Total Solution Last Chance Saloon

Day 10 nearly done..found it quite easy today which was a bonus. People all around me stressed with work deadlines and a table full of goodies which everyone was snacking on (apart from me) It didn't particularly bother me today but I was amazed how much mindless snacking goes on in the office and I am usually one of the worst offenders. Brought in my 2 litres of water and that kept me going and went for a lovely long swim this evening. Having a glass of fizzy water now and think I will sleep well tonight. That restless jittery feeling seems to have gone now..maybe it is the ketosis..:)

Sounds like you're doing really well Goldie. I'm on my 3rd day of back on 100% and hope to have a decent loss this week as my losses have been pretty low since the first week. However, saying that, 21lb in 7 weeks is an awsome amount to lose!

Lynne you are doing so well..its hard when you stop and start. I know that it will be difficult for me in about a weeks time as I am going away for a weekend in about 8 days time and am still pondering whether to bring my shakes and bars or go low carb. I know I won't drink alcohol so I will be controlled but still not sure what to do. I'm scared that my all or nothing mentality will kick in and I will have to restart. Time will tell. On the bright side I weighed again this morning and lost 0.6 pounds from yesterday so all going the right way. That is 3.6 pounds in from the 3rd day of my week 2. This diet is like a wee mini maths exercise lol!! Wish I could resist the scales but it gives me a wee rush of excitement in the morning. Hope I don't get too demoralised when the scales slow as I know it will happen soon. I need to mentally prepare myself for that one! Best of luck today. I am at a training course all day so won't have as much opportunity to glug as much water but on the bright side no one munching all round me to test my will power. Best of luck today :)

Day 11 nearly done and dusted. As far as the diet goes, it wasn't too bad. Was at a training course all day and only difficulty was my concentration levels flagged by late afternoon. Everyone was passing round sweets as the afternoon rolled on to keep themselves awake. The main problem was that in the canteen I couldn't avoid the 20 questions I got over my exante bar. Mind you, nobody said that I shouldn't do it, a couple of people said they knew family/friends that had used a vlcd to lose weight so maybe it is a little more socially acceptable these days. The only other comments were that they wouldn't have the willpower to do a meal replacement diet and I suppose any other thoughts they had they thankfully kept to themselves. I said I was only doing it for 2 weeks so i think they thought that was acceptable. I really really hope that that comment doesn't turn out to be true! :)

Hi Goldie. well done you. I wish I could report such a good day. I had 2 Atkins bars for luch and then went to meet a friend who is on long term sick leave for 'lunch' intending to just have a black coffee and some water. However I couldn;t resist having a salmon salad with coleslaw and mayo. I really hope I haven't messed up my weight loss this week! I keep telling everyone else to take each day at a time and that's just what I'm going to have to do tomorrow. New day, new start. I'm really disappointed when I had been going so well. On the other hand, it wasn't that bad a lapse. I didn't have any cakes or chocolate or wine!

you are still ok Lynne..don't worry about it..we have to learn to come off exante properly at some point so consider it a 'training day' or a WS day. Forget about the atkins bars, they are ok and the salmon salad is fine...Just get back on it on the morning and don't dwell on it!!!!

Thanks Goldie. I may even still be in ketosis since I didn't have many carbs.

Thats the spirit..keep on..keeping on...it WILL work! Off to bed soon and another wee weigh in. Fingers crossed for another wee loss :fingerscrossed:

Day 12 begins. Another 1.4lbs off! Really pleased with that! That puts me at 16lbs on total since I started. Now a mini challenge begins. I have official weigh in on Monday and the weekend looms! I have no social engagements planned (turned one down for sat night) so nothing to distract me. It will be a boring weekend and boredom and weekends are eating triggers for me so going to make plans to keep me occupied. big house clean, dog walks and swimming and come on minimins for support and inspiration....Failure is NOT an option!!!:)

You sound really motivated! I'm going to try to have a 100% TS weekend. Like you it will be a case of keeping myself busy - housework, washing, gardenting, sorting my wardrobe etc. Also going to try to make sure I go running. If I don't start losing weight more quickly my new clothes won't fit for m holiday! It amazes me how sizes vary from brand to brand!

Hi Lynne, I am just in from a long swim..keeps me away from temptation...I am sure jogging is the same for you. Day 12 nearly done! Noticed my swimsuit a bit baggier tonight and I'm not complaining! I have a wardrobe full of clothes ranging from size 12 - 20 (including swimsuits) so will have no problem finding clothes to fit!! Weekends are difficult for me too so lets keep each other going. I have my week 2 weigh in on Monday so I really don't want all hard work to be in vain. We will just have to knuckle down and do it. After all I did refuse a girly night out tomorrow night so I wouldn't fall off the wagon and it would be an awful shame to have wasted it for nothing. Going to get another pint of water down before bedtime. One thing I have noticed I am having really vivid dreams at the minute. I wonder if it is the fat burning? Let me know how the jog goes :D

And DAY 13 begins. Hope I can do ok today, couldn't resist hopping on the scales again and another 0.5lbs gone. Happy with that as every morning I have seen a loss which keeps me motivated. Got to stay on track today so going to try to keep myself busy..I have done my washing, back to bed to catch up on Corrie (well it IS saturday!) then when this rotten rain stops out for a long walk with the dog, then house cleaning, then a movie to watch then going for a swim in the evening to keep temptation at bay. Hopefully not letting boredom kick in will keep me on the straight and narrow!!

