Lucky's 2013 Diary

SATURDAY 19th January 2013 (Total Syns = 13.5 )

Exercise: Body Pump

B: 2 boiled eggs, Sharon Fruit, 28g Weetabix Spoonsize and Hot Skimmed Milk (Half a HEx A and HEx B)
S: Banana and coffee (Free)
L:
Quorn, pepper, mushroom and pasta bake (half a HExA low fat cheese)
Pub: 3 diet cokes & 2 Becks Blue (5 syns)
S: 2 pick n mix packs Love Hearts (2 syns)
D:
Baked Beans on 2 slices w/meal toast (HExB) and low fat cheese (HExA) Persimmon
S: Curly Wurly and 1 pick n mix roll of LoveHearts (6.5 syns)

I need to be a bit careful about syns this afternoon as am visiting a friend so see her lovely baby, Poppy, who was born just before Christmas. REMEMBER: As much tea as you like, but NO CAKE!! When I get back from there I'll be popping to my local pub to have a chin wag with everyone, but no alcohol!! SO. Diet coke, Becks Blue (2,5 syns), Coffee (theirs is too string for me black though) or tea (no Redbush - but I could buy the landlord a box as a gift for the pub I suppose. He does lots of sorts of tea, just not my favourite. Might do that! Not sure if the plan is to get a curry tonight. If so then I'll need to save a HEx B and 6 syns for my prawn dansak. I quite fancy jacket potato with beans and cheese actually. Will muse on it (and probably change my mind a billion times!)....

.... Lovely to see Bethany and the baby, and another close friend, Laura (who I haven't seen since December) visited at the same time. No need to worry about her offering cake etc. It sound like she's been very reliant on takeaways and ready meals as too exhausted / out of routine to cook a lot of the time, so snacks for guests are far from her mind. I suggested getting a slow cooker so she has more healthy food, which might be better for her and give her more energy. Maybe (when I get paid) I can start doing some batch cooking to take round for her freezer - I don't want her to think I'm criticizing though. Will have a think about it. Poppy is still tiny, weighing 6lb 6oz. Loads of blonde hair already, just like her mum.

Pub was okay, but would have loved to have an alcoholic drink really. My OH turned up very drunk from the beer festival, talking arse very loudly. He's still down the pub. Hope he doesn't slip over on the way home, but I couldn't stay any longer. TV on Saturdays is rubbish though. Tea, Curly Wurly and bed I think!

Now, I was very pleased with myself today as went out with school this morning and went to a cafe. Everyone else had cakes and I had my black coffe, banana and Alpen Light. I was very pleased with myself. Smug, smug, smug!

Now having a quiet night in. Have had dinner and waiting for OH to bugger off out so I can get on with colouring my hair, then ready of bed and do my nails. Then an early night and finish my book. Party animal eh!!! lol :D

Ha we did the same. The OH went and played football in the snow and I stayed in. Then we watched that trever macdonald on death row. It was brilliant. We are going for a Chinese buffet tonight....I'm going to try and stick to plan by having noodles, veg, boiled rice as much as I can. I've still got quite a few syns to play about with so I should be ok :/ xx

I dry fry chopped onion and a couple of peppers and lots of mushrooms.

Add in crushed garlic (and a couple of beef oxo cubes as I'm not a veggie, so not appropriate for all who follow green!), some italian style dried herbs and salt and pepper (have also got some Asda bolognaise style spice / seasoning and sometimes bung some of that in as well). I also add in some chilli powder as I like it a bit spicy.

I then add a bag of frozen quorn and a tin of chopped tomatoes and stir well.

I let that simmer gently (adding a bit of water if it starts looking too dry) while I boil up some pasta (my current fave is the Asda own chilli penne).

Mix it all together and put in a large overproof dish then sprinkle on half fat cheddar. (Last night I used 2 HEx's of cheese over the whole thing and it was nice and cheesey).

Spray with frylight all over to help the cheese melt and brown without singeing and bake until golden and gorgeous.

It is rather yummy. xx

Okay - updating diary feels like confession time today as lost the plot a bit. Suddenly came down with a STINKING cold and went a bit mad with the snackages!! My god - 24.5 syns. Not at all good. Think I'd better go to bed before I do any more damage!
The good news is that I've already had notification that tomorrow is a snow day for my school, so I can nurse my cold instead of passing it on to all my pupils (I know I'd have felt silly calling in sick for a cold, no matter how rough I was feeling). Bleugh!!

Feel better now - just totted up my syns for the last week (Mon to Sun) and it's 78.0, so that's okay after all. Phew. :D

Thank gawd for Sugar Free Vimto! Been sipping away at hot mugs of it to sooth my cold all afternoon / evening so far. (Was going to get Ribena, but Vimto reduced to £1 in Asda so got it instead).

