M-Mouse's Droppings

awww - how old tomorrow? and thats ketosis for you - probably why people lose weight on low carb diets!

Loving the new picture - very festive:D
He is 13 today.

Cat has come out of hiding but still not nabbed a picture. The little one is driving her batty - chasing her constantly. Anyone would think she was an old lady but she's only one. Maybe it has rubbed off on her living with an old lady previously.

Can you tell me how you do this please? I love my Moroccan friend's roasted aubergine but she uses oil... lots of it.
i use chilli oil on mine - but have used fry light before (the spray oil Jo - you got it on your shopping list?) i only put a splash of oil on and quickly rub it in (only on the 'meat' side so to speak) after cutting in half and just cook on 190 for about 20 mins till squishy and sweet and heavenly :)
philly would be nice but would wait till nearly cooked - as i do with the camembert stuff and then knife a bit on and cook again.
They are on my shopping list again this week - they are also nice without the cheese and a sprinkle of chilli on.

Happy 13th little one!

Thanks - but he's not so little now - taller than me (not that that's particularly hard!!) Still a sweetie though a darn sight more so than his big Sister!

I want aubergines and I want them now! I doubt the village shop sells anything quite so exotic though:D

Lol they might do :) get 'em on your shopping list for next week. roasted veg rocks. :D

and the aubergine itself, any preparation? Or just slice it? (I remember seeing recipes in the past where they'd advise salting and leaving to drain or something or is that the "old fashioned" way?).

Yes fry lite always on my list.

By the way, the sugar free lemon + lime sugar free jelly taste like lemsips. DISGUSTING!

No prep jo - just cut in half oil up and put skin side down on baking tray - leave - just keep checking and when they squishy taken them out and eat.
I know when ive made moussaka (oh you could have that on dukan) ive dry fried the aubergines first to get a little moisture out. But no - no prep - easy as pie and very very tasty!

oh not tried lemon and lime - in fact im just staying away from anything sweet at all!

Oh dear, Mungbean had wet cat food last night for the first time - he knicked it from Willow (who doesn't seem to know what dry food is so I gave her some I had in the cupboard). He is now providing a rather potent reminder of why I stopped giving my cats wet food - which would be fine were he not parked quite firmly on my little desk while I work! <Holds nose>

yes xmas penguin and yes peterborough. :) made it myself in the pub :D like it? ;)

ah well. i feel a bit more festive this year :) got pink sparkly lights for my sausage dog tree :)

Yey! I am tempted to light my Xmas candle - to get rid of the cat smell!! Every time I see a sausage I think of you!

We (that is the royal 'we' need to dig our tree up from the garden, buit need to get the birthdays out of the way first. The kitten is going to love the tree!!

Boy do I hate writing Xmas cards!! I'm not really doing anything christmassy at all apart from Xmas - I have cried off quite a few meals because I just can't cope with eating them. I am manning the phones while they have a work Xmas meal:cry:

OMG Kim! is this cos of the diet?

Well partly because of the diet and partly because of my tummy probs - I can't really eat a proper sized meal without being ill, and I get really self conscious and feel as though people are watcing me to see how much I eat. It will be bad enough tonight going to Prezzo as my Mum is coming and I get all these comments about how much I've eaten and the fact that I'm 'fading away' <I Wish!!!> - I just can't cope with it so find it easier not to go. Unfortunately I can't not go out on my Baby's birthday!
