Right I've changed my target on my stats to 9 stone and my target date back to Christmas this year, now I just need to tell my C ! grrrrrrrr xx
Oh Kay, I feel for you. We've probably all been shopping and spur of the moment bought things that when we get home and try on, we wonder what on earth we were thinking. I know you can't get refunds on sale items but they may let you exchange of give you a credit note?
I have horrible arms too but there are things you can choose that disguise that, the other day I bought a lovely top that was quite slim fitting and had a patterned body but with sheer black sleeves. The way it hangs is really flattering, I felt ok with still two and a half stone to lose and got lots of compliments. I can't wear tight sleeves though, or very clingy jersey type fabrics as they definitely show the lumps and bumps!
Targets aren't set in stone and can be revised of course.
As to joining the gym, I'd be careful, you don't want to make your back worse in the long run but maybe the hospital could refer you to physio who could then advise what you CAN safely do, at home. Toning doesn't always need heavy weights, can't you use lighter ones, maybe sitting in your chair with your back well supported and over the day doing lots of repetitions?
