Sounds like doctor has covered all bases
MrsLmc said:I have been with my doctor before, for IBS symtoms with a huge family history of IBD including both Crohn and Colitis and never have I been refered for a colonoscopy!!! I am gonna demand one next time I'm in. Your doc sounds very thorough, fair play to him.
MrsLmc said:Yip I knew that about IBS - which annoys me, she just said it sounds like IBS, no tests even with my family history. Annoying. Great to get the tests though, it'll be a weight of your mind.
Thanks girls. Well he's sending to James fir bloods. To mount Carmel for consultation n biopsy n colonoscopy. N to a fertility clinic for more tests.... Hopefully will get answers soon
Yea been constipated for weeks.. Its awful.. Then the white pasta last week near killed me!!! Been taking Colpermine the last few days and it is working.. Slowly.. Very slowly.. But it is getting things moving.. But if I miss a day of taking it the pain n bloating starts again.. Which clearly isn't right!!Hey hon. Glad you got great results.
Im out the other end of the "ruling out everything so you prob definately have IBS". Done the colonoscophy, endoscopy, small bowel follow thru (yuck), different xray type things, various blood tests and thats it im done... IBS.... Probably definately! So its great you're on that track.....
And fertility clinic is great news-no harm to get these things checked out.....
And great about thyroid etc... He sounds great... It makes such a difference. My doctor is brilliant aswel and even though he's a man i feel so at ease with him...
Fingers crossed it all goes well for you hon...
Also not sure if he explained to you or if you know already... If your constipated (which you clearly are if you havn't gone in 3.5 weeks), this is what's called overflow.... So its not that you've swing necessarily to the other extreme (diarrohea). Infact your prob still 'backed up' (for the want of a better term) its just your bodies way of coping..... Sorry if its TMI but sometimes i think it helps to know whats going on.....

Then today at about 3ish I had to RUN to the loo and the diarrohea started... It was AWFUL.. Especially since I was in work!! Luckily there's the empty floors otherwise I'd have left the office n gone home..
Such a relief just knowing i'm going to get answers now, finally!!
He's a great doc.. He's not my own doctor.. My doctor doesn't sit tonight but that's why I went.. I knew he wouldn't be there.. He puts EVERYTHING down to diet!! I cud go in with my leg hanging off and he'd tell me it was coz my "plates not colourful enough"
I mean I know diet has allot to do how we feel and how our bodies function.. But its not the be all and end all... And last time I went to him about my bloating n loo issues that's ALL he went on about.. Which I suppose is half the reason I left it so long...
I'm not surprised. Do not doctors not realise that if you have a bad visit it will stop you from going back. Which is not a good thing! I agree that everyone should try and be healthy but ya there's alot more going on in our bodies....
Glad you got a good guy then. It'll be great to start getting something done about it all....
I know im actually registered with the other doc in surgery but always go to Adrian and my friend is registered with Adrian but prefers the other guy. We always said if they ever split thatn we'd just swap doctors!! My doctor is the doctor for my service users at work aswel so when i was bad withmy back he knew exactly what i was dealing with cos he knows my service users where as trying to explain the day-in-day-out stuff in my job can be difficult sometimes and why it causes pain....
Fingers crossed anyway hon. x

I'm a social care worker. I work in a residential
House with 4 adult men with intellectual disabilities and/or autism and/or psych issues. It's a challenging behaviour unit.
Love the work but it can be exhausting....

Oh I always usually have a snack before bed hon - never does me any harm and it definitely helps keep the hunger off in the morning (considering I'm usaully up at half 6 or 7 and have to drive an hour to work LOL). Lot of the time my brekkie is at around 10am at my desk. What did ya have hon? I'm working from home and still deciding what to eat... hmm...
I never usually have anything after dinner.. But not coz I think it'll harm my losses or anything.. Because usually after i've had a good dinner I don't be hungry til morning..
Last night I had a yummy dinner but it was carb free and I s'pose that's probably why I was hungry later on.. If it hadn't been so late I'd have had something small but it was after 10:30pm and it'd have just lay in my stomach and made me feel bla this morning..
I was going to have porridge.. but I couldn't open the container I keep it in!!! Its stuck!! ha ha.. So I had weetabix instead..
I have fresh strawberries, mandarins, an orange and a banana for snacking on during the day so should be OK And I'll keep the coffee flowing lol
Ah for a minute I thought you were gonna be one of those "I don't eat after 6" people. Which is madness because I don't get home till half 6 from work - I'd end up with no dinner LOL.
Oh yeah carb free dinner sounds healthy - if it hadn't been so late a piece of wholemeal bread or toast would've been good eh!? Mmm...
Hahaha!! The porridge is stuck oh noes! Weetabix... maybe I'll have that. Ooooh or maybe I'll make eggs or something warm?! I'm getting hungry thinking about it hehe.
There's like one black banana and a mouldy looking apple here - send me some of your yummy fruit xx
