Hi All,
Firstly let me apologose for not being around and I want to thank you ALL for your messages.
I have had a tough couple of weeks and I won't deny that I have been completely off track with my plan. My son has been suffering from stomach pains over the last few months and was admitted to hopital back in March with them which they put down to a virus in the stomach lining. He has still been getting these stomach pains and 2 weeks ago he had a big attack. I took him to the gp at the start of last week and when the Dr looked at all of the evidence she admitted him to hopital there and then. He has not only had the stomach pains but back in December he had pneumonia and then a secondary infection of pneumonia in January. Plus he is covered in unexplained bruises one covering about 6 inches of his back. When I took him to the gp he wasn't in pain at the time and so I wondered why the sudden rush to send him in there and then and so I asked my hubby to sit in the waiting room with my son whilst I spoke with the Dr. I asked why the rush to send him in now to which she replied
"I am worried about him and I want to rule out something!"
that frightened the life out of me but I had to ask the question "What are you thinking it could be? Please tell me so I can be prepared in case it is!"
"I believe it could be Leukemia!"
WOW I felt sick
 How could I keep a brave face on whilst facing my son! I had to because that is what us Mum's do.
We went into hospital immediately and they had to take some tests. The first set came back as inconclusive and so the nest day he had to have more. Whilst they were taking his bloods he had a panic attack and fainted in my arms! Which was quite scary on it's own but when they then told me that the results would be back within about 2 hrs I was scared sh**less!
It was the longest 2 hrs of my life :sigh: and I have to admit that I had to walk out of my sons room and I left my sister with him whilst I went downstairs and pinched a fag of a stranger outside the hospital and I sobbed my heart out whilst smoking it!
2 hrs later the results were in a NO leukemia, No hepatitis and nothing wrong with his spleen woo hoo
We are still awaiting more tests results and he has to go back as an outpatient. The 2 things they believe it is now are
1. He is Coeliac
2. He has Crohn's Disease
I know that neither one of these are nice especially for 10 year old but they are alot better than the alternative.
He is still getting attacks of pain and has the brusies. We are having to keep a food diary for him to see what sets him off but that is very difficult now the Specialist has mentioned in front of him that it could be wheat because my son will no longer eat his weetabix or anything that he is aware that has wheat in it including bread!
So needless to say that I have not been on track at all with all of that stress and hospital food. I did manage to go to wi last week although I didn't stay. I had put on 4lb in 2 weeks oppss... I have been better this week although my syns have been at an average of about 20 syns per day. I am easing myself back in gently and next week I am back on it 100%.
Thanks again for all your support and I promise that normal service will resume shortly x x
