Kay's journey to health and happiness

I think weeks of healthy eating has perhaps changed my tastebuds. I'm not going to say I don't like chocolate anymore, that's not true I do. But I think what's changed is my capacity to eat junk. I know before I would have got all that chocolate down me, but I've ate 2 and want to throw the rest of the bag in the bin :(. I bet you all think I'm mad :rolleyes:. I actually have begun to like the taste of fresh stuff like fruit. My aunt made some samosas the other day and all I could taste was the oil, it was nice, don't get me wrong but after using frylight for so long I can't handle greasy stuff anymore. So much for enjoying junk food. I'm seeing myself changing. I could eat a whole plate of deep fried stuff before.

I can't add anything to that Kay , I wish I was nearer to you and could pop round for a herbal cuppa , a good ol chat and a hug xxxxx

Can you bung it into the back of your freezer? Like an emergency stash? That way you'll have it there for next time you want a bit, but you probably won't want it if that makes sense?

That's a nice idea Niamh, but when I have a crazy fit, I can turn into a caveman and eat a frozen one too ! :17729:
 
I had a chippy tea after w/i last week, hadn't had one in a while. I used to regularly eat friend food, but OMG I felt so BLAH after it, and all the next day my stomach was NOT happy.

So we need to embrace the changes, and move on. We've developed new tastes, which are better for us. If you feel ill today, maybe you'll remember this feeling in the future and not want to succumb to the choc-monster.

Yeah, but you don't have to eat it NOW if it's making you feel sick, and you're not binning/wasting it.

Ah that's so true, we are all changing, I guess I should look at it as a good thing. I don't know why I was expecting the old me to come back when I opened the bag, still can't get my head around the fact that I didn't enjoy chocolate, so not like me, or should I say the old me. :)
 
Don't dissapear Kay. Don't know if you've been on my diary today but have had a mahoooosive gain! I had exactly the same all last week really, was as sick as a dog with it all too. I feel a lot better now that I have weighed in and finally drawn that line. We all have times like this, it makes us human and its nice that there are others out there the same too. Hope you're not too hard on yourself and manage to get re focused soon. xxxxxxbig hugxxxxxx

Thanks Bubble, sorry for your gain hun, I know I will be feeling the same tomorrow. Nope I won't disappear, your all so kind and supportive, I'm just surprised at my binge turning into a flop, I really thought I would enjoy myself, but ended up feeling sick :sigh:.
 
Think there must be something in the air today!!! :(I'm exactly the same. I'm going out for tea so was trying to be healthy but I've had a pink n white, a time out, mikado's, kinder surprise and loads of other stuff and now I feel so bad! But still want more! Grrr :cry: xxxxx

Aww not to worry hun, as you've seen we've all been at it, I think sometimes its not that we need it but its just a case of getting it out of your system. Sometimes I feel we need to do it in order to find our focus again if that makes sense ? You will know when your ready to get back on it and you will lose again hun. I think we all have to stop being so hard on ourselves, this weightloss thing is not that easy :), it sure is an emotional journey too.

Sometimes I feel we need to do it in order to find our focus again if that makes sense ? You will know when your ready to get back on it and you will lose again hun. I know. I know exactly what you mean! That makes all the sense in the world. I have to binge to get remotivated! Which makes no sense! I will be getting straight back on it tomorrow, just not feeling it today :( I think it's because I'd been good then only had a measly pound loss when I'd been sooo good and under calories all week so having a bit of a screw it day. I've now started on the dairy milk and I'm not even really enjoying it. Normally I will just sit and suck a couple of pieces and really enjoy. Now I'm just shoving it in and feel sick. Why do we do this! :cry: It is nice to know I'm not on my own though!

You are so right there. Of course losing weight isn't easy, otherwise everyone would be slim! Feel so sick. Going to drink plenty of water now and not eat anymore until tea tonight (going out for a nice meal with the bf :) ) so going to enjoy that guilt free (maybe a little guiltily) and then straight back to it tomorrow. But then at the weekend I've got this hen do so I won't even be able to keep it up then. I'm already thinking no weigh in next week, or weigh in on saturday before I go but that kind of defeats the principle doesn't it? xxxx
 
Completely get ya on the changing taste buds thing. I can't eat crisps any more as they dry my mouth out completely! Before SW i absolutely loved nothing more than a big bag of tangy cheese Doritos and now I can't even eat one! Bizarreness!

I guess in a way its a good thing though that our bodies start craving the healthy stuff and not the bad stuff. Makes it easier for us to stay on plan xx

Hey hun, as you said me and you both will start fresh tomorrow and draw the line. Enjoy yourself today with you bf, don't worry about night out on Sat, I would still weigh myself in the morning because you will have 6 or 7 days to get the weight off before your next weigh in, but its up to you hun. :)

I know right. I find too much salt in crisps now and too much sugar in choc than I'm normally used to. And once you start eating fresh food, you don't enjoy processed junk that much. Once apon a time I used to like mug shots, but I've so gone off them now. It's funny how our taste changes over time.

Yes, you're right. Just feel so stupid and annoyed at myself now! Sorry for ranting on your page :( So if my normal weigh in day is monday do you think I should still weigh in next monday as usual or weigh in on sat before I go to see how I'm doing? What do you think would be best? xxx

Oh I forgot, Monday is your normal weigh in day isn't it, well I would still weigh in on Monday despite my night out (not on Saturday), knowing that there maybe be a gain but that figure would spur me on to really go for it the following week and plus the challenge starts then :D so its perfect timing, enjoy yourself on Saturday knowing that you will lose it all the following week, I will be doing the challenge with you so we will be supporting each other everyday that week ! :p You've got nothing to worry about it. :) (But try not to go crazy on the cals on sat if possible lol)

Okay so I've decided not to keep the rest of the chocolate in the house, I've thrown it all in the bin :eek:, waste I know but better it being in the bin then on my stomach ! I don't want any temptation in the house from tomorrow. I'm going to start fresh and try and lose my gain for next week when the challenges start, looking forward to that already :).

Thank you Kay! You have made me feel sooo much better! You're exactly right! I will weigh in on monday as usual and take the gain head on and lose it all the following week. I can do this! And I'm hoping the challenge will really help! I will try and be good saturday, I just know it's going to be a boozy weekend because it's for my friends hen party. I don't drink at all when I'm dieting as just think it's empty calories so this weekend is an exception. Hopefully I'll drink so much I make myself sick haha! And then it's no calories hehe. xxxx

As I've just typed my last post its actually sunk in that I've just thrown a whole load of chocolate down the bin ! Omg, where is this willpower coming from ?? lol I think the new me is ready to beat the crap out of the old me haha ! Loving it, getting my mojo back slightly. What a crazy bunny I am, I always need a blip to get my fighting spirit back ! I won't be defeated ! I'm so ready to have a 100% week now ! :D Can't wait to get tomorrow out of the way now and move on ! ;)
