My slim and save wedding weight loss diary - From 242lbs to 185lbs for my big day!

Loving your diary x it has really helped me through the first few days x so big thanks x I know I have a few months longer than you till my wedding but I want to get to goal ASAP so I can tone up as well along the way and fingers crossed reintro food slowly and in a way I can maintain x

Just wanted to say thanks really lol x

Congrats on the wedding! I wish I would have discovered this last year when I was trying to calorie count and failed miserabley. You are being sensible by allowing enough time for your weight loss for the wedding, I am starting toning exercises this week, I am going to aim to do about 20mins on my cross trainer for my legs, and 10mins on my arms as well as sit ups.

xxx

Just had my second pack, tried the cinnamon and oatmeal cookie, I added a drop of water from the tap, smushed together into the oatmeal, added a bit of cinnamon and a dusting of sweetener and then microwaved 10 seconds and then flipped it over and another 10 seconds. It was warm and slightly gooey, tasted quite nice really. I had two glasses of water with it and another one to follow so feel so full!!! But it was a nice change! xx

Sounds like you got it right! I think I'm adding too much water then leaving it in the microwave a bit too long! Will try another soon xx

Move over Delia!!! This really amused me TaraT; such care and attention to an S & S recipe - I'm tempted to try it and I don't cook, well not since Nov 21st! :D

hahaha I quite enjoy cooking so it was nice to make something different! lol I don't think delia would use the term 'smushing' though lol! I also have realised that no one has posted any photos of their meals etc I found it hard to imagine what the meal packs were like/could be like before I actually tried them.

So.... here is my tea today, I tried my free sample of the chilli, and I love it! Added a bit of garlic and mixed herbs, with mushrooms and broccoli.

Feel nice and full xxx

That looks good Tara - 10 of of 10 for presentation :). Perhaps we should have a 'what do they look like' sticky for photos although believe me no one would have wanted a photo of my misshapen brownie although it tasted good

In fact I think your idea of taking photos is a great idea so can you start a 'What do the products look like' thread and include your photos and ask for it to be a sticky on the main forum please. It will help anyone thinking about starting. I know that there are official photos but it's always better to see real life images. Now, can anyone make the cottage pie look wonderful ;)

Well I didn't really fancy my last mealpack today, felt full all day and just don't feel hungry, so thought I'd try a little experiment. I do not enjoy the vanilla milkshake and wondered if I could perhaps make a tasty treat from one. I mixed it up with a bit of water (like the brownie receipe) added cinnamon (I do love cinnamon!) and moulded to cookie shape.

Well... 30 seconds later and the lovely round cookie had stretched across the plate, so I tried to neatly put it back together lol and zapped it again, It stretched again but the consistency was quite solid, so I rolled it up like a crepe and dusted slightly with some sweetener. It tasted quite nice, but I didn't take a photo, because well, it looked rather like poo! haha

Your description is not selling it haha!!!!
Back from rehearsal early so away to have my last pack now. And no BG I dont think anyone could get the cottage pie to look good but to me it tastes better than spag Bol even if it looks like a pile of mush haha!! xx

Haha I just looked at it on the plate like, erm..... theres nothing I can do to stop it photographing like it was that on a plate! hahaha It did taste nice though, at least now I have a good way of getting rid of the hundred million vanilla shakes I ordered lol

What I will say though is when I first mixed it in the bowl with the cinnamon, it made like a whip typed consistency and I licked the spoon and it tasted nice just like that to be honest! Might try the banana packet just mixed with tiny amount of water and try and make a whip xxx

Mini milestone tomorrow....... Double figures in days!! xx

I have to'd and fro'd with my thoughts on this vlcd. Particularly about how long I will follow it, if I will have breaks or not, if I will have chicken some days etc.

