Kay's journey to health and happiness

oooh Kay, stop all those negative thoughts.

You have had a great loss this week, got your awesome award and should be congratulating yourself. Don't let yourself get down over what you have left to do. You KNOW that you can follow the plan, just look how well you've done, so there is no reason at all that you'll all of a sudden fail at it.

Take the compliment that others gave you at group, you're looking great as you are, and people can't see the other 3.5 stone you are planning to lose. Hold your chin up and think, yes, I am looking good RIGHT NOW. Not, I won't look good til I've got to goal. Because I'd bet my house that you're looking like a totally different, and healthier woman than you did the first day you went to group.

Also, stop fixating on 9 stone. Will it really be the end of the world if you get to say 11 stone, and the weight stops coming off? Of course it won't. And you'll STILL be 5 stones lighter than when you started. And so much more healthy. And skinnier! You're not all of a sudden going to turn round and say, well I didn't get to 9 stone, so I am going to lash back on that 5 I worked so blooming hard to shift.

So, allow yourself today to reminisce over the old pics- it's good to look back and enjoy them. But don't beat yourself up over them.



Just thinking about old pics I have here, of when I was skinny. A life time ago now. Even if I get back to the weight I was as a teenager I'll NEVER be smaller than 11 stone. And if I DO get down, sure I'll be more wrinkly and grey, so I won't look like 18 year old me anyway.

Hey Niamh, thanks so much for your support, I really appreciate it. I am set at stopping at 9 stones because I know I was that weight 3 years ago, not a lifetime ago so I can do it again. It's just when I saw the pics I got a bit emotional as to whether I will get there again, we all go through doubts in our lives at some point. But you are right I need to stay positive and not dwell on the past. I have put the pics away so I'm not tempted to look at them again. I don't want to focus on the past or the future for that matter, but just focus on the present and my mini goals, one step at a time. Thanks once again. Hope your having a fab day hun :).

Indeed we do! Just caught a LOVELY side on view of my reflection, and all my bellies in their glory. Had a mini-internal-melt-down at the thought of having to get into a dress or nice top tomorrow for confirmation we have to go to. But, once I've my hair and make up done, and squish myself into sucky pants, I am sure I'll be ok ;)

3yrs ago something triggered your weight gain & something has triggered your excellent loss so far. Maybe it's about recognising both of those so u continue to do what makes you happy.

Afternoon everyone :), thank you all for your kind words of support. I went for a long walk to clear my head out. I came back and read all your lovely posts. I have put those pics away now, will concentrate on the present and will not think further than that.

I have printed the pic of the bunny with the bow and stuck it on my fridge as a reminder that I will be that cute dinky bunny one day :D .

Aww thanks so much Cookie, your so right about the triggers. Maybe it was the memories attached to those pics that got me down more than getting to a certain number. Also TOTM fairy has come today so that probably explains why I'm feeling so emotional. SW has become such an important part of my life, I absolutely love love love the plan ! I'm looking forward to continuing on my journey. I just don't want to look back or at the future, just want to enjoy my present. I will keep smiling like a happy bunny and enjoy this journey as you said. Thank you so much for your kind words Cookie I really appreciate it. :)

Yep I only made it yesterday, got loads left but am still enjoying it. Didn't drink as much water today, maybe 2L because of TOTM I feel so bloated. Celery and sweetcorn soup sounds so yum. I'm so excited about tomorrow's weigh in for you, really want to see if the soup challenge is working. I'm sure your gonna do brill hun ! :p

You know how I KNOW you're going to do this? Because I can see how much you want it. Everyone here can see how dedicated you are and you really are an inspiration. You can achieve anything you want to, so cast those doubts aside and get back to super happy and positive Kay again!

Weight loss is such a personal thing that it needs to be your decision where your goal is. So long as its a healthy weight and you know its maintainable with a healthy diet and exercise why not aim for the size you were in the past? I can't lie, I'd kill to be your weight right now, but I'm not you in your body and if YOU don't feel happy with yourself at the minute then I think carrying on losing is the right thing to do.

It's so easy for me, or someone else larger than you, to say you're 'mad' for wanting to go lower. But I know when I finally get to my 12st initial target that if I still don't feel at a point where I'm happy with my body I'll continue until I am. You're not putting all this hard work in to finish your journey with an average or okay body (in your eyes), you want to look and feel fantastic, so always work toward that as your goal!

I think a big part of your journey though is learning to love yourself again. I know that sounds like something a therapist would say, but I think a massive part of this weight loss process is facing up to those issues in our heads. You gained 7 stone and have now lost half of that, of course its going to leave you with some questions as to how you got to this point, I'm exactly the same. If anything I think at my biggest I was in such a state of denial that I didn't even realise how massive I was. Strangely enough for me its only now I'm losing weight that I'm much more aware of my size, it really does bother me much more now than it did at my heaviest! Crazy eh?!

Anyway, I'm glad your walk cleared your head. Please just remember though that whatever size you are you're an amazing person and no number on a scale can ever change that. I'm sure you're like me and you'd never dream of judging someone for their weight, so why are we so harsh on ourselves? You are gonna do this hun and me and the rest of your minis buddies will be cheering you on the rest of the way! xxx
 
I've just wrote your recipe down , il be trying it next week,
Yea sweetcorn and celery certainly sounds different ,
Have you tried the tomatoe soup that you put picked onions in?
I haven't but it's another in my list of to try , x

TOMATO SOUP RECIPE
2 tin tomatoes
1 tin carrots
1 tin baked bean
1 veg stock cube
1 large or 4 sm pickled onions
1/2 pr water
Chilli flakes ( optional )
Herbs of your choice

METHOD
Throw all in a pan
Bring to boil
Blend ,

That's is ,
Also says can be made kept in fridge and just heat a mug as required ,

Wow it's making me hungry gonna do my soup
Yum yum

I definitely think thats where we go wrong, looking too far ahead! Whenever I think of how far I have to go I just want to cry, mini goals have definitely helped so much! It's hard sometimes though isn't it? Because as much as people say to enjoy the journey, we all really just want to get to the end! :p Ah well, it will happen in good time.. Right I'm headin off to the future in-laws for home made chicken casserole, thankfully they don't have cats so my dinner won't get nicked this time!
