I am stressed, and my appetite has completely gone. Since Tuesday I have only had 7 syns, and I've only picked at food. I'm averaging 1 meal a day only.

Last week I only lost 1.5lbs, which although I'm happy with, I was disappointed because my average is 2.5-3.5lbs each week. I was also stressed last week and only picking at food.

I know I shouldn't, but I usually weigh myself daily to see where I'm up to, and to keep motivated, although I only count the loss at WI. The batteries have gone in my scales so I don't know where I'm up to either and that's causing more stress.

Do I force myself to eat even if I'm not hungry? Or do I eat to satisfy my non-existent appetite?

HI MrsM10.
Welcome to SW & sorry to hear you feel stressed, you need to sit down and write yourself a weekly food plan then stick to it, taking into account your syns, you should then find that your stress levels drop as it's all planned, also the food bill can be lower if you plan well, where you can use the food for two meals or more.
Throw the scales away as your weight changes several times a day! Trust your Consultant electronic ones, they are the one's that matter.
Lots of luck.
Pete.

Awwww hugs sorry your feeling that way .... You could always try eating foods that are less filling to see if you can get more meals in fruit I find doesn't fill me for long so if I have that for brekkie I snack mid morning and soups too worth a try then you will be re fueling more and if you are still struggling to eat after a week I'd see gp I do have the odd day where I'm hardly hungry though that's the good thing bout sw I'm rarely hungry as the foods I make are filling

I managed to pick at a roast dinner yesterday evening. I ate the cauliflower, carrots, peas & a bit of pork. I was that stuffed I felt sick and what I ate was probably a quarter of what I normally would!

I do usually plan meals and eat well, but last week & this week have been so bad I just can't muster the energy to eat or even cook what I was planning to - although I'm forcing myself to so my hubby has something to eat. I'm literally just picking at stuff!

I bought my scales off eBay & they are awful! They are wrong all the time but I like to do a Sunday WI of my hubby to see if he's losing too - unfortunately the scales kid me all the time telling me I gained, then seconds later I am a different weight! But I still like to see that number getting smaller to keep motivated! This week there will be no at home weighing, so I'll see how I've done when Wednesday comes round!

I have an appointment with my gp tomorrow. I'll see what he says because I can't carry on like this. Before I started SW I would just pick at food and I was only having 1 meal a day! Previously I did snack a lot so although I'm not doing that, im definitely not eating enough to lose weight the SW way. I don't want my body to be holding on to food!

I'll have a go at making a soup this afternoon and see if that is something that I can force myself to eat. So far today, I've had a banana and 2 pineapple chunks. xx

How are you feeling emotionally? Stressed? Unhappy? We all NEED food to live, but if you're but hungry then that physiological response needs to be addressed too x

Emotionally I am a wreck, which I'm guessing is why my appetite is non-existant. I've got an appointment to see my dr tomorrow to see if there's anything I can do.

I'd suggest that you make a fruit salad and pick at that.. Eat little and often that way at least you might not feel as if you're eating a lot.

What's going on? I'm here if you need someone to talk to x

A fruit salad is a good idea. I will get onto that in a minute. I have quite a bit of fruit in at the moment that will need using before it goes bad!

It's just life in general (work, home, everything) that is just too much at the moment. I think I am just overwhelmed by a few things, and because I'm not sleeping or eating properly everything just seems magnified. Hopefully my Dr will be able to help out tomorrow by maybe tweaking my tablets a bit.
