how long does it take to get into ketosis?

I'm on day 5 and still not in ketosis. The only thing i cant think of is ive had a wee bit of semi skimmed milk in work. Would that do it?
 
it shouldnt but also maybe down to how many carbs you had been eating before you started the plan? if you had a binge before you started you might take a little longer to get into ketosis xx

My life was a binge getting out of hand b4 i started lol

Thank you. My weight loss so far is great & definately motivated at the mo to stick to it.

the milk in small quantities is fine well it never throws me out of ketosis but may vary etc just keep at it it will happen. Body may try to fight it but power through and it will make the switch :)

I restarted today and I expect I'll just about be in ketosis by tomorrow night. I seem to have a fairly easy time of it compared to some people. Most people will be in within a week though so you shouldn't have long to wait. How do you know you're not in? Did you use the sticks?

Yes. The colour goes a pal pink (1.5) and im having bouts of hunger pangs : (
 
The hunger doesn't really go away until the second week to be honest. Pale pink is fine. Any sign of pink means you're in ketosis. You only get a mild state generally with a VLCD anyway and people vary a lot.

Thanks i thought there was something wrong with me. Everyone seemed to be getting into k really quickly. Its nice to know im there 2.
 
If you are going to test it's best done in the morning, mid pee :). The pink colour will vary depending on lots of things including how much liquid you have drunk but any pink shows evidence of ketones which is the sign of ketosis :)
