Last person he got is one of our 'special' people that come in to help out. To be honest I don't think he had the guts to stand up to her (director)

I think the reason she didn't want it in the accident book is cos the dog really shouldn't be there cos of insurance purposes...but thats not my problem.

She said after the meeting ended that the dog would always be in her office from now on....without exception. But she's said that before too!!

The meeting didn't end til 12.50 and I was due to stay on this afternoon cos I'm meant to be in another meeting at 2pm but I thought sod it...my hours are normally just til 1pm so I left!!

I went out for a cigarette and Bev came out with the dog...and tried to get him to apologise (?????) Told her sorry but I'm not going to even look at him!!

OMG that is truly ridiculous. why on earth would there be a dog where you work unless its a dog pound or kennels or something

i would put it in the accident book and look for a bit of compo :D :D :D :D

take care hun

Not a dog pound or kennels Gen...we make specialised chairs for hospitals/care homes.

Everyone agrees that the dog shouldn't be there....but no one does anything about it??

I'm not the sort of person to make a fuss but I have to stand my ground on this one.

Still throbbing!

That really is outrageous! There is no way an animal should be allowed into a working environment .. especially if it's been known to have 'previous'.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's even something in their Public Liability insurance cover you could claim against if your toe gets worse - and it should definitely get noted in the Accident Book. If you do need to make a claim and there's nothing in there about the incident, you won't have a .. erm ... leg to stand on (no pun intended  ).

I should be around on my own later so hopefully catch up then xxx

It's almost surreal.

You are absolutely right to insist on it being in the accident book and given the woman’s position in the company she runs the risk of personal prosecution trying to get things excluded from the accident book.

I would simply refuse to me in the same room as the mutt in future.

Take the rest of the week off mate to recover - it would be interesting to see how they could do anything but take it. Obviously as a manager this advice goes against my principles, but heck, nobody brings their dog in to my work!!

Anyway, how exactly was this dog supposed to apologise, or have I read that wrong!!

Finally it must have bloody hurt and been shocking. I take it then the dog was not on sole source at the time was it.....sorry

Ouch!!! Losing a toenail - poor you!!

That is a ridiculous situation honey, make sure you stand your ground though with the accident book!!

BTW have you heard from your date yet? Men are hard work aren't they? grrrr Whic is why it's good to have plenty on the go cos if one of 'em pisses you off it's less painful haha

Well I've been to the docs and not only have I lost my toenail but a chunk of toe is missing too!!!

I'm in agony....keep going hot and cold...the nurse thinks I'm in shock.

She dressed it and I have to go back on thursday to get it dressed again. And in the meantime...keep it elevated and no getting it wet!!

The dogs owner has been texting all afternoon asking if I'm ok....

I will be putting it in the accident book...no doubt about that!!

My boss (who hates the dog) rang me while I was in the docs asking if I was ok. Only just been able to ring him back.
He says it definatly has to go in the accident book. He also said to take a couple of days off if I need to...told him I won't as it isn't that bad...but maybe I will...I deserve to be paid for doing nothing!!!

Maybe he was on SS...seemed pretty hungry...lol

She treats him like a child...and expects everyone else to think he's wonderful too. I have always made it clear that dogs aren't my thing. I'm not horrible to it...just ignore it.

Just as I was about to leave she came up to me and said to the dog something along the lines of
' Come on little boy....say sorry to Amanda'

I said to her in a joking manner...
'sorry but I'm not even going to look at him again!!'

Amanda
So sorry to hear about your accident. And i have had accidents twice involving my big toes and they were mighty painful. If you get paid for sickness I'd stay off and rest it.

Make sure you keep it clean and dry Amanda, cover it and dont let it get too sweaty. Nail fungus can take hold with a damaged nail. Not pleasant!

Well the bath was fun....and hard work...lol...but I managed!! I put my foot in a plastic bag just in case...all was ok til I got out and all the water dripped down onto my foot...I was mopping up like mad!!!

Mum arrived about 11 and Malcolm got to work in my cupboard....I've now got 4 huge shelves in there to put all my boxes of stuff in :)

Still limping about....no dancing for me this weekend!!

Got a beautiful bouquet of flowers from Bev today...think she feels awful about it all

Back to work tomorrow...dreading all the questions to be honest

Amanda
