Hypnosis

Hi Brenda

I got the "Lose weight now"

It's 2 x 30 minute tracks
Track 1 is for reaching your target weight
Track 2 is for maintaining

I really have had a light bulb moment with it! Even if it wasn't helping me lose weight I would recommend it. Anything that gets me off to sleep and keeps me asleep is nothing short of a miracle

Good luck

It does work without a doubt, i find it works best as you have found if its used in conjuction with another form of help ie weightwatchers.

The mind is stronger than the body!

I have just started seeing a hypnotherapist, lots of food issues here! I told my GP, she said "great, I swear by it, I lost two stone using Paul Mckennas book!"
Will let you know how I get on!

Hi All,
I have seen a Hypnotherapist twice in the last 3 weeks. She has helped me to really understand weight loss - and now I seem to have just got 'it' (she was also involved in weight loss clubs for many years) I find visualising techniques of how you want to look, and asking myself questions such as 'do I really want to eat this creme cake more than I want to lose weight' really help. Also she tells me, I'm not on a diet, i'm trying to eat more healthy food. (when ever I told myself I was dieting before, I wanted to eat everything in sight) The only changes I have made are replacing snacks between meals with fruit or oatcakes/oatbars, and making a concious effort to walk more rather than using the car...and I have lost 6lb so far. My next step is to reduce my meal sizes slightly and see how I go with that.

She has now said she doesn't need to see me unless I feel I need more support, as I already have the tools...she has also taught me tapping (tapping your pressure points when you feel the urge to eat when you feel you shouldn't or that you don't want to eat the particular thing you crave) but I haven't needed to use that yet which is a good thing.

Hypnosis itself is a deep relaxation, and you have full control over your actions and can exit from it at any time - I could also speak although some people don't feel they can...

I hope what i've said is beneficial - and wish everyone all the best!

Hi all

I have so interested reading this thread as my husband is a qualified hynotherapist, but has changed careers now.
He recommends Paul Mckenna and holds him in high regard.
He has used a few exercises on me to judge if I was likely to be an easy candidate for hypnosis, he tested my visual imagination,(or something like that?) but didn't practise hynotherapy on me, because he realised I would probably not respond to him because of our relationship. No matter how much I begged him to! I thought of all the other women and men he was helping with their cravings, fears and issues....what about me:cry: LOL
Anyway on Friday i bought Paul Mckenna's book and cd, and have only had time to listen once, but I did relax, and my husband asked me afterwards if I felt my arms and legs heavy on waking, I did, and he assured me it was normal. I also struggled to open my eyes for a few seconds, but I do feel it has helped in some way and I will be listening again tonight.
My hubby does have lots of hypnotic calming music, like Paul Mckenna uses, but I reckon Paul's voice does the trick, fingers crossed it helps with my weight loss long term!

(not that my hubby's voice isn't dreamy too, but I would only recognise it as my husband telling me to lose weight!!!! LOL)

Hi!
Glad to hear hypnotherapy is working so well for people. I went to a hypnotherapist - who I don't think was so good - I mean - it definately worked and he cured me from eating sweet foods, but now I just tend to eat more savory instead! lol He did not really go into the weight loss thing just reprogrammed my brain not to want sweet foods. I don't think he was the best!
I now have Glenn Harrold on my MP3 and I really like him. Much more about working it out from all angles, if that makes sense?
I would also recommend him!

Sorry, Rainbow, but that made me laugh :giggle: I can actually understand why your hubbie can't help you, but how frustrating for you! I'm still loving Glenn and heartily recommend him - slow and steady

I've heard of Glenn Harrold before. Are no foods forbidden with his hypnosis like Paul McKenna? I wouldn't want to subconsciously be put off any food! As tempted as I have been in the past couple of days to diet, I haven't dieted for several years now and I don't think this will ever be a possibility for me again. But I love hypnotherapy CD's, especially Paul McKenna's and he always raises my mood too and makes me feel calmer. His CD's are much more than weight loss, although that's a pretty good place to start! :)

Janey xx

Hiya Janey :wavey: Glenn Harrold is all about eating consciously - very similar to Paul McKenna but without his "rules"

Oh I dunno about better - just different!!! :D I wanted a change, and a friend recommended Glenn to me, and my head was in a good place but I can't honestly say he's better than Paul.....:thinking2:
