream & butter), a bit of cauliflower puree thats left over and some form of broccolli - might go look at the recipies section and see if theres anything in there...

Today I have checked all of my veggies and they are all allowed! phew! :)

snacks if I feel hungry enough will be my allowance of strawberries & nuts or a bit of ham or chicken. :)

Is it bad to snack on cheese? I always fancy a little square of cheddar...

what things do people snack on?

I like a bit of cheddar to snack on, or ham and cheese roll ups.

Re being bunged up, my personal favourite to get things moving is spinach :)

Ooo will get spinach ASAP! Had my dinner today and didn't feel all bloated after like I normally do! Pudding was 12 pistachios (allowed on my diet) only thing now is that I'm going the cinema tonight and usually like having popcorn! Booo!

But we're going out to eat tomorrow to meet friends - was meant to be Pizza Express but I changed it to nandos with some ingenuity! I presume the chicken and salad is ok there for induction?

Caffeine headache eased up today and I just sat here with a glass of sugar free cordial while oh has beer, guiness and Bombay mix! GO ME!! :)

I've had chicken and salad at nandos and been fine - I get mine without spicy sauce though as I'm a wimp!

Hi and welcome
as you cant have bns which i do miss i love butter nut squash chips, have you tried celeriac, its our firm favorite for chipping and roasting around here!!

low impact is what iv been doing, i have a bad back and physio recommended pilates, so that and beginners yoga is great for building up some core strength and getting u moving slowly. I have a wii so been doing step on that now too.

Hope u are enjoying low carb
tracy

I've been trying to get hold of celeriac for a few days and to no avail yet! But I'll keep trying!

Breakfast today will be some creamy leeks and cauliflower purée haha! (Leftovers) while oh has cereal and toast. Going to nandos later woohoo! And since I'm still bunged up am not really interested in food ATM :( x

Well go me! Went to nandos and had half a chicken and a salad and didn't even steal a chip or garlic bread!!!! WEEEOOOHHHH! X

Fabulous display of willpower ;)

Celeriac should be getting more and more plentiful as I believe it's in season.

i first found celeriac in sainsburys, i did find it once in a larger lidl too but sainsbo is usually the best bet for supermarkets

Today I was naughty and had a coffee with milk (meant to be caffeine and milk free ATM) oops!!

Breakfast was tuna and egg omelette. Bit wierd but acceptable. I still haven't been the loo and its getting painful! Plus I'm getting spotty!!??

Been taking dulcolax but not worked yet! Tea this eve chicken and spinach!!!! Lots f spinach!!!

LOL yes lots of spinach for you, missus! :) A few people here have what we call "park" issues (you will read about someone "going to the park" - that's code for poo :)) so if it continues do ask for other suggestions.

I wonder if the spots are a good sign of your body flushing out the carbs?

Anyway, you are doing great, so keep it up xx

Boooo epic fail:( I had a lemon tart. I'm so dissapointed in myself I could kick me! All my hard work of the las few days :(

Ah well start again tomorrow. I just hate that I did it! Coz I need to follow this diet for my health too! But I do these things every now and again when I'm feeling a bit down - think its part comfort part punishing myself for being an idiot!

Won't beat myself up though! Just start again tomorrow! X
