Just one more little thing to add, EF.

I was thinking about the saving syns thing, and I know we all need to do that sometimes. And clearly, from your diary and other posts, the weekend is your downfall.

Do you know whether there's a group anywhere near you that operates later in the week?

Because, as I said earlier on another question, doing a weekly countdown and averaging out your syns can be ok, but if you weigh yourself immediately after a binge day it isn't going to look good. We all have sneaky peeks on the scales, however much we know we shouldn't, and if you've been good in the week, peeked on a Friday, had a bad weekend and then weighed in on the Monday, the chances are that the Monday won't be as good as the Friday! (Even if both of them are better than the previous Monday.)

So if your weekends are likely to be heavier on the syns than the weekdays (and most people's are!) a Monday is probably the least "encouraging" day for you to weigh in.
If you take long term averages, then it really doesn't matter, because from one Monday to the next, you will have lost whatever you've lost during that week.
But in the short term, and to give you as much help as possible to get your weight loss motivation back, you really need as much encouragement as possible.

So is there any other day you can go to Group?

EF huni i am so sorry, i cant add to what the others have said, but i fully agree with all of them. You are such a strong woman who always supports us all when we need someone to talk to on here and we are here to do the same for you.

I went to group last night and put on a disappointing 1.5lb which takes me back to 6lb from target, which is 1lb under where i was at the end of October. I know we have had xmas, etc but even in November it seems that i didnt make any progress.

I think i too need the start again attitude, my friend has now left group and has said she will rejoin in Feb. I think that definitly until then i have no excuse not to stay to group, so that's what im going to do. Hopefully beyond that i will stay and if i dont it will be because im going to the exercise group next door. Even if neither of those things happen i need to get my diary in order and stop having the cheeky sweets and buscuits that i end up adding to my diary.

Here's to a new start!!! xx

Sarah, the only other group is Tues Morning around here, and changing groups to a different area might work if its on my way home from work. I'll look into that. But I also feel that I might then think to heck with the weekend completely, as I know I've still got a few days to get that off. Hmmm its a thought and I'll check the groups around my work anyway, and it is an option.

I know what I need to do. Spoke to consultant last night and she suggested starting with 12 syns a day this week, but add a few red days into my week too. So will give that a try. Today is green as Im at work all day, is easy to grab a jacket potatoe.

Pesty, sorry to hear about the wee gain. Sometimes it's easy to forget just how far we've come and get motivated to carry on, especially when we start getting more comfortable with our size. I blame my lack of commitment on getting into size 12 jeans, I'm fairly happy where I am now and it's hard to get motivated to get to target. I still have a long way to go though. You're not far from target mate and you can do this! Good luck!

My fingers are crossed for myself and everyone else weighing in tonight! Hope it's good news for everyone

I can only say we have all been there - lose it put it on lose it put it on it is a vicious cycle - but you have to look at the reasons of why you self sabotage yourself, think it is the weekends - you can do, you have done it and you know how hard it is to get the weight off but oh how easily it creeps back on...anyway just to say as well as everyone else - here for you... HUGS!

I'm back again - hopefully to stay this time as I need it!

I haven't had a read through the previous posts as I came on looking for syn values and am trying to get some lunch into me but I will get back on tonight once little one has gone to bed.

hi ef i put on 5lb over christmas (thoroughly deserved) and was finding it hard to get back to plan was fed up only losing a small amount or sts then i saw a thread for following s/w 100% well that was 11 days ago have followed it since then 100% and i realised there were a lot of little things that i wasn't doing properly like not counting syns for that bit of tomato ketchup thinking it didn't matter but at the end of the day they all add up or i would conveniently "forget" to syn that pkt of crisps i had thinking i'll add it to tomorrows food as i've gone over my syns today of course it never got added, since following 100% i have lost 7lb i am going to continue doing it as it has made me more focused i feel i have something to aim for and feel determined to get rid of those pesky pounds, it might help u if u try it good luck :D

Well Its been busy on here:D

EF Its a real bummer when you end up back where you started :sigh: it happened to me (and an extra stone :eek:) after my last Op.....then this last holiday gain, but at least you've made the 1st step now and you're doing something about it hun ;)

I can't add anything to the Brilliant advice you've already had off MLM (well done you by the way on the loss :)) and everyone else, just take it a day at a time now and keep focussed- were all in this together so we can all help each other through the tough times ;)

Dont worry about the teeny gain Pesty....you knew you had a bit of a naughty one at the weekend, and you will soon ge that gain back off.

Lovely to see lots of old (well not old in years :p lol) faces back on the thread) heres to us all being a big set of looooosers eh :D:D
 
Chaps, think I need a wee break from Minis. I am finding myself so enfuriated by certain things that I should before I get myself banned for shouting at people.

Thanks Valerie, that might help.. I do need to go right back to basics I know, badly. And saving syns up to use, Im going to only do that If I have a meal planned.If I don't loose them, in a day, then they are gone.. Feeling a loss already!!

Thanks CD, I'm so determined now, that shock yesterday really got me thinking. Just how much I have just let myself go, literally!! I've had a lot going on this year and its does seem to be that I comfort eat, can't eat when Im so stressed, but then sabotage myself when I've done well.. That needs to stop now.

Scan Bran, am feeling your inches (in the best possible way, lol)..You'll get them back off, we have faith in you.. and hey, you are on, lets go for it!!

Right, I have roasted peppers and mushrooms, spring onions on the go, have quorn meatballs and some passatta with basil, gonna add some thyme and chilli to go with pasta. Late finishing from work tonight and my foot is so painfull, shan't be venturing out, so will put my foot up, enjoy my pasta and curly wirly infront of Holby.

I'm back from WI with a 2.5lb loss, very pleased with that. Finally the numbers are going downwards again.
