Sorry to ask a personal question but how do you stay 'regular' on s&s? I was taking movical before but it has citric in it.

I've tried all the different supplements known to man that have been suggested but the only thing that really works for me is Dulcolax Pico Perles. Take 2 or 3 twice a week and everything is fine and dandy :)

Thank you just dont want to deal with problems there 2 : )

Another alternative is psyllium husks. I prefer to use that to add fibre rather than regularly taking a laxitive which doesn't seem the healthiest way to go if you have an alternative. However, if you decide to have psyllium husks (available as a capsule too) then you'll need to drink extra water.

See with my ibs I'd be scared of laxatives...I get worked up enough about going out incase it starts without a laxative. I might see about the husks. Are they dear? Xo

I don't remember - I bought them ages ago from Holland and Barrett.

The only thing that helps me and i have IBS! is purea teas from holland and barrat! they are in a red and white small square box cost around £1.85 for 10, you drink one before you go to bed, they are herbal so all natural stuff! they taste like peppermint tea, quite nice but i wouldnt recommend having more than 1 in 1 night! i couldnt leabe the house when i had two once. I only have a purea tea twice a week but it states on the box you can have them once a night for 1 month then have a break and then re-start them. they are fab :)

Ive heard of these before. They sound good & would probably be better for me than the movical i used to have to take every day

I put 2 or 3 heaped teaspoons of bran in my porridge or chilli every day

I have bran but i read somewhere it could knock you out of ketosis.

possibly it does , I dont worry about that too much, im in and out of it like a yoyo anyway to be honest , but if it worries you then avoid and try something like the husks

I used Movicol while on Liptrim and it never affected my ketosis or my losses so i think I'm going to keep using it!! X

I wouldn't use a laxative as the first thing I tried. I would try the fibre supplements first and see if they help things along but I've tried everything (except the bran that Phoenix uses) and nothing works for me at all. I've tried them all. So I have to resort to the Pico Perles but I'm ok with that as I know that when I had my Xmas break everything returned to normal in days.
