Hey Claire,

It's been ageeeeess and I've been a very naughty girl not coming straight back to Minis after my hols!! I've been back 9 days- I should have nipped it in the bud straight away and got my sorry arse back on here! Well 7lb on (better than the 10lb my scales reported when I first got back!) so I have a bit of work to do, but I'm hoping that a carefully planned week back on the straight and narrow will get another few off by next Mon!! 3lb to get back to the top of my original target range would be best- not so much that I won't have to pay at class, but more for the pride element!!!! The cruise was fantastic- 9 islands in 14 days, and the ship itself (Azura) was amazing- so much fun stuff to do and the food...well the gain speaks volumes lol!!

Well enough about me- sounds like you've got plenty on your plate, having had a quick read through and update!!! What a stressful chain of events- your poor hubby and the situation with his Mum!! I'm sure things will get better for him- it all sounds very unlucky, but reversible!! Maybe you do need to take some time off hun- being in work can be a distraction- but it doesn't actually lower the existing stress levels or solve the problems!! See how you feel in the morning! I can totally understand the comfort eating aspect- and I'm in no place to preach or advise at the moment with my post-cruise gain to get rid of having eaten like a little piggy myself for 2 1/2 weeks solidly- but Roziee is right- you could make yourself some comfort food that hits the spot without being disastrous to the ol' waistline!! Anything with mash is always a winner- or a chicken dinner?!! Lots of options- it's a matter of steering clear of junk food- but you knew that already!!! Oh dear, I'm sure I'm not helping....Big hugs XXXXX

Welcome back sweetie :) sounds like you had a fantastic time, as for the gain you'll have that gone in no time at all!!
Things are pretty rough for sure. Paul is coping better than me but think he's in denial, he knows he'll never get the hearing back in that ear but he won't open up and talk.
Aiming to go back to work tomorrow :( have mad some 12 speed soup to get myself back in track.
Xx

Yes went back yesterday, my MD was lovely and supportive so made it so much easier etc to get time off for dic appointments.
As for Paul, yes he will never get the hearing back :(
The head of ENT explained to us that as the damage is to his inner ear there is nothing they can do, totally irreversible. Just trying to find out now how it happened. He see's it about twice a week so not uncommon either! It's so scary isn't it :(

I'm doing 7:30-19:30 today and 7:30-21:00 tomorrow as we have our annual stock take booooooo!!!

My goodness yes it's very scary as it takes something so small and accidental for anything to happen to any of us!! I'm certain though that he'll adapt quickly to the situation- we underestimate ourselves in our ability to adapt- his other ear's hearing will become clearer and more tuned in and his other senses will compensate too! It's just a scary change for you all and it just shows how we take things for granted when we have all our bodily functions intact!!

Hope you feel OK being back in work- sometimes it can help to have something else to focus on! And having a good manager and supportive colleagues goes a long way too!X

Thank you so much x

Paul's just gone to collect his friend as he's just split from his wife after 10 years of marriage. So sad for him but she wasn't a nice person so longterm he will be better off. He's going to have dinner with us and stay over tonight - what friends are for :)
Hopefully rest of the weekend will be quiet and uneventful!
Hope you have a good one xx

Hey sweetie....Paul has his work medical on Friday and the MRI in 4 weeks, trying to stay strong as I'm sure everything will be just fine.
I'm feeling much better in myself now but have decided to stop SW until closer to my goal.
Paul and I started Slim & Save today ( its a food replacement but can have protein and veg meal once a day if you want )
At the moment not having to think about food for both of use is a blessed relief. I have a bad relationship with food when my life is unside down.
Drastic for others I know but its what I need right now....so heres to my slimmer future. Hope your well
xxx

As long as you're not putting your health at risk, I'm fine hehe xxx

Bless your heart, I'm fine - even went to my doctors yesterday to get the all clear ;)
I can hand on heart say I'm not hungry, usually 2 days in and it begins etc but feel better on this than when I followed Sureslim a few years ago - now that was tough.
Our life is so flippin hectic that not to have to think about food etc was such a relief. Last night collected our dog from Vets, by the time we got home etc we wouldn't have eaten before 8:30....being shattered from 12 hrs at work would have meant a quick fix or cheating the diet but we had our shakes and job done :)

Hope your well sweetie

Just keep an eye on your energy levels and if it gets foo much stop straight away x

Hi Claire, Glad to hear you're feeling a bit better about things!! All the best for Paul's MRI and also the medical he's having on Friday! Fingers crossed they're supportive of him! Hope he's OK going in the tunnel at the MRI- some people find it really clostraphobic! Glad you've had the all clear from Doc! I haven't come across Slim & Save before- I'll have to check it out! Anything that works hun and lots of people follow these plans and go on to maintain on more long terms plans like SW or WW! So go for it! It sounds like you're pretty positive about the whole thing- as long as you stay strong and well XXX

Thanks sweetie :)
Paul's medical went well, they've recommended he can still work on track as long as he's not alone which he's really happy with. There going to access him after his MRI and the fitting of his hearing aid.
MRI is in 4 weeks and hearing aid beginning of may.
Paul's doing the diet too, both got the go ahead and were 3 days down and all going well :) I know it's doesn't suit all but I do desperately need to shift a dress size before Florida in June- cant afford new clothes ATM and have a wardrobe full of stunning size 16's I want to wear again :)
Hope your well xx

OMG silly me saying good luck for the medical on 'Friday! It already is Friday lol!! Infact Saturday as I sit here typing at 00.40!!!! Oh well that's good that things went well and he's well supported! Re the Slim & Save, sometimes you just want to see quick results for a holiday or occasion, and I think things like that are great to serve that purpose, and I'm sure you'll get back to a more long term approach when you're good and ready and have seen some results!XXX

It sounds like you're having a really tough time at the moment. Hope you're ok :)
Good luck with the new diet plan.x
