Freya's Weight Loss Diary

Thought I'd start a diary to record my journey to a healthy weight to help keep me on track with my new lifestyle!

I have lost about 75 pounds since Christmas, but the losses have really slowed down in the last month, so time to kick it up a notch! I started calorie counting and couch to 10k this week, and am really enjoying the exercise! I am using a free app on my phone that tells you when to run and walk, which I find really helpful as I don't have to think about how long I have left!

I started my new eating plan yesterday after all non-plan food was finished, but found I was really hungry between breakfast and lunch. So today I have changed things about a bit, and going to do my running before dinner rather than first thing in the morning, and had 50% more breakfast, cutting out my evening snack as I didn't really need it yesterday!

So far today I have had 60g cereal with 200ml skimmed milk and 200ml of orange juice for breakfast for 406 kcal. Waited until 10am to eat breakfast, and only just starting to think about lunch, so the change has worked so far!

I have also walked the dogs for 1hr30, but am not counting this as exercise as my heart rate wasn't up high enough for it too feel it counts!

I am trying for a big push to lose 4 stone for Christmas, so about 3lbs a week. I know it's ambitious but if I don't make it at least I tried! My dad is away travelling until then, and he was so worried about me at my biggest that I would love to be looking really different when he next sees me!

Off to heat up my soup for lunch, so another 260kcal!

Thanks SugarDetox - I'm hoping that my head now thinks I am a healthy eater, that this is just the way I eat rather than a diet, but every time I see chocolate I think I'm not quite there yet!

Updating for yesterday as was too busy last night!

I had two boiled eggs as a snack mid afternoon, which really helped me last until dinner without getting hungry. For dinner I had 250g of new potatoes, with tofu and asparagus, baby corn, fine beans and tender stem broccoli, and came in at 450 kcal. I found I was getting hungry around 9.30pm, so I had two passion fruit and some cold ginger water to fill me up!

Total calories for the day were 1296, so pretty much bang on target.

I finished week 1 of Couch to 10k, although instead of doing it three times a week I'm aiming for 5, every weekday. When I started week 1, I was covering 6.4km in the time (although not an accurate figure as on the treadmill, so only good for tracking progress!), and by yesterday did 8.9km in the same time, which I was really happy about!

I have also noticed a change in my sleep quality this week. It used to take me ages to get to sleep, and I would wake up often throughout the night. This week I have been falling asleep straight away and not waking up at all in the night. I feel so great in the mornings - no more waking up tired!

Feeling a little achy this morning, but nothing really bad, so will do some stretching to try and loosen things up! Gluten Free cereal, milk and OJ again this morning. Need to go to Sainsburys this afternoon as I noticed yesterday I didn't eat enough Calcium or Vit D, so will get a supplement! Have to be especially careful with vitamins as being a Coeliac Vegetarian it's harder to get all the things I need!

Had my lunch (soup, 240 k cal) an hour later today as busy taking all the moving house boxes and packaging to the tip.

Finding I am really hungry already though, so got my eggs in the egg cooker (I am hopeless at getting them right in the pan!), and posting in here to stop myself from snacking on one of OHs double choc shortbread cookies that he has bought! I hate knowing they are there in the cupboard, so have stuck a photo of me at my heaviest on the tin lid to try and scare me off if I weaken, just hope it doesn't put OH off as well :8855:!

Why is it that some days I feel full and don't even think about food, and others I eat the same thing and am starving?!

ohh tell me about this egg cooker, that sounds very interesting.

Well done for keeping off the biscuits, if it were me I wouldnt even allow them in the house, if I cant have em, no one can lol. Im just plain selfish.

This couch to 10k thing, sounds very scary. What are you doing, is it walking running or what? I know what you mean about not sleeping, im like that and I hate it.
