From here to Eternally Slim

Today's fish is cod. Not trout a la creme. I don't care anyway. Trout smells horrid for ages after you cook it.

Like metal. Maybe it's made from troutainium.

Am sitting with girls who should be going to sleep, but have not as yet. Once that's done, it's tea and dye time. Not simultaneously. When you find yourself eating purple cod you can guarantee a nuclear power plant somewhere by where it was caught.

You can also guarantee that you won't need a bedside lamp for a few weeks. Perhaps months. Depends when the glow starts to dim. Good for scaring a child on a 3am toilet run though...

many moons ago when I was a student nurse I was watching a trained nurse preparing an elderly confused lady for theatre the nurse gave the lady a glass thermometer with mercury in it and asked her to put it under her tongue. The lady looked at it said thank you and promptly bit the end of and swallowed it. The poisons advisary service was called and we were told that there is more mercury in a tin of tuna than there would be in a mercury thermometer!

The lady looked at it said thank you and promptly bit the end of and swallowed it.

Apparently I did this when I was about 4.

My family has always thought it explains a lot about me.

(I was also dropped on my head as a baby...)

Ah, its all a lot clearer now.

*ducks*

So, its 1.30 in the morning or thereabouts, give or take a couple of minutes and I have only JUST finished rinsing the dye off. I took the opportunity to slap all my hair on top of my head to make it look short, to see if I thought I could actually carry it off, and I think I just about can.

Havent dared take the towel off to inspect the dye job yet. For a colour that was supposed to be "violet" though, it was suspiciously red on the way down the drain.

I think I have mostly avoided dyeing my skin though. Which is a major result, I usually have a hairline like the Count from Sesame Street after I have put a dye on.

Guess I should get it dried off and get to bed, I am due at the hairdressers at 9. Squeeeeek. Culture shock ahoy!

Welcome back Ronnie! Good luck for your first day at new job tomorrow!

I am posting this from bed while watching the F1. It has just finished so really I should get up now but it's soooo comfy..

Hope you are all having a good weekend!!

CD that sounds like a plan to me the only reason i got out of my jammies was i needed to get some washing powder lol

Welcome back Ronnie. Enjoy your synful dregs day.

But come on, you lazy boneses. Some of us have been up, dressed & even out for hours!

I'll always have a shiny, CD, whatever I've earned it for!

But actually it wasn't too bad. The sun is shining, it's a beautifully clear day, and not nearly as cold as it has been. I even *winces* put on a dress & leggings. And my awesome boots, of course.

But I was very glad to come in to my hot & spicy bean soup. It's not THAT warm outside!

Meat & veg fine, as you say, CD. Just think about the fat in the roasties & Yorkies, and you'll find you don't really want them! (And anyway, they've got far too many corners for your throat to like them.)

Well SW on line seems to think they're only about 3.5 syns each. Add another couple for the gravy maybe. That sounds as though it might be something to look forward to!
