Top of da morning to ya!
Hope you're all doing good. Been a nice few days so far, mainly because I stuck to the plan which is nice. Nothing but 3 shakes a day and water (and 2 cups of coffee) over the last 3 days.
Today is day 4 and polished off my first shake half hour ago (creamy coconut) not bad not bad. I must say variety as they say is the spice of life, and I'm certainly finding that with these Exante shakes. It's nice to have 12 odd flavors or so to be able to dip into as the mood takes you.
My tooth pain continued it was just kind of sensitive. So I went to the dentist. She put a temporary filling on my tooth. It got worse. I've been in pain last 14 hours ha. Good news is Paracetemol at max dose of 1000mg in 24 hours helps a lot with the pain. Called today and had my next appointment moved forward to tomorrow evening, so hopefully will be sorted within about 2 days.
Lost my passport a while ago, and am planning some trips next year. Also it's kind of handy for ID, and I'm missing it. Will be heading to the casino to play a couple of poker tournaments and need the passport for ID, so have been looking into getting it renewed. I think I have it running like clockwork at the moment. (1) Meeting a friend for lunch on Friday to get my photos endorsed. - I'll be on the shakes of course! (2) Going to book a 1 week quick appointment on Friday and get down to the passport office. (3) should have it back within a week. I just checked the ID requirements and as it's a lost passport, i don't need any supporting documentation, just the two photos. Nice.
I have some work to do that I've already been paid for today (and have had for last few weeks). It really shouldn't make any difference, but I do find I'm a bit less motivated in these situations. Of course it shouldn't make a blind bit of difference... but just reality of psychology I guess. Won't affect the quality of my work or how I apply myself to it but still, will be nice when it's finished the present batch of work that has lasted for some months (me and the person that employed me to do it, who is working on behalf of another client, will both be very happy when it's finished, and it almost is!).
I took a Netflix subscription recently. As we often realize on minimins, the main thing I miss about food (already just on day 4 of the diet again) - is the pleasurable experience of eating it. I guess food is like a drug to that extent. I'm not hungry. Just miss the pleasurable experience of eating nice food. So my Netflix subscription is an effort to distract from and replace the sense of pleasure to an extent. I think we all need some kind of enjoyable thing we're doing in our lives. I'm into psychology and I've read a fair bit about habits and addictions in my time, and the pleasure/reward center of the brain can be a very smart and efficient system at getting us to do things that cause us pleasure. So the trick if we want to stop doing things that cause us pleasure but not lasting happiness (i.e. eating whatever we want when we want) I guess is to find other sources of pleasure that are healthier to us, whatever shape that may take.
The Netflix program I've been watching is 'Making a Murderer'. I don't normally go in for the grizzly crime documentaries (and in fairness this isn't all that grizzly). But I would go as far as saying it's one of the most thought provoking, shocking, and perception shifting things I've ever watched in my 30 odd years of being on the planet. Basically how an entire police force and legal system essentially had it in for one guy and fitted him up again and again... I'm not giving anything away there either I'm only about half way in myself (it's a 10 hour series!) and its premise is that the guy was falsely accused. I really recommend watching it if you have Netflix.
Decided to start writing a little more than 'ok done it' in my blog. Nice to share a bit of what's going on.
Oh yeah also I hit my first goal I set on here to fall below 20 stone a day or so ago. Am not going to update it until My official weigh in on Sunday morning.
Have a great Wednesday!
