My journey to slim and happy...

Yay well done that's brilliant *fingers crossed* for your pay rise! Have a good evening x

Thank you ladies! :D
I'm just on my way home and I honestly don't know how I managed to survive today. I am so ill!!! :(
Does anyone know any good remedies for cold and flu that's allowed on SnS?
I don't think ibuprofen will cut it anymore I'm afraid :(

How is everyone?

My TOTM can go a little haywire on this diet. I take a pill that means I shouldn't have a TOTM but still do sometimes. It means that if I'm even a few hours late, it's enough to mean that I do have one. Last month I had one, it stopped and like you less than a week later it was back again. It quite possibly is diet related for you, a lot of people find that it makes them have shorter gaps and irregular TOTMs but it doesn't last forever. Your body will soon settle down again and go back to normal, you wouldn't have to stop again so don't worry too much about it.

Ok so I slightly went off plan tonight. I had an extra tuna egg and gherkin salad as I was feeling so weak. This cold and the never ending TOTM is draining me.
It was still very low carb so unlikely to have kicked me out of ketosis but calorie wise I went over the 800. Oh well. I need to learn to listen to my body and this time I felt I needed it.

In bed now feeling like s**t. :(

I wouldn't worry about the extra food, you're still following the diet and need to look after yourself whilst you're poorly.

Hope you feel better soon!! xxx

Thank you darlings. I'm not feeling bad about it in the slightest. In fact I am rather proud of myself that I made a grown up decision. The rebellious child that was very heavily present the last time I did VLCD is quite apparently being taken over by the responsible adult. Yay me! :)

Seeing my doc tomorrow morning so apart from the TOTM issue I might get him to prescribe me something for my cold.

I'm proud of you :) You showed that rebellious child who's boss! You are right, a Peanut butter sandwich won't cure a cold, but if your body is needing more energy (which is does when you're ill actually!) - you fed it with some wholesome and healthy food.

You're amazing, you give me so much inspiration!

I second this!!! :) x

Morning.
First things first. Lost 3 lbs this week. I'll take that. Given the fact I've been ill and have 2 TOTM's a month I think that is a good result. Sooooo close to 100's though. Def next week!

So went to see my doctor yesterday. He sent me down for blood tests as he said bleeding this frequently isn't normal even after a depo jab.
This definitely made me even more worried now! :(
For the time being he's given me something to stop the bleeding as he's worried I might become anaemic.
Oh dear.
On top if that I've had my physio for my shoulder (injury I sustained a few months ago) and I've been properly told off by my therapist. I was banned from lifting any weights for at least 3 weeks while I perform very basic (or so they seem) exercises to strengthen my shoulder and back muscles.
So not a great day altogether yesterday. If you take my weights off me I will be a very unhappy lady! :(

The good news is the weather is lush!

Have a good one my loveliest!

Hi Slim - how are you today? My OH has pernicious anemia - she gets B12 injections every 11 weeks (painful) and is otherwise fine.

Whatever happens, at least you're/;they're doing something about it.

Hi guys. Thanks for your well wishes and concern.

I had a busy day today (what's new). Really struggled at the gym today. Even my trainer noticed I've not been myself.
I don't know. Maybe I'm pushing myself too hard.
I'm trying not to worry. I'm sure it's just hormonal imbalance cause by the jab. Like you all said at least I'm getting it sorted.
B12 shots are a good idea though. I will suggest it to my GP.

Diet wise it's all good. Had an extra boiled egg for lunch but today was my workout day so wanted to up my protein intake.

How is everyone?
I will catch up on everyone's diaries tomorrow. I'm off to bed now. Knackered.

Nite nite :) xx

Hi honey!

Pernicious anemia isnt the same as iron deficiency anemia (i have both, lol). Pernicious anemia is when your body doesnt make or absorb (cant remember which) the B12 that you need to function. Not to say you DONT have it, but it wouldnt be caused by your TOTM coming so often. xx Iron deficiency ("normal") anemia is generally treatable quite easily with iron tablets. In SEVERE cases (like...baaaaaad) they can do an iron infusion which is meant to be quite painful. You sit on an iron drip all day, I believe - that Ive not had (thankfully). The B12 jab isnt much more painful (to me) than any other jab, other than they inject into a muscle. I have a very high pain tolerance though so I dunno. You can get iron tablets (ferrous sulphate) over the counter at any chemist. They really hurt my tummy though (post bypass) and quite a lot of people get a tummy ache with them or some kind of side effect (constipation is common too). You can also ASK for ferrous fumarate from your GP which is muuuch easier on the stomach. Much.

Do YOU feel like you are pushing yourself too hard? Do you feel run down? The diet and exercise and all that...is very important...but you need to listen to your body as well. You're doing fantastically, of course. And it could just be from being ill and having TOTM like ALL THE TIME. Or it could be your body saying that its a bit tired and needs a break or a boost. Maybe a food week? Maybe just extra eggs/protein every day? Maybe you just need more rest/down time? You should have a sit down and think about it and see how you feel. You dont want to burn yourself out before you get to goal, youve come SO far and done so so well! xx Take care of yourself, lovely :hug99:

Morning.

No I don't think I have anaemia of any form to be honest. The issue with TOTM hasn't been around for long enough I think. I will get my results on Monday so until then there is no point speculating. I've heard good things about B12 shots. My friend gets them every 3 months and it really helps her energy levels.
I don't think I'm pushing myself too hard. What I struggle with is sticking to minimum exercise. Taking my gym away from me is like the worst thing anyone could have done to me!
Diet wise I think I'm fine. I rarely have days when I just have packs. I usually add an extra protein or more veg than allowed. I do that because I DO listen to my body. So far it's worked in my favour. I may not be getting 4-5lb losses but I'm ok with that. I want to be able to manage my eating habits even during the diet rather than solely rely on packs.
I think it's way too early for food week for me. I am going away at the end of may so I'm planning to do a mini food week prior my trip and then fully enjoy my mum's food while I'm there. Until the. I will carry on doing what I'm doing. I think I'll be ok :)
I may, MAY (lol) reduce my workouts to 4 times a week rather than 5 lol

I'm terrible I know ;)

Hope everyone is cool though!

Hi Slim,
I'm glad you're being sensible with adding extra protein/veg when you need them and listening to your body... Has your awful cold got better? :)
Good luck with the doctor's results on Monday - let's hope it's nothing that can't be easily solved!
