I have 1000 cals for all my 'normal' food, 3 meals, milk and fruit allowance plus 'extra' calories for anything I want 300cals.
An average day for me would be
breakfast - 1oz cerial and 4oz banana (weighed with skin)
lunch - 2oz lean meat on 2 slices bread plus salad.
dinner - 3oz lean meat or 6oz fish, 5oz boiled potatos, plus as much veg as I want.
Milk - half pint skimmed milk or 2 diet yogourts
fruit - apple or orange or 8oz strawberries
Extras - bag of maltesers (180cals), small glass of wine (1oocals)
It works because you eat less calories than you use up in a day. I'll never get big weight losses with this diet but it means I'm eating real food with treats everyday so I find it easy to stick to.
I lost 4 and a half stone on this diet in 1998 and kept it off till last year (hubby gone to Nigeria diong voluntary work so maintenance went out the window), but I'm back in the right frame of mind to get back to it.
