Help needed

I have baby weight to lose- I put on 4 stone when pregnant and have 1 stone more to lose to get back to my pre pregnancy weight. My problem is that I live abroad in a hot country so people come on holiday to visit us, when they do we take them out for meals, fill the fridge with alcohol and treats and I find it really hard not to resist! It also means I cannot go to the gym as I have to entertain them. I love people staying but it is killing my weight loss. I have more visitors in a week for 2 weeks- help!!! I need a plan to get me back on track and to keep me on it when they are here! Any help would be much appreciated as I am fed up of my pre pregnancy clothes being too tight still!
 
Hi Vix, What a shame that things are being so difficult for you...I so feel your angst!
No easy answer to that one methinks...just a very strong determination which I know is not what you want to hear.
However, what about trying something like Paul McKenna's CD which I have found fantastic at helpng me cut down on portions and eat more slowly...it comes with his book "I can make you slim"..worth a try.

If you are in a hot country, you have plenty of lovely fruit, like melons. I found out that they are full of water, no fat and no cholestrol! Have been eating loads, and lost 2.5lbs this week. Also buy the things u like, and stash them away....not in the fridge!....Set up a daily diary, and download my fitness pal. Its fun and you can get loads of advice from other fellow fat fighters, like me lol!!

Thank you x I am going to hunt out this book- hopefully they have it here as the postal system is rubbish to order it online! Will download my fitness pal today. It is so frustrating that I have lost motivation when I was doing well, I have an active job which keeps the weight from going back on, however it's my diet that prevents me from losing it, the alcohol too!! I work full time, entertain visitors, look after my 5 month old baby- I just need to make sure I focus and keep motivated even when I am tired!
 
Just downloaded my fitness pal- it is SO good! This is definitely going to be the way forward now! I am currently obsessed by the barcode scanner- as some labels here are in Arabic I cannot read the calories and the scanner recognises them and tells me. Got my new obsession now- I am so back on this diet!

Sounds like you need to focus on some 'you' time as well!! Very busy lady ;)

I think probably the simplest answer is to stop stocking up on treats. Your guests will be eating out and about and will get their fill of naughty stuff anyway so you can fill your fridge with what you like :) when it's hot and there's been too much wine drunk I'd prefer a lovely light salad anyway!!!
 
Yeah I need to do that- I normally don't have treats in the house so visitors will just have to be healthier- will try and get that past the hubby who uses it as an excuse to have treats ha ha
I didn't realise how busy I am until I wrote it down! My fitness pal is working a treat- actually having to make sure I eat all my calories as I am now so conscious of what I put into my mouth! Still loving scanning the barcodes too- how sad am I?! Ha ha
 
You could try making some low calorie treats, or getting in some low cal buns, weightwatchers buns or maybe some plain biccies. Things that are wrapped seperately are good because you don't have the excuse of finishing the packet. And don't buy too much.. i found i was buying 2x the amount anyone needed and having the rest for myself! Really any friends worth it would be more concerned about you being happy and healthy x
