Frances' New House, New Life, New Start Diary...

That's hilarious. We "pretend" hit each other sometimes and the dog goes mad hehe. If I "hit" Dad she starts jumping at him as if she's getting him too. She loves play fights (she NEVER bites though... if her teeth accidentally touch my hand or anything, she whines to say sorry and lies down with her head bowed lol - shes a wee pet).

He Stringer is biting our hands in stuff.. Not in a 'I wana bite you' way but in a playful way so we're tryna teach him he's not allowed do that.. He's so cute that he throws a little strop when you tell him no! He walks away, lays down n looks at ya wit little sad eyes.. He's so funny..
It really is like a baby in that we've to then try not laugh at him and let him know he's NOT allowed...

Ah yeah you have to tell him no. They hate being ignored so if he bites ya for real shout "OW" at him and leave the room. Do that a couple times and they cop on not to bite in no time. Molly was a bit of a biter when we got her, she wouldn't let anyone touch her paws, tail or lower back without snapping at them at first. We rescued her though and now she's all trained up.

Those sad puppy eyes really melt the heart don't they? :)

Aw yea.. he's too cute.. He has Jonathan WRAPPED.. As soon as he gives the puppy look he gives in.. I do be like no you can't do that he has to learn.. His response? "Aw but he's too cute!"
Also, teaching him not to beg when people are eating is hard... We've never been a family to feed a dog from our plates and I don't intend on becoming one of those people... So when i'm having my lunch n he's sitting there tapping on my leg to remind me he's there and wanting some food, its very hard to ignore..
I've been giving him his food, just as I'm about to have mine so he has no reason to beg for mine.. Same in the evening. He gets his food when we're about to sit down for ours.. Proper family meal times ha ha ha...
Ah we'll get there.. He's doing really well so far.. And we've only had him 4 days :)

Yeah the food thing is hard - try not to give in (I _know_ how hard it is though). It's just the way dogs are, they think we (the "pack") should all be eating the same thing. Just leave his food there and if he doesnt eat it before the end of the day, take it away. They soon learn lol.

Yea that's what we've been doing.. It is hard not to give him something off yer plate but I don't want a dog thats in my face the whole time when I'm eating so we just have to be tough.. he'll learn as you say...

I can't believe someone poisoned your old dog. Thats absolutely dreadful. Makes me so sad to think about such horrible people doing things like that.

Sounds like pup is doing well. It might be an idea not to feed him at the same time as you as in terms of pack dominance if he gets fed first its giving him the message that he is top of the pecking order and can therefore beg from other pack members. You obviously don't want him too hungry when you eat as he is likely to beg but maybe feeding much earlier so he doesn't assoicate the two might be worth a go? Our last dog was a soft gorgeous lump of loveliness but he did have some quite dominant tendencies so we had to be quite careful with boundaries so he clearly knew his place in the pack. The most effective ways of doing this were not feeding him just before us, not letting him on the furniture and going through doors before him.

Lola tends to eat when we do and I agree, best not to give food off your plate and he will soon learn :0)

Yea see with us both working it'd b hard to feed him much earlier than us...
We only get in about 5:30 n by then he's not been fed since 12:40ish... But I get what you mean... :)

Ah that's not much treats hon? I way more than that on a good day sometimes hehe. I had a couple of choc liquors there, they were practically shoved down my mouth :p

Only just been able to catch up with ur diary today! Nice to hear about the pup, seems he is getting cuter by the day!

And ur food is looking really good this wk! I think ur in for a loss, ur body should have recovered from ur fasting etc by now and I do think that will boost ur loss a bit!

Good morning girlies.. Started reading 50 shades last night.. I can see why people can't put it down.. And no durty thoughts.. I haven't got to any dirty scenes yet ha ha... its seems a good read.. :) Think I may buy the books when I can.. have been printing off the copy I got on email and its just not the same.. Feel like I'm working reading from A4 sheets.. lol

I weighed in this morning at 177.8LBS... only problem is.. I can't remember last weeks WI number.. So will search back and report if its a loss or gain.. I think I weighed in last Friday at 178... So STS really.. My muscles do feel quite heavy from exercise so maybe............. And I had a "heavy" dinner last night (pasta bolognese)...........I dunno.. But I'm cool with it either.. As long as its not up I'm happy :)

OK so not a good start to my new diary.. WI this mornign was 178lb.. So 1.5lb gain... That WILL be gone next week.. I'm determined :)
Yea so last week I weighed in at 178.. And this week 177.8 so STS for me this week..
Which is totally fine, as i've just said I had a heavy dinner yesterday.. been too munchy all week.. And my muscles are feeling quite heavy/stiff this morning from Wednesdays exercise..

I agree,treats aren't too bad at all!
I know my treats haven't been hugely bad, but for me they have.. I'm not a sweets/biscuits person usually so for me there's been allot of treats this week.. And nowhere near enough fruit or veg! So will get on that this week.. I can really feel the lack of goodness in hwat I've been eating too.. Wana make a big pot of veg soup but my big pot is in my Mam's.. Need to get that the weekend.. :)

Good mawning gawgeous! Well done on STS, if I eat pasta night before WI I usually GAIN so I'd say you've actually lost weight this week as well as gaining some muscle tone (keep the water intake up for the muscles :) ) You're doing great, bet you're due a nice lovely loss next week too woop! Keep up the exercise - it's gonna be great for toning, I keep meaning to do something like that in between days I'm running but there's not much room in this house to do any sort of exercise hehe!! X

Happy Friday :) x
