Making your own soups is dead easy
My lentil soup is..
1 leek
3 good sized carrots
½ swede ( turnip to us Scots)
approx 150g lentils ( you can use as much or as little as you want)
3 knorr ham stock cubes
dried parsley
salt & pepper
cut up the veg , bung in pot, add lentils, stock cubes, parsley, salt & pepper, and then cover with water ( I use a big soup pan, so I add probably 4 ½ pints of water) Bring to the boil and then simmer for about 20-25 minutes. Once the veg can be crushed with the back of a knife, its readyAllow to cool and then blitz with a hand blender ( or leave if you prefer chunky soup). Keep in a container in the fridge
Easy peasy![]()
When I have my soup, I measure out what I'm having ( I always have 300g of soup), and I mark it down as 69 calories ( this is because I was buying those fresh soups, and the lentil one was 69 cal for 300g). Fat wise, its well within the 5% fat as nothing in the soup is over this
