Feeling a bit brighter today. Specialist referred to the large dent in the back of my right calf as to where the torn muscle should be
When I queried how/why this had just been noticed now, it was because it was not obvious whilst the leg was badly swollen previously.
He saw little point in operating as that would have meant a longer recovery period and also a protective plaster cast. I'm glad about that decision!
Preliminary tests have shown a severe lack of power in my right calf compared to left, though I was holding back a little because of the pain! Apparently this will slow my walking down and possibly make the steeper climbs more difficult. He's advised me not to walk ramblers style until after winter:cry:
