Had a look online and ordered the harcombe diet book and recipe book from the library, looks interesting and may give it a go, my only concern would be increasing protein over carbs, i thought to much protein/fats are bad for your heart etc, and the right carbs (brown rice, pasta bread) are good for you! but it def makes sense not to combine as quite heavy on digestion to break both down, so that makes sense. Similar to a food combining diet, will upate when i have read the book
Poppy ( hope you had a good break ! )
regarding your thoughts on carbs and protein.. well in the book it explains it alot better than I ever could, but, basically all foods contain protein..but its just the fat proteins and carb proteins that are the ' main' ones..and in fact, its the 'fat' meals that are better than the 'carb' meals, for losing the weight
Also Zoe explains that ( like it says in the title ) counting calories doesn't work !.. I know what you may think.. the same as I did, I've been under impression that the less you ate and the more you did, the more you lost.. but I have been converted by the ' sensible-ness' of her findings, which she has researched for over 20 years.. and if you have a look at TheHarcombeDietClubForum on google, that will give you alot of insight into this way of eating..
I have never felt so full, my husband cannot believe the amount I eat in a day ! Its all real food, not processed, and I recommend it.. my sister too, got the book, but only gave the diet ONE day - she said she felt hungry!! I dont believe that she ate enough.
anyway , thats enough for now on your thread ( sorry to go on , but I've finally found this, and want to shout it from the rooftops !
Well, good luck in whichever way you do it Poppy..
bye for now..