Blimey, your day is well planned. It's quite bright here (Derbyshire just north of Chesterfield) although heavy showers are forecast. It's really annoying the way it predominantly rains at weekends so we can't put the washing out after having had a number of good drying days on work ddays during the week. I'm going to go through posts ofn the forum, then put some washing in and then walk the dog.

oops....tried to mix a strawberry and vanilla shake and didn't put enough powder in with the result I am drinking a rather watery and bland milkshake...at least I will have a nice creamy one with the rest of the powder to look forward to tonight. That's what I get for trying to do something different. Walked the dog and got soaked! I live in Northern Ireland and we are going through all the seasons here in one day. Just put the heating on as I am freezing. Haven't even started on the housework today....looks like it might turn out to be a chill out day lol! After all, there is always tomorrow but will definitely go swimming later...will get busy if I feel the boredom hunger kicks in but in the meantime..I will relax!

Day 13 nearly done..had a few shaky moments with the old willpower today..Saturday is always my difficult day but I am so proud of myself that I stayed strong and know that now I am over the 'hump' so to speak it will be plain sailing until bedtime. Day 13 should be ok (fingers crossed) as official weigh in day looms on Monday. Had a very creamy shake tonight as I didn't judge the mix right earlier but it did the trick and filled me up nicely. I am going away on Thursday for 2 nights and am going to bring my supplies with me but will probably have to do WS for those two days as I just cannot refuse to go to restaurant on one of those nights without being rude. I won't be drinking any alcohol so I can't blame a blow out on the wine! I think it is better to plan for it rather than hope to stay 100% and feel like a failure if I don't stick to it. Once I get those 2 days over I will have 4 weeks until a friends wedding so I will hopefully have a another stone off by then!! Early night for me tonight and then will tackle all that housework I put off today..(someone's got to do it!)

Well done. You've done well today and clearly have your days away well planned out. I'm going to my mother's on thursday and staying until Monday as she is having a cateract operation on Friday. I'm going to take my exante meals with me for th duration. We may go out on Thursday night and if we do I'll try to keep low carb. Its really funny that I dont miss alcohol at all despite the fact I used to have a glass of wine every night. It will no doubt a stressful night as my mum is not the easiest person to get on with. Even though she is now nearly 86 she is still very difficult. I'm going to go for a run whenever things get fraught so that should use up lots of calories! Night night.

It gets tricky doesn't it when you have commitments that threaten to derail the process. I could be out tonight but I just knew it was too early in the game to try to work round it tonight. There is no way i would be able to go out with those girls alcohol free. I previously drank quite frequently (not during the week but weekends always involved wine/vodka). i seemed to go off it last year (menopause??, dont know) but it doesn't worry me not having it. My addiction has always been food...I use to celebrate and commiserate and there lies my downfall. Best of luck with your mum with the cataract op. I stayed with my mother in law last year when she had it done and she now has eagle eyes and never misses a trick! She is 87 and so sharp (mentally and by nature!)

Well Day 14 looms! On the scales again this morning and staying strong yesterday has paid off with other pound gone so happy with that. So far I have lost every day which is incredibly motivating. Official weigh in stats tomorrow and that will be the first 2 weeks done. The weather is terrible today. Wind and rain so no excuse for not getting the housework done!! 2 pints of water for breaky and will wait until later this morning to have my shake...its pretty early (I am an early bird) so may have to go back to bed for an hour or two! :p

Your weight loss is really good. I lost a lot less than you even in the beginning - 8lb in the first week and 2lb in week 2 - despite being 100% That being siad, I don't mind as long as I lose something every week! It's wet and colds here too this morning and I'm absolutely freezing (ketosis makes me cold). It does seem to be brightening up a little and it's forecast for sunshine and showers this afternoon. I'm going to read through people's posts on here while I have a coffee and then take the dog out before having a blitz on the housework. I'm also going to try and make sure I do my run today! Hope you have a lovely day Goldie.

hi Lynne, i think that the first stone came off fast apart from the water weight etc. was that the first stone literally went on in a few weeks. I can lose weight quickly but on the downside I can put it on quickly too! You have less to lose than me so it makes sense that your weight loss is slower...I would call yours a good stable loss. If I fall off the wagon I could literally show a 5lb gain overnight! I suppose our bodies all work differently but at least our results are going the right way. I am still in a dilemma about my days away at the end of the week. It is a family commitment rather than a celebration eent so I won't need to worry at a big blowout but I will still need to go out to a restaurant one of the nights. Day 13 nearly done and the official week 2 weigh in is in the morning which is keeping me on track today. Hope you didn't get blown away with the wind today!! Going to have a nice warm bath..I am the same with the ketosis...constantly freezing especially my feet!
