Well, here i am on day 1. part of me is screaming to stop this now and go and eat something, but i am winning and sipping my water. I have a headache which isn't helping and my husband has just gone round the shops with the kids to get a sweet or ice cream:cry: i know that in the end this will all be worth it!

I stopped smoking 10months ago and this feeling is very familiar. I am sure that my body needs to adjust just like it did then and this will all feel ok in a couple of days:).

I am so glad that i have found this site to help me!!

Hang in there Jakki. I had a terrible headache on Thus and Fri as I started my diet, and today I did not. Your body needs to adjust. I have heard that it is okay to take paracetamol (acetaminophen) for the headache. Good luck, and do feel free to PM me if you need anything at all!

Well done on quitting smoking that is a wonderful achievement, and just think with the willpower to do something like that you know you can lose weight too, because you must be really strong. :D

thanks for the support. I am doing great at the moment. Day 5 and things are settling down for me now. I still want to eat everything in sight, but not because I am hungry but because I think I should!! On weighing in today I believe I have lost a staggering 9lbs!!!!!

I am sooooo totally blown away by this, I keep telling my husband and children over and over again...they are wishing I would be quiet now I can tell!

My official weigh day is Tuesday and that's when I am going to do my measurements aswell. And do you know what? I don't care if it is 'all water' or if I will 'put it all back on when I start eating again' this is the kick start and motivation I need to do this. And thats the bottom line...I need to do this, not my husband or my family or friends but me.

I love this diet!!!
 
Remember - eventually he will be on your side. When he sees everything you've lost he will be saying how gorgeous you are! And think about playing games with your kids, and being the prettiest of all their friends' moms - having them ask you, "How did you do it?"

9 lbs is amazing!! Great job - keep it up!!!
 
sounds like a VLCD. Possibly CD?
 
ok...so here I am on my first weigh day. I have been checking my weight every day, just to remind myself that this is all worth it but even so standing on the scales and knowing that today is the day that it counts has still blown me away. I can't wait to post this message and then up date my ticker!! my weight loss for week one is a massive.....13lbs!!!!! I don't care if 'it's all water' or if I'll 'put it all on when i start eating' or if I 'shouldn't expect to lose next week' as some of my family have said about it!!

I don't care because i have lost 13lbs!!!!!!!

dont let anyone put you down
a loss is a loss -- and think positive for next week aim at 1 or 2lbs and when you lose more youll be shocked -- thats what im doing
i lost 8lbs this week first week on cd:d:d
 
well done to you too. I am not listening to what others say, the comments have mainly come from members of my family who are overweight themselves :eek:(

do you know how to update my ticker? i have done it on the website but my signature just shows the same one without the weight loss??

Go jakki!!!!!! Yahoo!!!!!! You rock!! Keep this with you! Do not listen to what anyone else says!

As far as not losing any in the future - a word of caution. I myself am preparing my mind for next week so I don't hate myself. But this rate will slow. Probably next week a lot will come off, and then it will gradually slow to a steady weight loss of maybe 3-5lb a week? Just know that you are still losing and screw what everyone else says!!
 
thank you soo much for encouragement. I know it wont last forever at this speed, but hey - what a boost to start it off with!! and this site is so brilliant, it's so nice to read everyone else's highs and lows so you know what to expect and how they have dealt with the lows.

and it's such a help knowing that I am not the only person in the world who is not tucking into the delicious dinner but sipping, slowly, on a milkshake that isn't great but is passable!!!

Roll on the days when I am psychologically able to make the healthy choices with food and the issues and hangups i have are a thing of the past. I feel they are leaving me with every pound i lose!!
