Jim's lazy Atkins diary

If he's happier at home than that's where he should be allowed to die. Hope he doesn't give you two or the carers any trouble though, after all he's got his own way!

Morning all, well all back to normal now, well as normal as it can be at the moment. I have a medical in Town this morning for one of my pensions, this one pays a pension rather than putting the money into a pension pot, don't thinks it's worth much but every little helps. :) I've been told to exaggerate everything, how much I drink, how much smoke etc... LOL.

Hope Jack is ok and I'm sure your mum isn't really feeling neglected - its so hard to balance everything at times like this. When my mum needed to go into a nursing home the hospital social worker said she was not prepared to sanction carers going into her home any more as she needed greater care than could be safely provided. It didn't stop mum looking at me accusingly for "putting her in a home" and saying "I never thought you would do that to me". There just wasn't the choice any more - she couldn't look after herself. Once she got to the nursing home though, she didn't realise where she was - she thought she was in a little flat as her own things were brought in - a few key bits of furniture. For her it was the best solution, although not at all perfect. I guess what I'm trying to say is that whatever you do it will be a compromise - you have to do what feels right x

Morning all, thanks for that Gem it helps when you know pwople who have been through the same love.

Nice weekend here, apart from being turfed out of our bedroom because the decorators are in. Still we should be back in tonight once the paint stink has dissipated.

Here's Olivia helping Granny water the cucumbers and her own little flower bed.Image008.jpgImage002.jpgImage003.jpg

Bless - she's a little more use than my furry helper! It is really good for them to grow things from an early age - I certainly value the experiences I had as a child, both with my dad and the lady next door who was a very keen gardener x

Morning all, ridiculous weather isn't it, boiling hot one minute, pissing down with rain the next. i got caught out in in it yesterday, one minute I was soaked to the skin, the next i was steaming. LOL. On a good note though it isn't half helping our veggies grow, this cucumber is 14" long and we only planted the pots a couple of weeks ago.

In the words of the old music hall song "Oh what a beauty" Jim. I have tomatoes on my tomato plants and loads of lovely calendula flowers and begonias running riots x

Morning all,

Any one want some cucumbers? we are over run with them now, we've given away as many as we can and we still have too many. LOL

I I were closer Jim I could take some off your hands - good that you have had a bumper crop x

Morning all, maybe we need to set up a cucumber network LOL!

Sounds interesting Jim - be interesting to see how that would work out ;) x

Morning all, we're off to Gloucester docks today, although the weather outside at the moment is black and raining the forecast for later in Gloucester is good. See Gem, if I'd thought ahead we could have rendezvoused in Gloucester and had a cucumber exchange LOL Last day of Colleens holidays today so back to normal this weekend.

That's true Jim - Gloucester isn't a million miles from here. Have a brilliant time and make the most of Colleen's last day of holidays. It'll be good when you're both retired, then you can choose your days. Mr Stone still has until March officially to work but he is most likely going to go on until May 2015 as it will benefit him to do so x