Apparently Curly Wurly's are 6 syns, not 5.5 syns as I'd thought. Boooo. I'm not going to amend all the entries on here, just this weeks...

Exercise: Tap dancing if feel up to travel after work
Nope - might do Zumba or something local at the gym, but can't be doing with walking to and from the station at both ends, and waiting around on freezing cold platforms waiting for trains. I want to get better!! Will update re exercise later when put evening snack on diary.

Am all ready for work, but getting ready was enough to cover me in sweat. What a wuss. Hoping I'm going to cope with the cycle ride into school...

B: 2 boiled aggs & 2 clems
Yep
S: Black coffee, banana and 1 Alpen Light (Half a HExB)
Yep
L: 4 ryvita, vff cottage cheese, VFF Activia & a persimmon (HExB) Yep
S: Other Alpen Light (other half a HExB) Yep
D: Quorn and veg curry and rice (1.5 syns) Yep
S: Curly Wurly and Milky Coffee (HExA and 6 syns)

It really is MUCH easier to stick to plan when I'm at work. At the moment I still seem able to hand round the biscuits and cakes without feeling like I want to / should take one - I hope this carries on!

I didn't go to Tap OR Zumba in the end as was feeling very shivery. Ate dinner then wrote shopping list for what I need up til 31st (when I get paid) and went ton do that shop at Asda. MY God - I thought I was going to have to phone my other half up to come and help me carry it! Obviously not at my usual fitness and strength. Now, I know I usually think about weight-loss and toning when I do my exercising, but honestly did appreciate how strong I usually am today (when it was temporarily taken away). I want to be fit and strong. I want to continue enjoying exercising, and be able to keep up with the others in the class (even the ones half my age). If I want this for the foreseeable future, and into my older years, then it is really important to stick at it. No excuses, but at the same time, look after my body. That means respecting illnesses or injuries. I do think I did the right thing resting some more tonight, but I'm itching to get back to it. Hoping, and hoping that I'm fine for tomorrows class!

Exercise: Either Body Combat

B: 2 Boiled Eggs & 2 Clems, Milk in coffee (from HEx A allowance) and one Alpen Light (other at break time) (HExB)
S: Black coffee, banana and other Alpen Lights (counted HEx in Breakfast)

S:
Milky coffee (from Hex A allowance counted at Breakfast)
D: Quorn and veg curry and wholegrain rice (1.5 syns)
S: Cadbury's Flake (7 syns)

I think I'm turning into a lightweight. 3 ryvitas is all I can cope with at lunchtime. Really wish the oven in the VI form common room didn't smoke like a bugger, otherwise I'd have a freshly cooked jacket potato at lunch time instead. I bet there'd be other staff wanting to do the same.

Feel much better after doing some exercise. Think I'll sleep well tonight!!

My OH is planning to go to see a some bands tonight. Lots of our friends will be there, but with the whole being sober malarky and having been poorly in the week, I really don't think I can be bothered to go out in the cold. Punk music really does need a small amount of alcohol at least to make it bearable!! I'd like to think I will do something productive (maybe start the mammoth task of sorting out clothes - starting with the stuff that FITS me now, but I don't wear. That should be the first stuff to go). Otherwise an early night and good book I suppose. Am reading a very good one at the moment. It's called Her Fearful Symmetry and it's by the person who wrote The Time Travellers Wife, and I'm really enjoying it. I feel like I'm reading it a bit greedily at the moment and will be very sad when it's finished, but, looking at the reviews in Amazon I may be setting myself up for a disappointment. They all seem to say the first third of the book was great, and then it turned into a pile of poop.

After my thoughts about exercising and getting older, had a lovely chat with Margarete at work yesterday. She is in her 60's now and only started exercising at 50. She says she just regrets not starting younger as she now feels better than ever. She certainly looks good. On the BBC news / Breakfast TV this morning they did an article about active senior citizens, and it was a lovely positive piece. There was one lady on there who had started running at 50, and is now a sprinter at 70. She looks great and is obviously really benefiting from the positives of her exercising. That's what I want for myself when I'm in my 60's and 70's, and I'm lucky that I rediscovered exercise earlier, in my 30's. :D Now, just to keep at it!

Saturday 26th January 2013 (Total Syns = 19.5)

Exercise: Legs Bums and Tums

Weigh In: Lost 1lb - Good Lord this loss is so slow!! Am I doing something wrong, or is it just the way it is?? Didn't have so much exercise as usual this week as was poorly, but then I STS last week. Boooo. Oh well. I only want to lose about 10lb, so if it takes a while I can live with that, as I enjoy the exercise, and the way of eating. As long as I know it's going to come off eventually.