I originally set out to lose 3 stone by june, taking me to just over 3.5 stone in total and around 13.5 stone . I only need to fit in my dress. I was going to try and shift two on this diet, thinking it would be hellish and switch back to slimming world afterwards to get the last stone off. I intended to follow this plan until my birthday in mid march and then switch back after that.

However, I now know that the diet isn't hellish, I actually find it easier than slimming world to stick to. I also know that it took me a while to lose the weight on SW. The food option is there and I find it hard to know where to draw the line. This plan eliminates that choice.

I am now approaching day 10 on S&S and feel very confident about losing the weight I need to before the wedding. I still have the first milestone in my mind, my birthday (or 8 weeks on S&S). But now I intend to have one or two days to enjoy myself, then re-start straight away. I don't intend on going overboard on those days, but will have a little indulgence and come back to the diet. It will be in time for full new order and will mark my second 8 week stint on the plan.

I know from the wise words of others that it is hard to re-start but I know now that I can go through those first tough days and come out the other side feeling great and losing weight!

I have just worked out that I am about 17% along the way to the first milestone in march! Almost a fifth of the way there. And have lost 12.9% of the goal of 58 pounds loss on slim and save.

I feel motivated and determined to get to 100% goal by June. 12st 7lbs.

And a total of 24.2lbs to hit 10% reduction in overall bodyweight from my start weight in nov. So about another 7lbs to go to hit that!

I find that marking these milestones along the way really helps keep me focused! x

Good thoughts Tara. I find it easier to break this diet down into steps and then have a break. I've had 2 breaks so far and both were much needed. If you feel like straying then you have to say that you only have x days to go until you'll have a proper guilt free break. It is really hard for some people to get back onto it though so it's important that you're really clear about that. Some people decide not to have a break for that very reason. We're all different and are only able to do what's right for ourselves in the end. I want to get much closer to goal before switching back onto food this time. Last time I had 2 stone to go and it took me several more months to finally reach goal. This time round I'll either be at goal before switching or much closer than last time (within a stone).

I've given your advice in particular alot of though, I understand it will take alot of effort to get back on 100% but would rather come back onto this than go back onto slimming world and lose 1lbs here or there and be more tempted to cheat like I've done before.

I've had a hard time getting into ketosis, so I was even thinking to not break at all, but we are booked for this break for my bday and it's only 2 days. I have been through the first few days once and survived, and if I keep using these forums I am sure I can do it again.

I don't want to have a break until then at all. It was 56 days before my planed break, but now its only 46. And the time is flying by. I know I can get to my goal using slim and save, if I went back to slimming world I wouldn't get there. But will have to revert back a few weeks before the wedding to get used to food before we go on honeymoon. Then I may do slim and save again afterwards, not sure yet, but my goal is slimmer for my wedding day, I know I can't get to 11 stone before then, but I can try to get as close as I can! xxx

Day 10! here we go! Got on the scales this morning, 16st 0lbs! so thats 2lbs off since sat, yes nearly out of the 16s! I am hoping that tomorrow I will be! I am trying to drink more water now to keep headache at bay, seems to be doing the trick. But we will see today when I am back at work haha.

I am thrilled that it's another 2pounds off so far, I thought I would get 2lbs overall this second week as my first week was 7.5lbs.

In a good mood today now! yay!!! Oh but I have to go to work 10-8 x

Fantastic Tara!! Its good to ssee the scales still moving. Mine haven't shifted at all since saturday and it IS hard but serves me right for weighing daily!! I'll just keep plodding on. Have a great day!

Very wise words above re breaks etc - I can't think about anything like that yet but I'll see how it goes

Don't worry Janet, I think wed thur and fri last week mine sts and then sat went down that bit more, I really do think it's random! I weight daily too, can't help it xxx

Well done on the 2lbs! It'll be a good moment when the scales drop down to the next number. It always spurs me anyway :). I'm sad in that my next target is to be in that number when I weigh myself before bed so I'm totally in that stone category. I'm always a couple of pounds or so more at bedtime.
