You don't pay Slimming World so they can make a profit, you pay them to provide you with a service and I don't think they ever had the 'set beliefs and standards' you think they had, after all you must remember they are a business, and the fact that they want to make more money shouldn't disgruntle anyone.
It's a far healthier plan now than it was 20yrs ago (incidentally, virtually the whole of the Iceland Chinese takeaway range used to be 'free'!) so I don't think they are 'backtracking' at all, in fact it's improved a lot over the years, and although they still have rubbish like pasta in sauce, mugshots, etc, as 'free', their ethos still is based around making home cooked food using healthy ingredients wherever possible, and people eating a mugshot now and again doesn't take that away.
I don't understand why this would bother anyone, so much of the 'free' food on the plan is already unhealthy, mugshots are vile and full of rubbish, their own Hi-fi bars are so packed full of additives, I won't eat them, and I've not eaten a ready meal in goodness knows how long, so I doubt I'd eat one of those either, but some people will find them helpful and just because you and I don't want them, it does not mean there isn't a place for them in the market. x
I totally agree with you but let's see. And i agree they have other decisions i dont agree with, muller light yogurts are same, theres loads of healthier options that are not free but i dare say this has something to do with their massive marketing deals with muller. The ppl who are interested in them will let us know what they are like.
Incidentally, I used to eat the hi fi bars but I've stopped and my losses are better. Maybe a total coincidence but I've stopped getting them. X
. . . theres loads of healthier options that are not free but i dare say this has something to do with their massive marketing deals with muller.
Not only Muller but lots of other foods as well.
My husband was in Marketing for many years and he has a very cynical attitude regarding what SW rate as "free" food and class as a HexB.
As for things like Mugshots and pasta n Sauce - don't get me going on this subject unless you want a 2 page diatribe :8855:
And for my comments to get :censored:
Okay to class as a HexB it has to have the right amount of fibre and only a certain number of calories, but there are many products that meet this requirement that SW don't class as a HexB. Now I wonder why?
As you can see, I'm a cynical old bar-steward as well.
I just saw a picture of a sweet potato curry on fb,in slimming world packaging. If this is something to go by I don't think people will be disappointed x
Iceland??????? Hmmmm not for me
is that suitable for a vegetarian ? x
Says 550g which actually seems quite big for a ready meal I think (comparatively speaking)
Yes, they lose of respect, but in this time they make huge money which is their target. It's not always beneficial to be so hypocritical as a company. There will undoubtedly be a loss of respect.
